    • That's part of it, yes.

      @EinarrRohling@EinarrRohling9 ай бұрын
    • The idea is that people need to be armed at all times to form a militia at a moment's notice. The federal government didn't always have an army, and the founding fathers knew, (from other documents they wrote we know they did) that ANYONE in power could one day try to take the people's rights again. So the founding fathers made sure that the people would know they had the God-given right to protect themselves from tyranny, both in owning arms individually and in forming militias to stand against enemies both foreign and domestic. We are supposed to have the right to defend ourselves with the same manner of arms that anyone has reasonable access to and a government that tries to limit that right isn't a legitmate one from the standpoint of the constitution.

      @LG-pt5kt@LG-pt5kt9 ай бұрын
    • @LG-pt5kt good answer, but you also feed into the gun control argument to limit inalienable, natural, Constitutionally protected Rights with your "reasonable access" clause. No, not "reasonable access", the Founders intended the People to be able to seem themselves equal to any potential threat. Remember, in their day, everybody owned personal arms equal to our better than those of the best professional armies', they poured their own cannon at their own foundries, they outfitted private warships. No, there is no Constitutional justification for the courts or anybody else to claim "reasonable access" as a justification OR limitation to a citizens 2A Rights.

      @EinarrRohling@EinarrRohling9 ай бұрын
    • as an aussie thats how i read it too

      @NebulatheZorua@NebulatheZorua2 ай бұрын
    • @@LG-pt5kt Even though it might be the case that forming a militia would be necessary to protect the US land in times of conflict, nowadays it still has a purpose in empowering the people as a fail-safe against the government pushing them down. Like a deterrent where the people will have arms to protect against or protest against an illegitimate government that infringes on the people's rights when it gets out of hand. And it makes sense that the ATF and some states pass laws that progressively try to limit the ability for people to have their own weapons, today's governments don't seem too keen on not exploiting people. In short, even if there isn't a necessity of a militia for national defense today, it still gives power to the people should the people need it in times where the government oversteps their boundaries and endangers the country, which is for the people. Not the government itself. That's how I interpret it from an outsider's perspective.

Just to let you know, the actual town of Goodsprings, Nevada has begun hosting an annual convention in celebration of Fallout, because the tourist traffic they've received since the release of New Vegas has put them back on the map. • If you're going to do a New Vegas build, I have a suggestion. The Survivalist Rifle. Its a special variant of the service rifle in the Honest Hearts DLC that has a pretty badass story behind it. It has some of the best stats in the game and in chambered in 12.7 instead of the standard 5.56. While the game never specifies case size I think its safe to assume .50 beowulf would be the closest irl counterpart. The stock is carved with "stop" on one side and "arrêt" on the other side, which makes sense within the lore of the owner being not someone who wants to kill but has to. Personally its my dream build and I'd love to see it come to life on your channel.

St Louis regularly competes for the #1 spot for highest homicide rate in the country. the fuck the ATF bill in MO was deemed unconstitutional ironically lol "JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A Missouri law banning local police from enforcing federal gun laws is unconstitutional and void, a federal judge ruled Tuesday. U.S. District Judge Brian Wimes ruled the 2021 law is preempted by the federal government under the U.S. Constitution’s supremacy clause. “At best, this statute causes confusion among state law enforcement officials who are deputized for federal task force operations, and at worst, is unconstitutional on its face,” Wimes wrote."

  • 2:10 During the trial, an expert ATF agent testified that he attempted to make 4 Lightning Links. Three didn't work and the fourth cycled once but didn't fire a second round. I wonder how long it would take an expert ATF agent (or a licensed FFL such as Brandon) to turn a wire coat hanger into a functioning machine gun component. Or a shoelace.

    @tc6818@tc6818 Жыл бұрын
    • Using that same business card you could probably make a functional swift link in under 30 mins. Its what the "coat hanger machine gun" falls under and can literally be just a straight strip of metal with very specific bends. The fact that it was a lightning link design makes it even harder to make functional because Im pretty sure you need a different BCG than the standard Full-Auto profile carrier everyone has nowadays. Almost like the whole thing was a joke and not made to actually be turned into a functional part...

Then again I had a lot of trouble paying attention in school and am still baffled by most of the technical aspects of English, even though I was reading adult books by the time I was in the second grade and have never had any issues at all with understanding or using the language (aside from occasionally realizing that I have been doing something wrong for decades every now and then. Like I thought I had nailed down affect/effect ten years ago and I only just realized a couple weeks ago I was still doing it wrong the whole time). But I still have no idea what a conjugated verb is or a subjunctive. I just know how the language works and know when it's wrong and when it's right. Usually.

  • Brandon, I think making a weapon from Fallout New Vegas is a great idea. Since an Alien Blaster is probably out of the question, an NCR issue Patrol Rifle will work just fine for me. And if you can't find wood furniture for it I would suggest getting the original A1 fiberglass wrapped in a wood grain. There is also a company in Florida that has a kind of water process where they can transfer all kinds of patterns and finishes on compound surfaces by submerging the object and floating the pattern onto them. They specialize in firearms and have an FFL on staff, but will apply a wrapped finish to nearly any object. I think they have some KZhead videos. Last I checked they priced doing a complete AR furniture set; butt stock, hand guard, and pistol grip, for around $100, but that was a while ago. Also the owner told me the lead time was about 30 days, but for you I bet he'd do it quicker for a mention on your show. Right now in game I'm almost at the point where I have to kill Mr. House, and I always hate doing that. But I've never done it with an NCR rifle before. I've beaten him to death with a club, zapped him with energy weapons, I even killed him bare handed once. Maybe you could arrange a IRL demo with an NCR rifle? The we can celebrate his demise with some Fancy Lad Snack Cakes (AKA Twinkies).
