    • no they aren't. Two different cars

      @josephmcintyre752@josephmcintyre7529 ай бұрын
    • @josephmcintyre752 Yes and No. The G8 /G8GXP and the Chevy SS are both Holden Commodores. The G8 was a VE Commodore and the SS was a VF Commodore. They are the same car but the VE/G8 was just the older version of the SS/VF. So they are NOT 2 different cars, they’re just the older and newer variants of the same car. So again it’s a yes and no situation. They’re different due to age and newer tech. But they are still from the same model line and are both Holden commodores. But yes they should have seperate entries. Or controversially should not be on the list at all as they aren’t “American” they’re Australian cars that were built left hand drive to be sold in the states. The only thing American about them is the motor and the fact GM owns Holden.

      @Cliffy1616@Cliffy16169 ай бұрын
    • @@Cliffy1616 sir, if Gm owns Holden, & they use LS engines, how much American, can it be. They were CHEVYS. Where is GM based again? Where did the money come from again? Just because they were assembled there, does not make it Austrialian. If everything about the car, comes from U.S, what does that mean, AMERICAN. HE WHO PAYS THE CO$T, IS THE BO$$. They were Pontiacs & CHEVYS, Australia were allowed, to build. Like the trucks sold here, are built in MEXICO, but MEXICO doesn't own 💩. Neither did HOLDEN

      @josephmcintyre752@josephmcintyre7529 ай бұрын
    • @@josephmcintyre752 where did the money come from? Australians WHO WERE BUYING HOLDEN’S, they never would have continued making them if Aussie’s weren’t buying them. Which in the end is what killed the Holden, they were getting to expensive to produce and still be profitable. But Holden only operated in Australia, Holden Commodores were only sold in Australia once they’d been rebranded from Opel’s. And from that point The cars were ALWAYS designed for Australia. The US receiving a few thousand left overs of the last models means nothing. The only reason the commodore survived for decades was because it was AUSTRALIAN’s buying them. Hell take the VF/SS. Between wagons, sedans and utes. 150k VF (Chevy ss) commodores were sold in Aus, Aus with a population of 28million. At a time when Commodores and Ford Falcon’s were falling in popularity and weren’t selling nearly as much as they once did. Vs the not even 15k delivered and sold in the US. Which has a population of what 330million? Your logic that GM owned Holden and therefore everything Holden created is American is incredibly arrogant. If they were “American” how come you NEVER had commodores throughout the 80’s and 90’s? And didn’t get them until the VE commodore/G8? Oh because they were never American, borrowing American parts because the cheap ass daddy company just wants to save money, because it was cheaper borrowing LS motors for the commodore than it was to continue producing their own V8’s. This doesn’t make the car “American”. It just makes GM cheap. Which is no surprise they came to this decision as GM are cheap money grubbing scumbags, who needed government bailouts just to survive. And reneged on their deal to stay in the Aussie market after running away with Aussie dollars. For them to indeed be Chevy’s and be “American” they’d need to have actually started and existed their at some point before Aussie land sent you some leftovers. Which they never did. The commodore started life as a German designed and built Opel Commodore before being picked up by Holden. Opel might have been a GM subsidiary but NOTHING about the early Opel commodore’s was American, aside from the fact GM owned Opel. Fact is aside from GM owning Holden, there was nothing American about the commodore until they started plonking LS motors in them. And even then that was all. Saying the commodore is American is like saying any Ford Falcon after 1972 is American. Which they just aren’t. Take a late model Falcon Xr6 turbo, aside from the ford badge nothing about the car is American. The motor was completely Australian designed and built as was the rest of the car even the auto ZF 6 speed is German built. Yet by your logic that ford badge makes it “American” even though you’d never even got them.

    • @@Cliffy1616 get out your feelings. There would be nothing to buy, if AMERICA didn't provide, the product. Why were you Aussies so mad when GM, shut it down, if it was your💩? Why didn't Australia, invest in itself, & keep it going. Whenever, you get through, they were CHEVYS, built down under. Like Nike shoes, are made in China, but no one mistakes Nike, as a Chinese company. Why are you Australians so butt hurt, about a product, that wasn't yours to begin with. GM was spending the money, they can change their minds, as they please, they owe AUSTRALIA NOTHING. END OF STORY. Go play with a wallabe, or something

  • The Cadillac STS-V should be on the list, too! North Star type: LC3 (4.4 liter V8) Horsepower: 470 Note: the LC3 is nothing like the early N* L37 and LD8 in the Seville, Deville and Eldorado. LC3 engines are bullet proof. 0-60: 4.8 sec Quarter mile: 13.3 sec Although the G8 GXP has an option of a manual, the first modern V8 sports sedan to have a manual is the first generation CTS-V

It beats the dodge red eye aby day....I have a 2024 full loaded blqckwing & it will make you blow eyes out rip your molars out. Be very careful. My #1 pick
