The Battle of Hannut was a Second World War battle fought during the Battle of Belgium which took place between 12 and 14 May 1940 at Hannut in Belgium. It was the largest tank battle in the campaign. It was also the largest clash of tanks in armoured warfare history at the time.

My late grandfather was in the 1er Régiment de Dragons Portés / 2nd Mechanized Light Division / 1st Army that saw action in the double battle of Hannut / Gembloux. Never talked much about the war to my father. He recalled that he had twicked an Hotchkiss tank so that it could drive faster and that it had been evacuated at Dunkirk 'sur un superbe navire de ligne anglais' ie 'on a very fine British liner' (TSS Tynwald according to its military papers). The regiment spent two days in Weymouth in England to recover as they had not slept since start of the German offensive and then was sent back to the front line in France via night shipping to Cherbourg. His regiment was partially re-equipped and fought a delaying battle at one division against three until the armistice was signed on the 21st of June 1940. My grandfather survived the campaign but his squadron's commander, a captain and a WWI veteran, did not have this chance and got killed in May. One of the 100,000 French soldiers who would never come back from the Campaign of the West 1940 either KIA, dying from wounds or as POW.
I love the fact that the lines spoken at minute 3:05 are from Verstaubt sind die Gesichter I just love that series as well as these brickfilms, so seeing those 2 combined is awesome🎉
ParaLight WorX (Moschaisk - WW2 Short Film) - you mean this one?
Yea, and there are I believe 10 or 11 short films of that series, I love that👍🏼
Yeah where do u get them
This is one of my favourite brick films so far! The movement of the soldiers and the tank are on point. You have given me inspiration to make my own, please keep posting🤘🏾
Thanks for the support ) trying to do my best every time

Really like your camera work. Those camera angles are great, and I love those little shots of guys sharing a cigarette. Well done!!
Thank you! Its always a pleasure to see that people do pay attentions to those details

I get minifigs from a lot of different places. I have expensive minifigs and cheap ones. Yes I do take some of them from Aliexpress but as well I get from Brickmania, The Minifig Co, United Bricks and others. In this animation all French soldiers are really from Aliexpress. The Gremans are from brickwarlord.
The best lego stopmotion i have ever seen.
Génial, comme d'habitude 👍
Thanks! Merci!
You welcome ! De rien ! You're the best ! Vous êtes le meilleur !
4:18 That poor german tank, which were the Germans waiting so much, gets destroyed in the first second of the combat .
one of the best in back !!
lcm how long does it take for the brickwarlord soldiers to arrive? I want to place an order for Christmas and I don't know when they will arrive.
It depends on the coutry. The main problem for me was that I got everything from BuildArmy directly and they are in England and Im in Spain. And England is not in EU anymore and now we have borders, customs and taxes. And my parcel spent about 2 weeks on a customs in Madrid.
You are spanish
I am spanish
Nice! This is awsome man!🎉

Average lego lore from when we were children
nice vid! I really like the final fight beetween the french and the german soldier.
They fought till the end... RIP both of them

That French tank looks so cool.
Awesome animation, great job as always
thank you for my childhood legocrazymation i love you dmtiri
Awesome minis, outstanding vid and i love the most the fight scene where the German soldier went hand to hand with the French soldier. The Frenchie is brave for sure even with a knife in his back continues to fight and they both died congrats have a nice weekend!!👏👏🙌🙌👌👌

The fight in the house turned out to be very tense und sad😕
This was awesome keep up good work
thank you!
great work!! Im happy the french are getting some recognition for their bravery in ww2 i would like to see you make some stop motions with operation torch since that also features some vichy french soldiers! :)
Lcm brickshows rise has started again
Me: gets afk for a minute LCM: makes dozens of interesting films.
LOL
The French really need that many flags to guide infantry and a tank the commander can just hop out and guide the driver and the commander could tell them we’re to position the infantry
Great attention to detail!
Learning history in school: ☠️ Learning history from brick films: 🗿
A good video as always.

when i was a kid i always wanted to do a lego animation video
Well... I started to make animations when I was already an adult so its not a problem )
STOPMOITON BOSS IS BACK
Thanks ) But Im far from number 1. So Im just doing my best )
Vive la France encore une belle animation
Thank you for those allied lego pieces for dying to protect us🫡
2:30 The dialogue from this scene is actually from a world war 2 short film called "Mochaisk" if I'm not mistaken. It was made by ParaLightWorX and they got really good content. I'm pretty sure this particular scene was also based from the short film. I hope im not the only one who noticed this. Either way, fantastic job my man! Keep up the good work! 😄😄
really good animation i like it! XD
Thanks )
Can you do a animation on the battle of Gembloux
This teaches me more than my history teacher
you have the unique ability to make every viewer feel special!
😉👍Very greatly and spectacularly wonderfully nicely well done and just as fabulous as part 1 indeed Sir's!👌.
LOVE THIS!!!
Well the battle of Belgium was an most likely unfair battle cause of the lack of Equipment and technology of the Belgiums (For people who dont know the belgiums still had 1918 uniform and weapons the only jing they invested where in fortified positions which didnt helped)
well they did what they could
@@LCMhistory yeah that's true
Amazing job on this. I have a question where do you get all your lego weapons you used for this?
Can I ask you one question? it seems to me that it was necessary to include in the animation of the battle in the approaches to the city. what do you think?
Well, that part where german soldiers had a dialogue is considered the way to the city itself
@@LCMhistory there was not enough fragment anyway
@@user-vk6nu3zc2i I guess you might be right. But at the same time people dont like a long pre-battle story. I see my channel statistics and I know that most of people skip the first part and jump directly to the battle animation. In this video pre-battle part was long enough and to add another "walking" part could be critical boring for the audience
@@LCMhistory what a pity . Maybe you will Dmitry head channel on "buzy" for full animation ( toot for all fragments of battle)
Great job! i loved stop motion!
another great creation
thank you!
WOW NICE MAN

