Viewers would recognize that most of this lecture was taken from my book entitled THE QUR'AN AND THE MOON - hence I have sometimes referred in this talk to 'readers' rather than 'viewers'.

‘Knowing’ Truth and ‘tasting’ Truth are not the same! Unless and until you fly on the wings of time, swim in the ocean of time, lose consciousness of time in a timeless world, you have not as yet ‘tasted’ Truth! The Qur’ān must be recited with the ‘moon’, and then studied like the ‘stars’, precisely for that excitement-to ‘taste’ Truth! Those whose moon is located in Saudi Arabia or Morocco, even though they are in London, do not know that, and perhaps will never know it. But you, our gentle readers, now know it; so, travel on with the Qur’ān, and one day, perhaps, you may be blessed with an exciting experience of timelessness, -and, eventually, the ‘taste’ of Truth! «Connaître» la vérité et «goûter» la vérité ne sont pas les mêmes! À moins que, et jusqu'à ce que vous voliez sur les ailes du temps, nagiez dans l'océan du temps, perdiez conscience du temps dans un monde intemporel, vous n'avez pas en-core «goûté» la vérité! Le Coran doit être récité avec la «lune», puis étudié comme les «étoiles», précisément pour cette excitation - pour «goûter» à la vérité! Ceux dont la lune est située en Arabie saoudite ou au Maroc, même s'ils sont à Londres, ne le savent pas et ne le sauront peut-être jamais. Mais vous, nos aimables lecteurs, le savez mainte-nant; alors, continuez votre voyage avec le Coran, et un jour, peut-être, vous serez béni(e) avec une expérience passionnante d'intemporalité, et, fina-lement, le «goût» de la vérité!

Whenever sheikh imran talks deep topics like Baseerah, Noor , Khidr , Dahr etc , I just wish he had fluency in Urdu then he would have completely nailed the lecture. Urdu and Farsi really has that magical vocabulary. No disrespect to you my dear sheikh

I’m currently reading a book ‘The Fourth Turning’ where the authors explain theories of time. Over the millenia, man has developed three ways of thinking about time: chaotic, cyclical and linear. The first was the dominant view of primitive man, the second of ancient and traditional civilisations, and the third of modern West, especially America. In chaotic time, history has no path. Events follow one another randomly, and any effort to impute meaning to their whirligig succession is hopeless. Change in the natural world was utterly beyond human control or comprehension. The practical shortcoming of chaotic time is that it dissolves society’s connective tissue. If cause and effect have no linkage in time, people cannot be held morally accountable for their choices. Cyclical time originated when the ancients first linked natural cycles of planetary events( diurnal rotations, lunar months, solar years, zodiacal precessions) with related cycles of human activity (sleeping,waking; gestating, birthing; planting,harvesting;hunting,feasting). Unlike chaotic time, cyclical time endowed classical societies with a prescribed moral dimension, a measure by which each generation could compare its behaviour with that of it’s ancestors. Third option: linear time- time as unique (and usually progressing) story with an absolute beginning and an absolute end. Time begins with a fall from grace; struggles forward in an intermediate sequence of trials, failures, revelations, and divine interventions; and ends with redemption and reentry into the kingdom of God. We are bound to assume as a scientific hypothesis on which history is to be written, a progress in human affairs. The West began using technology to flatten the very physical evidence of natural cycles. With artificial light, we believe we defeat the sleep-wake cycle; with climate control, the seasonal cycle; with refrigeration, the agricultural cycle; with high tech medicine, the rest-recovery cycle. Before, people prized the ability to divine nature’s energy and use it. Today, we prize the ability to defy nature’s energy and overcome it. A linear society defines explicit moral goals( justice, equality) or material goals( comfort, abundance) and then sets out deliberately to attain them. When those goals are reached, people feel triumphant; when they aren’t new tactics are applied. Yet the great weakness of linear time is that it obliterates time’s recurrence and thus cuts people off from the eternal -whether in nature, in each other or in ourselves. Americans today fear linearism ( alias the American Dream) has run it’s course. Caught between the entropy of the chaoticists and the hubris of linearists, the American people have lost their moorings. Etymologically, the word time comes from tide- an ancient reference to the lunal cycle still retained in such expressions as “yuletide” and “good tidings”. The word period originally meant “orbit” as in “planetary period”. The word annual comes from annus, whose ancient root meant “circle.” The word year and hour come from the same root as the Greek horos, meaning “solar period.” The word month is a derivative of moon.

This is probably also connected to golden ratio or fibonacci code. Where our activities move accordingly in a cyclic sequence of events within a cyclic frame work. For eg. waking up to start the day and then ending it with sleep. That's a bigger cycle. Things we do in the course of the day fall within that completed daily cycle. I'm sure it can be more defined than that.
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As, may Allah be pleased with him, says: "On one occasion we were with the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, and wrote something, when someone asked him:' Which city will be conquered first, Constantinople or Rome? ' "Heraclius (Heraclius I, Eastern Roman Emperor, 575-641) city will be the first, ie. Constantinople "- replied the Prophet, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam. (Sahih - Ahmed 2/176, Al-Hakim 4/555)…

In the UK there is daylight savings time. It's so difficult to get into any routine and causes so much disruption to prayer times, fasting times, children's school and madrasah routines etc 😭

Jazak Allah khair. Hospitals are using a technique called "Proning" so Covid patients can breath better. They turn them on their stomach and on their back so they can breathe. Similar to Surah Al kahf, but that is to the right and to the left? Allah knows best 🏝 Thank God when you use that technique (proning) you don't need to put people in an induced coma In Sha Allah 😎

and how would you find the correct start day of Ramadan if you are not practicing the sunnah to look for the new moon on the 29th night of every month? if you see the new moon then the next month has started and if you have not then you must complete 30 days. We have 29 or 30 days in our months. you must follow the sunnah for all of our months.

Sura 9-Die Buße (at-Tauba) Verse-37 إِنَّمَا النَّسِيءُ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْكُفْرِ يُضَلُّ بِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُحِلِّونَهُ عَامًا وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُ عَامًا لِّيُوَاطِؤُواْ عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللّهُ فَيُحِلُّواْ مَا حَرَّمَ اللّهُ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ أَعْمَالِهِمْ وَاللّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ Deutsch Transliteration: İnnemen neßiu sijadetun fil kufri judallu bichillesine keferu juchillunechu amen we jucharrimunechu amen li juwatiu iddete ma harremallachu fe juchillu ma harremallach (harremallachu) , sujjine lechum suu a'malichim, wallachu la jechdil kawmel kafirin (kafirine). (Die unreinen Monate) Zu verlassen ist lediglich eine Vermehrung des Unglaubens. Die Leugner werden damit ab-wendig gemacht. Damit die Anzahl (Frist) dessen passt, was Allah für unrein erklärt hat (die unreinen Monate) , erklären sie ihn (den aufgeschobenen, verschobenen Monat) ein Jahr für rein und erklären ihn (den aufgeschobenen, verschobenen Monat) ein Jahr für unrein. Dadurch erklären sie für rein, was Allah für unrein erklärt hat. Ihre schlechten Taten wurden für sie geschmückt (schön gezeigt). Und Allah bekehrt kein Volk von Leugnern.
