Or they are told that they should lie about the crimes they committed.

    @imagine3x@imagine3x4 жыл бұрын
    • I don't believe that most criminals actually care about the abused kids or women. Or that they want to do something good for society. Hurting the lowest in the prison hierarchy seems to be good for your own status and survival. By distancing yourself from the "creeps", you seem superior. Don't get me wrong, I find crimes against women and children terrible. I just don't think it's up to murderers, drug lords and robbers to act like they are entitled to sit in judgement.

You know how many people a day get false accused of crimes and let out. I'll admit I went to jail for battery on a officer and I wasn't in there longer for 5 days because it was under false accusation and the judge was sad to know another person got illegally detained. I could have sued the state for putting me in a position to forfeit my rights and freedom because bullies with guns wanted me to do what they wanted. Funny thing about living in America cops don't like freedom or the constitution it makes them feel weak to know the people have power and rights not even a badge and gun can take away and the cops didn't like that I knew my rights and wouldn't let them violate me.

One of the other 3 committed suicide coz othe inmates started torturing him. And the last 2 of them get hanged as per their death sentence. I still remember feeling so depressed about it. 💔💔

HOWEVER, I will say my friend talks about this one dude who is an exception. He got in much older than most (In his 50s/60s), zero priors, and is serving a life sentence for violently murdering his brother when he found out the brother had been molesting his daughters for years. This particular guy is not in a gang and doesn't hang out with any particular group. Everyone leaves him alone and will give him a head nod or a hello here or there on occasion. He doesn't do anything or etc. He just, like, has mad respect apparently. So I think there are CERTAIN crimes that will actually get you left alone/respect but it would need to be very rare/impressive like you did it for your family/stand by your people/honor/etc.

The damage was done, I don't know how many people I've known who have said that they'd kill anyone even accused of being paedophiles. Lies that have a high emotional response is often how people get the idea into peoples head that innocent people are victimised or entire populations because of it. Another thing is people talk about Aboriginals getting shorter sentences here HOWEVER this is in the same way that black/poor kids in America are forced into admitting a crime they didn't commit so they'd get a plea deal despite being innocent. Also it has the assumption of prison time such as white girl could get 8 months and aboriginal girl get 6 months, however another thin they forget is that prison time by the white girl is magically community service or something.

      @ADerpyReality@ADerpyReality4 жыл бұрын
    • I'm guessing that it depends on the country as to what it's called. As someone else said, there is no difference between jail and prison in the UK. The words are absolutely synonymous. I think that most European countries are much the same. I actually looked up the definitions in a US context and realized that the whole "county jail" thing is completely nonexistent here, and because most European countries are similarly structured, I'm guessing that they have similar systems. Basically there are categories of prisons here, depending on the seriousness of the crime, the danger that criminal poses for society and their likelihood to escape if possible. The category A being the worst. It gets "easier" (definitely in quotes) in a B and so on. Juvenile detention centres are for the under 18s, but I believe that some older teens (16-17) in for a serious crime can be sent to "adult prison" (though I do stand to be corrected on this point). Essentially all jails/prisons here are your equivalent of federal prison because they're all run by the govt. Hope this clarifies things a little.

  • 3 of my cousins have husbands in different prisons for drug-dealing, so sometimes I hear some jail gossip. Here in Brazil molesters, pedos, rapist, or other crimes to children, women or animals are not separeted. They will get beaten to death most of the time, or very near death. If they get separeted it will happen after they were almost killed by other inmates, for their protection. Honestly, knowing other criminals are beating the shit out of some sick bastards that raped children, women or animals makes me feel better. To me, crimes like these are unforgiveble. I don't feel bad at all for wanting these monsters to get beaten up when they did so much worse to innocent people. Edit: I don't know how female prison works out, but a friend of mine works in the justice field and she rarely see women with charges like those above, but she told me the few women charged with crimes against children will often get beaten up by the other women. • @@Brievel "blurry line"? Alright, I'll change. Here we have a guy who clearly intentionally misunderstands justice for revenge. His brain sees a opportunity to say a terrible thing and not only get away with it, but to also get praise for it, so, the brain forgets any morals a human is supposed to have and makes the human wish a morally bad thing to a human, full knowingly knowing that wishing such things to people is bad, no matter what. But of course the brain has an clever way to shutdown this knowledge and that is "feeling like a better human". This makes the human that blurred out this cap actually belive he is a better human, just because someone did something bad and you didn't. Egoism, hidden desire to watch people hurt is what drove that human to write such shit.

Though you're probably right that part of it is basic biology, it's probably also cultural as well. (Maybe for instance, in some countries "chomos" wouldn't be as hated among other criminals, but child-murders would be even more hated)

  • Did 4 1/2 years myself. A lot of these missed that there is a spectrum at least in some places on how inmates are classified (minimum, medium and max) based on what they did, how much time they’ll serve and how they are behaving while being classified which affects where they go and who they’ll be around. Mine was mostly minimum with some medium. In my experience, saying sex offenders are most despised is a misnomer. It’s really anybody who has preyed on the vulnerable. For example, one of the people I saw given the worst time was a guy who along with his girlfriend’s help murdered his grandma. In contrast, I’ve seen a number of guys who had charges with minors just under age of consent who minded their own business and were respectful to others who were able to get along fine; not necessarily liked by most but just ignored. As far as being respected, that’s more about what you do inside than what you did outside typically. It makes sense when you consider it from a practicality perspective: what inmates are having to deal with themselves is how you are acting then, not how you were acting before they knew you, and for their own part are trying to get by as stress free as possible since it sucks enough doing time as it is. That’s why regardless of what your charges are being respectful is key. To put it a different way, being a non-sex offender who is an obnoxious asshole is more likely to get you come after than being a sex offender that’s respectful and keeps to themselves from what I saw. Oh, and never snitch, and if you must gamble pay your debts off on time, for God’s sake. Snitching and being in debt are the two fastest tickets to hell.
