Then the fight comes and it’s one of the most hellacious beatings a human being could ever receive!!! Honestly, as much as a fight as it wasn't, it was more of an endurance test. Ribalta was the one being tested, and considering he still kept standing, he passed in my book.

This is one of my favorite Tyson fights. Tyson himself in 2014 said that Ribalta was his strongest opponent who just took all his best shots. I think he retired Ribalta who was a school teacher.

Iron Mike in his prime would destroy all of the top heavyweights today . Virtually all his punches were meant to decapitate his opponents. He could throw bombs all night and not gas out . His movement did not allow his opponents to land clean shots . Much more than a power puncher . Ferocity , power , stamina , speed , solid defense . As great as he is remembered he is still underrated . Every Tyson fight was an event . The streets were deserted when he was fighting .

Defensive TackleХолмсу было уже почти 39 и он 2 года не выступал,Таббс был неплохим боксёром,но не более того,он и Тиму Уизерспуну в том же году проиграл,по сути самая большая победа Майка была одержана над Майклом Спинксом,тот практически всю карьеру был крузером,и над Тони Такером(упорный бой),как бы мы не любили Тайсона,и каким бы ярким он не был,надо признать,что во время его чемпионства у него не были самые сильные соперники,и что у него были проблемы против габаритных,хорошо подготовленных соперников.

Greatest what? Heavyweight can’t put him ahead of Ali or Joe Louis even Rocky Marciano has a claim. In terms of pound for pound fighters he isn’t even top ten . Maybe he was on his way I will give you that at this time if Buster Douglas Robyn givens and the rape case didn’t happen maybe he has longer career and made it to the 90s where the competition got much better he could have proved that he is among best pound for pound fighter ever or approach the level of a Mohamed Ali or Joe Louis. But he didn’t make it there in top form and never proved his metal against tougher competition. I do agree he was a force of nature and at this time would have been hard to beat by any fighter that ever lived.

I strongly agree...tysons head movement, footwork, power and hand speed was ridiculous...he was the true definition of a complete boxer..had the the size and superb skill/talent to def be the g.o.a.t, but unfortunately life took its toll. He still is 1 of the greatest tho..hands down!!!

@@sabretooth5404 Tyson fought from mid 80's to very early 90's. There wasn't much to choose from. Most of the guys he fought, were very high in the rankings back then. Can't blame Tyson for that. There even was supposed to be Tyson vs Holyfield in early 90's. Both guys at their very prime. A true dream fight. But rape charges ruined every chance for that fight to happen. I'm not defending Tyson but most superstar heavyweights came to the light in 90's when Tyson was locked up. He didn't avoid anyone back then.

Jennifer P. Tyson was lightning fast at the start of his career. Punched like he had a sledge hammer in both hands, had very good head movement, and got his feet into good positions, too. He was far more than just powerful, as a lot of people say. The Tyson at the middle/end of his career, is an insult to the one at the beginning. Yet he was still better than most of the competition, even when he didn't train. Tyson, really was a wasted fighter. I think he only fought for Cus, and when Cus died, Tyson kept fighting but didn't have much love for it any more. I think he wanted to please Cus, because he loved him like a father, and he wanted to pay Cus back, for everything he'd done for him. Just seems like yesterday to me.... time flies.

There even was supposed to be Tyson vs Holyfield in early 90's. Both guys at their very prime. A true dream fight. But rape charges ruined every chance for that fight to happen. I'm not defending Tyson but most superstar heavyweights came to the light in 90's when Tyson was locked up. He didn't avoid anyone back then.

Jennifer P. Tyson was lightning fast at the start of his career. Punched like he had a sledge hammer in both hands, had very good head movement, and got his feet into good positions, too. He was far more than just powerful, as a lot of people say. The Tyson at the middle/end of his career, is an insult to the one at the beginning. Yet he was still better than most of the competition, even when he didn't train. Tyson, really was a wasted fighter. I think he only fought for Cus, and when Cus died, Tyson kept fighting but didn't have much love for it any more. I think he wanted to please Cus, because he loved him like a father, and he wanted to pay Cus back, for everything he'd done for him. Just seems like yesterday to me.... time flies.
