Marc Marquez is DONE with Gresini Ducati? | MotoGP News | MotoGP 2024
This year, Marc Marquez left his longtime affiliation with Honda to join Gresini Ducati, though his contract there is only for a year.
It implies that conversations on his plans for 2025 may start right away.
It’s not yet the MotoGP silly season, but the rider market for 2025 is already stirring up conversation thanks to the first two confirmations: Fermín Aldeguer, who signed with Ducati to advance to the premier class with one of its satellite teams, and Francesco Banaia, who renewed with the same company. What additional actions, though, are possible?
There are 22 riders in the MotoGP grid on average, two from each of the 11 teams. That figure will rise in the Spanish Grand Prix next week, possibly reaching 26 bikes on the grid.

MM93 doesn’t need a factory seat he just needs a machine which is equal to the latest factory bike toys..
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂yes of course 😂😂😂 FQ20 need the same and ACOSTA TOO😂😂😂😂😂😂What a fanboy!!!

He needs to retire he's done and he knows it
What he needs is to gtfo of GP. He’s just dangerous at this point. He was once great… now he’s a hazard to everyone on the track.
Another hater. You are so boring.@@user-ce7xw3fx6q
Still so much hate for marc, its the medoa which are winging it up. He's already admitted hes not longer as competitive and dominant. Regardless what you think of him he's still great for the sport. Want a safe race without incidents? Go watch tennis or maybe golf...
OR F1 😂 Shot fired
I was never a Marc fan. After watching how Repsol let him down I can’t help but sympathize for him. There is no doubt he’s an amazing rider. These talks are crazy! Give the guy a chance! He’s only just begun to understand the Ducati. And he’s already at the front!!!!!!
Even before MM93's move to Gresini, i was already personally thinking that his riding style is a much better fit with KTM than Ducati. Since we have the same riding style and i have both a CBR and an RC 😂
Ducati should dump Pecco , keep Enea and get Martin . Give Gresini 2 new 24 Ducati's .
Dump a recent 2 time world champion 🤣 thank fuck Ur not in charge at Ducati 🤣
Far to much speculations for my taste,...only rumors : (
From what I understand, Marc's GP23 is that from early 2023, that is, before it got updates and became much better in the latter part of the year. If/when he gets that version of the GP23, he will be just fine, not that he is doing bad right now.
He will 💯 win on the GP23, qualifying well and his race pace is there, been on the bike 6 months after only riding a Honda for over a decade..... just a matter of time now.
He has Zarco's bike from last year which won a race late in the year.
He just set a lap record on that GP23 in Jerez. I mean it was later broken by Pecco. It's still faster than everyone else besides Pecco. MM set a faster lap than Martin, Bastanini, and Bez.
@@DroneStrike1776 Pecco was faster than Marquez by .20, the difference between the lap records is actually what Ducati claims the GP24 vs GP23 gain is.....quite amazing. But it looked like Marquez was loosing drive off the corners at the end so his rear was going away vs Pecco on the GP24 was not having this issue. Great race and any bozo that was saying Marquez should retire is just a hater cuz you can't be watching the same qualifying sessions and races I'm witnessing....haha
@@Bullet62013 curiously at the test yesterday Marquez tried a thumb brake. This is supposedly an aid in corner exit drive
Marc you know what Ducati did to Rossi.... Move forward my love 🤩😍 you are greater than they can support
only one best bike can handle Marc Marquez talent and style of riding
Marc would have won the race in Austin hadn't it been for his faulty brakes. His pace was top notch.
If you all think Mark is finished and should retire ask yourself this....How is he qualifying so well on a supposed inferior GP23? Why is his race pace faster than factory rides on GP24? How the hell did MM work his way to the lead at COTA having to pump the front brake lever, imagine trying to ride the limit with inconsistent braking......ridiculous. I was a huge Rossi fan so I'm no MM fan boy but your hatred for the guy is clouding reality.....lol.
@@Bullet62013 I think your post landed kind of in the wrong spot 😂
I think your right....lol
It would be WISE for MM to stay at Gresini. At least for a couple of years. First there is absolutely NO PRESSURE to win a championship with it, because hey, it's a year-old bike and a satellite team. That alone relieves a ton of pressure. Which in turn would allow him to ride better. Second, it's proven to be fast and capable (of winning) had he not crashed.
I actually hope he stays on Gresini, even ends his career there by making it "his" team in that he pulls sponsors into the team and builds it up. IMO being on a year-old bike is a disadvantage but not a huge one as he has access to mountains of data from last year too. They can't do much about the physical engine differences between '23 & '24, but everything else can be upgraded or adjusted as the season wears on.
