In this woodturning video I will recycle a firewood distanced log to turn it into a stunning hybrid vase. I used green mix powder with deep pour epoxy resin to stabilised this wood so it can be transformed into a truly one of a kind hybrid art project. Turned and shaped on the lathe and finished with several layers of clear gloss lacquer to pop the colours and provide long lasting protection

From worthless firewood to priceless artwork. Excellent job David.
I love watching you creating these masterpieces from wood that the rest of us would either toss or burn.
What a stunning vase - beautiful combination of the wood and green resin - simply perfection, very well done! 👍👏
I love your hybrid of color and wood :D
Wow! That is stunning. The green colour really shows off the wood. 👏😮💥🇦🇺
Very beautiful! The green is gorgeous. 🤩
Absolutely gorgeous green!!!

A very beautiful vase David.
That came out beautiful 😍
Great work sir! Love the steady rest you used/made. Being a machinist myself I appreciate your skills!

Hello David the wood has some wonderful grain in it and it goes really with the green resin. The vase is magnificent and unique I really love like it well done and thank you for an awesome video. Amanda xx
That sure is a pretty piece of firewood, David, ❤😊❤, Dona USA
Beautiful piece of wood 👏👏
Absolutely amazing 😮
I always enjoy your videos. That green is beautiful, and the vase is gorgeous! Well done!
I ❤ the fact that the green isn't an "here I am in your face" green. It looks like a mix of emerald and forest, stunning work. Too bad you're in the UK and not in the states.
Very, very nice!
Gorgeous
Very pretty! 👌🙌🙌
Beautiful
What a beautiful vase David beautifully done
Beautiful. The emerald color is great.
So beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Incredible piece, very nicely done. Thanks for the inspiration as always. Stay safe.
WOW!
Thanks 👍
Thumbs 👍
Very nice. Great color wish tho that you showed the mica powder brand and color. 😊
It turned out beautifully. Do you always scrape and sand or do you ever use any gouges to turn? Very nice finish. Do you always use rattle can lacquer for your finishes? Looks like great results. Do you sand between coats?
So beautiful, congratulations!! I have a question; do you wear a full filtration mask when grinding down epoxy? Do others working in this medium, or is it not really a concern? Thanks for your time, and this post.
Beautiful! Did you use a vacuum or pressure pot before turning your vase?
What kind of epoxy?
Show me finished piece before video. This was nice, lots of time invested but not anything I would ever invest my time pursuing.
turning kinda worthless stuff into art - awesome
Absolutely stunning, really admirable work there.well done sir👍
