    • I mean, if it's all electric, then that's not how that works. You drive a pump, that pump doesn't need the PO of a diesel motor, with gearing, it can cog some serious torque. Besides, the most efficient (biggans) are electric. I forget the name of the specific excavator, the gargantuan one that's its own electric power plant... that one's fully electric. Every aspect of it. And that was back in the 80's. With today's much more efficient electric motors + magnets + electronics... i mean, think about it this way. You're already seeing the effects of that huge power multiplication in the every day common garden variety clothes washing machine. Before 90's till mid 00's you had big electric motors that were at the base, driving through a belt... now, the motor's direct drive, it's a pancake style motor and it's about as big as two standard sized dinner plates stacked one on top of another. Same (and more) power, less consumption and a great, great deal more efficient (each reduction = power loss). Ya'll have no clue about electrics. You're operating on 80's concepts and ideas. The modern world ain't gonna wait on you.

  • Shantui completely knocked off the Komatsu D475a. I was fortunate enough to watch a D575a about 20 years ago as they brought one in to rip a project built on lava cap. You could not blast as the shockwave is just absorbed by the lava cap so they brought in a D575a. Amazing to see one in person!!!

      @chan6565@chan65659 ай бұрын
    • @@chan6565 Lets be real here for just a second. It's not like China hasn't been caught time and time again 'borrowing' the designs from western companies. think BMW, Range Rover, Mercedes, and then there are the heavy industries. It's not a secret that Japanese and German companies are world leading the heavy equipment scene. Chinese equipment is usually heavier, and much less capable. In western mining operations you won't find Chinese equipment. We had to erect a large chimney for a coal fired power station, and had machines on site from a Chinese contractor, and Liebherr cranes, the Liebherr crane was 75% the size, and could lift 50% over the capacity of the Chinese crane. The point being that their own designs just aren't that good, they tend to 'borrow' and 'come up' with very similar looking heavy machines that are still not as good as the Japanese and Western counterparts. There is a good reason that the engine they used in that Chinese dozer is a Cummins engine.

  • Just over $1M for a D11?? Maybe for a 10 years old with a million hours 😅 The D11 starts at $1.9M for a basic model and gets up to $3.5M for a fully loaded one. Even the D10 price can brake the $2M mark. Most shocking, and confusing, is the chart with the prices for a D11 in the past decades. The prices have tripled in just 20 years. I mean cars also get more expensive year by year.. but not so much as dozers or Mining machinery. That's why a 100% rebuild with new warranty ect. is still a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
