The 8th Wonder has defined and redefined cinema for over 90 years now, but is one of his more recent films the best in his catalog? I sure think so, come see if you agree!

  • The fact that King Kong makes me bawl my eyes out every time i see it says everything. I feel just like Anne in the movie, floored, flattened by the big guys horrible death. The scenes between Anne and Kong are just beautiful and poetic. I start crying toward the end when Kong mimicks Annes unwitting sign language for "Beautiful."

  • This isnt just a monster movie, every time I watch this movie Im left feeling something...that doesnt happen with most movies let alone a "monster flick"...that last line "twas beauty that killed the beast" always makes me ponder what this movie is really saying...and its a great classic movie you can watch on a sunday afternoon with the family...without a doubt head and shoulders above 90 % of other movies

  • I was seven when Peter Jackson's King Kong was released in theaters. I was too young at the time but then when I saw it years later it left an emotional impact on me.

  • Yes there is an almost LORD OF RINGS sense of fate about this version of KING KONG. (I also think her choosing to go on the journey was because of Driscol as well as because she has nothing to lose) Without charm NO Version of KING KONG works, I can see both human features & facial reactions in Kong's face, where they made the most of the CGI format (notice how there are far more facial reactions than in the original, which was a wise decision to do that). Real life Gorillas don't & probably can't make as many face reactions, BUT it works so well in this film to see something human there

  • Excellent points throughout this vid! This is my personal favourite recent King Kong film, even with its tremendous length. Even now, it would make a great half of a double bill with Godzilla Minus One.

  • The 1933 is the original classic, a masterpiece but the Kong in the 2005 version you could really connect with thanks to the modern CGI, I agree that the 2005 moved everything forward.

  • The scene on the ice is a tragic scene. This creature lived his whole life and it appears as though this was his first opportunity at having fun. He was laughing as he spun around on the ice, laughing with Ann, only to have the moment destroyed by people who just don't get it. I loved this movie, but at the same time, this movie brings something out in me that I don't like. It reiterates to me how morally corruptable the human race is. It shows me the true levels of evil that the human race has the potential for. It reiterates in me why I hate people and care more for animals than humans.

  • Excellent video! Except for one big detail; the musical score was composed by James Newton Howard (Signs, Blood Diamond, Dinosaur, Treasure Planet, Peter Pan, Maleficent, Hunger Games, Last Airbender, etc), not James Horner (Titanic, The Land Before Time, Star Trek the Wrath of Khan, An American Tail, Cocoon, etc).

  • Why are you taking bad about carl denham carl denham is not a bad Guy in this version maybe if you were talking about fred wilson from King Kong 1976 or the Carl denham of the cancelled King Kong 1996 than your comparison would make more sense but it doesn’t

    @henrymockingbird9645@henrymockingbird9645Ай бұрын
    • While Carl Denham is certainly not an antagonist in this film, he his certainly a morally corrupt character who puts a lot of people's lives in danger, most of the crew dying from this escapade on the island. I certainly love Jack black in this role and I think his character has a lot of charm and charisma but he is what he is, I didn't feel like I talked too badly about him, but the facts are there.
