The Disastrous Downfall of Sky Does Minecraft

2020 ж. 20 Мау.

Sky Does Minecraft AKA Adam Dahlberg is a long time KZheadr who popped hard in the early 2010s, only to gradually lose viewers over time due to mass controversy. This video will take a nostalgic trip down memory lane, beginning in 2008, so we can answer the question - How did "Sky Does Minecraft" go from the second most subscribed gaming channel behind pewdiepie to only pulling 50k views in recent times?
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, Sunny XO ❤

  • I actually met Sky online once. I had just made a new character in Star Wars: The Old Republic and was on the starting planet when he introduced himself in World Chat and said that he had just started and was checking to see if SWTOR was a good game to make videos on. I crossed paths with him and he challenged me to a duel. I kicked his butt, but to be fair he probably didn’t fully know how to play the game yet, whereas I had already made several characters. He said “good fight!” and we went our separate ways. I found his channel afterwards and watched some of his videos, but they just weren’t to my tastes. Anyway, that’s still the closest I’ve ever been to meeting a celebrity. It’s a shame to see what has happened to him now.

Who are these "friends" anyways? I really want to know what actually happened between Sky and his girlfriend because there has to be more to it. Still, feels bad man, I can relate to going through some shit and it does help to vent and share your problems with a community who cares about you so I don't blame him for anything he posted. I can't blame him for not pretending to be happy to maintain views. Hope he figures things out. Not gonna like,m though, I don't know the whole story but idk what excuses cheating on a man that much and taking his son away, like if you don't love him talk about it like grown ass people with some ammount of respect for eachother, try to fix things, and if all else fails get a divorce and let the damn kid see his father once in a while. Im pretty sure the old Minecraft KZheadrs, sky, deadlox, Ssundee, stampy, Iballisticsquid, antvenom, huskymudkip, Mitch (Bajancanadian), Jerome and etc. started to slowly accept the fact that their audience, we're growing up, and we would slowly start to understand the problems they were going through, and why they weren't as lively as back in the day. Its a sad fact I accepted. Minecraft still lives on but through newer faces. It won't be the same, but it lives on. I just hope they are able to find happiness, as we did through watching their videos as children, and even now. Have an amazing day : )

Deadlox, IballisticSquid, more conroversial figures such as Lionmaker and Bashuverse etc. There's so many once massive content creators you could cover in this series. • I remember when I discovered sky by watching his Minecraft mod showcases. They were hilarious and always left me in stitches when I was a kid, and now I can't even go back to those videos because I can't unthink about the happy-go-lucky Adam that was in those videos versus now. I didn't even know he was going through psychosis and stuff until many years after I stopped watching him. I admit I didn't watch him as much when he changed content but I did not unsubscribe because I thought I'd check it every once in awhile, but suddenly I found myself looking at a stranger when I saw one of his update videos. "This is not the Adam I remember..." I was contemplating whether I should unsubscribe for a while until I saw what he did to Ross. That was the tipping point for me, I unsubscribed and wept because this was just another piece of my personal childhood that had crumbled into a corrupted mess. So yeah, this is just depressing for me, and I hope he gets better. Your fans miss you Adam and we're worried about you. Also this is not the first video I saw on Skydoesminecraft. I just thought I'd clarify that because I don't know if this video is going to get into the fact that he was doing weed and it made him go into psychosis, doing some very crazy stuff. I can't watch anymore of the video right now.

    • @@nicolasbolas2247 In a nutshell Ross had never mentioned why he stopped collaborating with Adam but Adam just out of the blue (I believe in a live stream) had mentioned Ross in a sort of semi-passive-aggressive negative light relating to why he stopped collaborating. This causes a bit of a big blow up towards Ross constantly asking him why he left and why he is no longer friends with Adam and it was a bit chaotic. But Adam didn't truly tell the truth about why Ross left and the reason for that is is because Adam made Ross sign a contract relating to the original house owner KZhead channel over to Adam basically Adam manipulated him into signing over his KZhead and other social media is related to house owner. And because Ross had signed that contract he had to make a whole new social media. In short Adam had been manipulating all of Sky media "employees" to do the same thing. • All the people defending Adam in the comments are gonna change their tune very soon. Someone who has had a huge history of bipolar and schizophrenia and refusing to take his medication, he is an actual physical danger to people as well as a danger to people’s mental well-being. The things he’s done is very much the kind of thing that would terrify people who aren’t familiar with what psychosis can do to a person. Things like ‘screaming at ants’ sounds funny, but when you stand back it’s really not. And that’s just the least offending thing he’s done. Even if it turned out that he's just a liar who was manipulating people into believing he's depressed, you just don't dismiss those kinds of pleas for help. Don't talk about mental health like you're just being a big baby, it's only going to make things worse no matter what their actual mental state is, faking or exaggerating or otherwise. I just wish for people to not think that is how you should act towards mental health and depression. Not in any way defending this guy for the horrible shit he's done as he's still ultimately making those decisions or neglecting what he needs to do to improve his decision making. That's still on him but mental health is not something to be callous or frank when addressing.

    • i agree that it wasnt an entirely true statement and that many people usually do support creators in situations like he was, but in my experience what he say does have some bit of truth to it. over the years ive seen creators get into a similar situation as sky and are just generally depressed so they try and explain it and voice themselves, and "be real", a lot of the time views and subs do dip because of that exact reason, knowing the content isnt making them happy. i for one can speak for this, carson who was just recently in a situation like this because of a certain person stated that they were unhappy and that he would halt content for a while, now he of course still had content to post and some videos to make out of streams and the like from the past month, one example being a lunchclub video and i really just couldnt bring myself to finish it knowing how he was feeling right then, even though that video was most likely made before any of that happened. what im trying to say is there actually is some truth to the statement whether you like it or not, there will always be the fans that stick with the creator no matter what, but the majority just wont feel the same and eventually break away from watching their content because of it, and it is sad really but its a fact we have to deal with. something similar but not quite related is the fact that bashur actually came back just recently after being cancelled into oblivion with a VERY strong start because of all the old fans who have waited and missed him for years and im really happy for him, that shows that sometimes it isnt entirely impossible for this situation skyfiredragongoddemonslayer is talking about to happen but it is quite rare. also also i may have been basing this comment on their post forgetting which one im replying to but whatever.

  • What I got out of all that you said is "If you're a content creator and you're struggling, don't say anything". Basically brushing off mental health and saying that mentioning it makes viewers uncomfortable and ruins the "image" of you/your channel and that you should just silently suffer, be a robot, and pretend nothing's wrong. I never watched Sky's videos but if a creator I loved was going through stuff, I'd be more than okay with them sharing that stuff. It reminds people that they're human too and people go through things no matter how much money they have. I also am shocked that you suggested that he should've stayed silent about his son. He should be able to share that his girlfriend not only cheated on him with multiple people but also then took his son away from him. He should be able to say he's not doing good mentally and is depressed. Whether or not he shared theses things, viewer's would've noticed a change in his behavior in videos and they would've started speculating and assuming things. I respect that Sky/Adam was able to share what he was going through. I'm sure he has viewers that use his videos to get away from things going on in their lives and it's very comforting to know that someone you look up to goes through things in life too and it helps people feel like they aren't alone in how they feel. It helps open up conversations and honestly talking about mental health needs to be normalized and should've be seen as something off putting or uncomfortable.