Awesome vid bud.

Like always just perfect and has a french I love this animation more 🇨🇵
Thank you! Merci!
Extremely good ✌️
thank you!
Awsome work man by the way where u get the german soldier shouts sound effect
J'adore l'animation!
Awesome, I recognise that audio is from Parallel Studios! 👍
Yeah.. ParaLight WorX.. Found that part interesting for my animation.
Good job
thanks )
How to make such smooth steps in animation? I did at 18 fps, but then the head is very much flying and shaking in the video, what can I do to prevent this? Thanks
First of all you fave to fix the plate. Tape or smth heavy. Then you have to make pictures with "no hands"- remote control. Next thing - try to move minifigs "slowly" and try to hold the angle for the body wothout leaning back and forward every step - the body has to preserve more or less the same angle
6:15-6:52 saving private Ryan reference
Well... maybe I was inspired without knowing it lol. I mean after I already made a scene and was working on sound effects and added those footsteps I also recalled SPR movie. But in general was making "my own" view of the battle
Great video
thanks )
What app do you use for the blood effect?
Action Essentials 2 - it's a pack of pre-keyed footages. Suits for any editing software
If anyone is wondering what rifles the French used during ww2 they used the MAS rifle the ones on screen are lebls
Lebel rifles were in use till the end of ww2
@@LCMhistory and Berthier rifles (a slight improvement over Lebel).
@@CipiRipi-in7df But Im limited to the rifles made by Brickarms ) They never did Berthier rifles
@@LCMhistory .. I see. Anyway, there are not major external differences between Lebel and Berthier rifles.
Great work
thank you!

2:38 - 3:01 paraLight worx voice?
Yeah!
Yes. Actually found them by chance when was searching for the sounds at youtube. And loved theirs videos. Made a credits in video and in the description and maybe someone else will find them
@@LCMhistoryoh ok
The French had the advantage in tanks like the somua s 35 and char b1 but it’s their tactics that didn’t go well and Germany had better trained soldiers and tactics so I feel sorry for the French.
Please build a Lego version of the July 15 failed military coup attempt in Turkey ❤🇹🇷
Not sure I have proper minifigs...
@@LCMhistory You only need modern soldiers, a few tanks, civilian legos and some Turkish flag. If you can make a small Turkish flag, it will not be a problem, but the Turks who love you will be happy, you are durable but if we don't, it's still no problem, you are loved. ❤
@@LCMhistoryYes,he is right, I am Turkish and I would be very happy if you make July 15th as Lego, you are loved my friend. ❤🇹🇷

Man I love the video but I’m afraid that you forgot about the civil war video! You had said that it would be done by the end of the year! I’m only kidding but keep up the great work man!
But you are right... I need to finish it. The problem was with the views. When it was uploaded it got very little views and I had to switch the project. Im a youtuber and views are my money fro the food and bills. So no views = I have to stop the project
@@LCMhistoryI totally understand. I wouldn’t make a video on a subject that no one will watch. Do what you love not what others love. (And that puts food on the table of course)
Love seeing that tactical assault pan 😂
I have a question where do you buy the lego german minifigs
In this animation my German soldiers were from the Brickwarlord. But actually i get them from a lot of different shops. I have a video called "where to get military lego" and it has all the info and all links you might need
@@LCMhistory thank you so much I leve your lego videos and I'm going to see if they aren't too expensive, obviously I'm not a millionaire, greetings
How many hours each day do you spend making an animation?
A lot of... at least 4. But usually 8 ... sometimes 12-13. Every animation has several days of production when I work more than 12 hours on it
With every Stop motion you turn better, i have one question: do you like 1:30 or 1:45 more?
You mean the decorations?
@@LCMhistory Scale
@@zocker2779 Hah, lol, it showed like time code so I checked both and tried to guess what you were talking about... The scale of course I like more 1ˆ45, its more realistic and close to the minifigure scale. But its hard to find sets in 1.45. Usual scale is like 1.35
@@LCMhistory Thats a good joice I have very much tanks from BuildArmy too. Do you know Panzerbricklabs? He's doing a great job for the 1: 45 group as usual I like both scales. Like u say 1: 30 is better to get and 1: 45 is better for minifigs.
Next viedo should be about the battle of Alamo.
I have it in my plans
I like that the german officer finally fight personally using his c96 at the last
nah its a 10000/10 How long did it take you?
This one - a month