Marc will almost have to move. This year, the GP23 is inferior to not just the GP24, but the Aprilia as well as the KTM too. In 2025, he simply can't afford to repeat the same mistake of riding on a year old inferior bike. Unless Ducati is willing to provide one GP25 to Gresini, i.e. for Marc, if not he must move. Marc has said it himself, he is in MotoGP because he still wants and thinks he can win, so going for podium is simply not good enough for him. He is used to having factory support, he understands full well what that is like. Factory Ducati has a riders program, if they don't want to upset their riders by bringing someone in from outside, then let them have Martin if he continues to do well. I believe the smart move could be Aprilia. You could even argue they might have the best bike now plus they still have concessions. If Vinales can win on the Aprilia, I don't see how Marc can't.
ITALIAN'S like : we don't like Marc Marquez, no newest bike for him,Bagnaia is our boy. AUDI like : We are here to win but Vinales won 3 of last 4 races and rookie Acosta is toying with our factory boys. Marc showed in this 3 races that he is at least a class above Alex, Bez and DiGa, he is fast on old bike as Bagnaia, Martin and Enea on superior new bike. Give that man a faking factory bike 😃
@@damirdamir1180 What the Italians think don't really matter much in the bigger scheme of things because it is now owned by Audi (German) like you said. You could see how much they wanted Marc on the Desmo. The moment he joined Gresini, they immediately gave him a RS6 Avant Performance and his brother a RS4 Avant to get the marketing machine rolling. Could they tell Ducati to give Marc a GP25? Sure they can. But, a GP25 with Gresini or with factory Ducati? There is a difference between having 5 Ducati technicians in the Gresini garage vs a whole factory. Of course is still early days, you want to see whether the Aprilia winning ways continue, if it does it will be more about what Marc wants. Plus, I am pretty sure Massimo would love to have Marc riding an Aprilia. If you ask me now and if I were Marc, I could see myself picking Aprilia if I am being honest. Remember, is no coincidence Vinales have now won 1 race and 2 sprints.
Well this comment did age well. Jerez showed the GP23 is more than capable and doesn't struggle with tire chatter like the GP24. He broke the lap record at one point. Finished 2nd.
@@DroneStrike1776 2024 still better. Martin was leading when he crashed,Bagnaia won. Bastianini said 'I had a better pace but I wasn't able to pass Binder 20+ laps", that's why he finished 8 seconds behind Bagnaia.
Marc is coming!!! Brilliant race. Two true champions fighting it out to the end.
Factory team and umpteen PR commitments or, a privateer team and a competitive bike and far fewer PR commitments. I’d take the privateer team. More likely KTM/Gas Gas.
Unless Miguel and Raul can start showring some podiums for Trackhouse, dump them both, give Marc a current factory Aprilia and a current factory Aprilia for Jorge and you have an instant superstar team on full factory bikes . Aprilia wins, the riders have top notch full factory bikes and the sponsorship deals will mostly pay for the costs. Boom 💥
HELLLO MOTOGP, IM SMELL IT , ONCE MARC MARQUEZ GET THE TEAM KTM , DUCATI IS FINISH . KTM IS MORE FASTER AND POWERTFUL MOTORCYCLE. MARK MY WOED GUYS
He should stay with Repsol Honda with Jorge Martin.
Always an excuse. The Honda is too slow. The Ducati has brake issues. Blah blah blah.
Marc always has a problem, I think it's him that's the problem, you don't see anyone else washing out the front, gp25 or not it wouldn't make a difference for marc
Prima Balerina time is over, finally.
When Acosta goes to Ducati. That will be it until atleast 2030. VR MM.........PA
Mark will go to ktm My bet
Unless Fernandez is not renewed I don't see that happening. IMO Miller and Acosta swap places in 2024. Acosta is not signed. He will demand a KTM over Gas Gas.
@@sburns2421KTM and Redbull will do everything to have Marc on factory KTM or GasGas with factory bike like Acosta has now.
@@kateanderson8623 KTM did seem to have a keen interest in Marquez before he signed his huge HRC contract. The bike was not competitive and IMO the offer had little interest for Marquez. Times now are different. Marquez is much older. The KTM is much better. And Acosta is their golden boy. KTM will do everything to ensure Acosta stays, he is not signed for 2025 yet. Binder is under contract, Acosta will demand the other KTM. GasGas is the same as Pramac, factory bike in other colors but not the same thing as being on the factory team. I don't see KTM doing anything with Marc unless they think Acosta will leave, which seems unlikely. The kid will get millions. Only possibility is Marc signs with Gresini and they then switch to KTM to run as Husqvarna. Very unlikely.
@@sburns2421 I agree with you and at the same time Brad binder is not Marc Marquez. All the manufacturers on the grid will do anything to have Marc Marquez at their team why because he is still faster even with a year old bike. All the factory bikes are faster than gp23 bikes this year and everyone understands it by margin but Marc is the only rider on gp23 bike fighting with gp24 bikes this year and that tells you how fast Marc is as a rider and to have him at your team is gold and no one will pass this by especially KTM and Redbull. Between him and binder they will not think twice because Marc and Acosta will fight the Ducatis every single weekend hands down. They will take the fight to the Ducatis and KTM and Redbull will want that do badly. And that’s why Marc said few days ago that all the doors are open for him. Marc and Acosta to fight the Ducatis is what KTM and Redbull are thinking right now. They will put binder on GasGas with miller and of course all will be on factory bikes as well.
