Rowlett at 80 - Exhibition Video

Watching George work was like watching a cat hunting: complete stillness and concentration, an arrested pose, followed by fast, fluid, movements. Every day he would disappear to the lake shore where he would stand in the teeth of the weather under a great oak tree … The resulting work was not just evocative, but more moving and passionate than I could have imagined!

Great talent, great work; inspiring to watch the creative process; the hard work appearing “effortless”; may God grant this man many more years of work and the joy the work brings!!!!
i have the privilege and honour of knowing George ...he is an amazing man with a great sense of humour
Reminding me off Vincent Van Gogh's amazing powerful paintings. ❤🙏🇬🇧
For those who don't already know, George used exclusively just a putty knife and sometimes a finger or two to paint these and his other paintings. He angst over every detail, and then with with a galp of paint on the knife he made his stroke. No one like him. The self portrait at the end was painted when he was 80 years old as a consignment. Well can't say enough, so I'll leave it at that
he is dead ?
never had heard of him until recently, he has huge talent
The gesture of the stroke of paint is breath taking to me! Energy and movement really makes the picture come to life for ne. Thanks!
This guy is a genius
I love these paintings! And hats off to the curator. Beautifully hung.
The paintings defy reality. Can the paint really be this alive?
Stunning painter!!!
Thank you rowlett
Brilliant. This is painting.
Humor. Láskavosť. Tvorivosť. Obdovujem . 😊
And it truly moves me emotionally.
Amazing depth and colour. Each stroke has feeling. Beautiful art.
Love this work. Powerfull ...
Extraordinário

สุดยอดดด
So much beautiful emotion WOW!
Breathtaking!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
thank you for zooming in on the goobs
It's alive.
With respect one would suggest that before the camera takes the detail close ups of the work we see a shot of the Complete painting.
😱🤝. إحتراماتي سيد george rowlett
Great artist thank you.
It looks as if the paint is still wet on some. So beautiful.
Juicy, delicious and underrated. LOVE!
ПОТРЯСАЮЩЕ !... TOTALY AMAISING !...
Unusual and powerful work. I am a painter also.
How do you varnish something like that? With that such thick paint it would be really hard to get an even coating right?
Just wonderful ❤ really wish I knew what kind of paint he uses.
Not sure of the brand, but it comes in large plastic tubs - specially made for thick impasto painting.
the camera is moving way too much, find it hard to enjoy the beautiful paintings.
Wery rowery lubię taką grubą fakturę stwarza dodatkową głębię i te pastelowe kolory rzucone jakby niedbale a jednocześnie w jedyne dla nich miejsce na świecie pozdro z Polski 😀👍
I find the effect given by really thick oil paint, rather moving and beguiling, especially as presented by the great GR. I’ve never tried it myself, as I’d panic if I was to put out any more than a vapour of paint from a tube. I gave up on oil paint eventually and found watercolour more suited to my timid style.
How can i get in touch direct with artist to buy one their great auerbach esk but also stand alone
❤
A great artist!??
How would I get a painting

Великий живописець.
How do you get paint that thick to dry?
He must wait months or add a drying agent already mixed in as I don't see him add anything when I watch him paint. I asked the same.
Amazing work, music sounds depressing tho😂
Wonderful work, however, the filming of it was off. Give a view of each painting from a distance then a close up.
beautiful. wish they weren't framed for some reason.
На любителя......
I love the Art and the Studio space is beautiful but .... the cat on the piano is annoying !!!
Who can i contact about acquiring a painting to hang in my home
I love the painting per se, however I just think being so realistic and pretty is a bit lacking in creativity and stretching the mind and visual language. I know the artist could do greater visual statements if he push himself and became more daring visually. I don't say this to offend, but it's just my perspective.
Really are you a painter, obviously not. His work is his own and I would be honored to have one. So make what you think he is not.
push himself ? it say he is 80 yo, he is perfect
Good sense of color not very dinamic paintings my opinion a bit overplayed
They seem like very sad paintings.