@@kateanderson8623 Binder has a contract for next year. Only realistic scenario is Acosta and Marquez on KTM and Binder demoted to GasGas, which he certainly does not deserve given his performance. Seems like a good way to lose Binder once his contract expires.
Donny Pedrosa?? and learn how to pronounce Martin in Spanish. Hard to believe anything said.
Honestly what a load of muck raking garbage ! Try reporting something interesting and factual
If MotoGP ever wants to be taken more serious, at least in the U.S., they need to start racing every weekend. Baseball is every day almost, the NBA plays multiple times a week, Football is every week, MotoAmerica is every weekend, Supercross and Motocross are every weekend, NASCAR every weekend. For MotoGP to race very other week and once a year in each host country is ridiculous. And then they take the summer off!?!?! People lose interest between races because the gap is too long. It's hard to take MotoGP serious when MotoGP doesn't seem to take racing serious.
It's a world sport they have to travel from country to country with all the equipment and set up for the weekend , we'd all love it on every weekend but it's not possible
You do know there’s a world outside of the US don’t you 😂😂😂
@@mkd6702 Blah, blah, blah, I've heard that argument before, it's bullshit, stupid answer, I don't buy it, it's not an answer at all, it's an excuse for their laziness. Since you may need help understanding outside of what you were programmed to believe, I'll break it down for you, this is what everyone else does: So after the race on Sunday, the race the crew tares down and packs up for their stuff for the shipping guys, once it's all ready and the shipping crew shows up, the racing crew goes home. Either Sunday evening or Monday morning the shipping crew takes off for the next location. The shipping crew goes with and assures the equipment gets to the next destination safely and on time. We have airplanes today!! They even use them now in MotoGP!! This may come as a shock to you, but if you get on an airplane on one side of the world, you can be on the other side of the world the next day!!! Once the equipment is there, Tuesday or Wednesday, the shipping crew gets the weekend off. Wednesday or Thursday the mechanics,, owners and riders (racing crew) shows back up and unpacks their stuff. I realize this is probably to complicated for you because you don't think for yourself and were told by the rich people running MotoGp why they don't want to work that hard, and you excepted it. And since your next argument will be, "they have to take the summer off because it's too hot to race". That's bullshit also. This may also be hard for you to believe and understand, but for half the world, it's winter the same time it's summer for the other half. For instance, in North America or Europe, it's summer in July. For South America and Australia, it's winter in July. Shocking!!! If they wanted to race in summer they could, there are plenty of locations that are NOT hot in July!!! There are even place like Canada and Northern Europe that are quit comfortable in July and August. They are just lazy and people like you will buy their lame excuses so they get away with it. So my point is, if MotoGP was serious about racing, which they are not, they would start racing every weekend, there is NO reason not too other than laziness from rich people.
@@midhc5072 Yes, your point is? My point is they were just here for a race, no one knew or cared. I understand in Italy for instance it's probably much more popular. My comment said if they ever want to start being taken serious here in the States, they can't race 2 times a month and expect to gain any following. They might as well take the U.S. off the schedule.
@@rebelrog2870 The point is the world outside the US is more important for the manufacturers. Better circuits too.
false claims about MM leaving Gresini, that's why i do not subscribe to your channel
MM93 is a Spanish nationalist rider who played king maker in 2015. He does not deserve to be on a Ducati any more than other riders that respect the tradition of GP competition. He has already started his reckless head games with Bagnaia causing a crash. He is a unclean rider and does not deserve his current ride. No other rider got to have the Honda TC electronics when the MM93 rat was in his hey day. Shame on Ducati for giving this rat a good seat that they could have handed to other more deserving riders like Acosta, Quaturaro or Binder.

You can shift blame around, however in all these accidents there is one common denominator. Marc Marquez.
I agree with you. Rossi hit his apex and then faded. Marquez has hit his and is fading. He'll win a race here and there like Rossi did, but now he's the veteran and there are younger, hungrier, less comfortable riders where he once was.
Gresini will appreciate having a rider that isn’t working on his Crash out Abilities when Marc leaves …
He must of stayed on long enough to win 8 WCs, huge points difference to win just after half season, having many many poles…. Only thing crashed is your lack of common sense and intelligence which seems you’re in deficit..
This a great MotoGP season. All of these riders have incredible talent that deserves huge respect.
Marquez has definitely had his best days you can't stay at the top forever
Who in their right mind would want a Bitcoin investment as a store if value that has a roller coaster financial existence.? If you had invested $60k Dollars in September 2022, your so called purchasing power would have collapsed to $15.6k by November 22. Hardly a stable alternative currency that erodes wealth by 74% in matter of days. Bitcoin has done this many times before and will probably continue to do so again when stock market declines.
