  • the point is, basso profundo is an old russian tradition, and when sung in a chorus like this one, men like vladimir miller, pasjukov, and yuri whichniakov, can totally obliterate your body with goosebumps. Well yes JD Sumner HAS a deeper voice than. but it's not the deeper voice that is astounding it it how powerful and loud the voice is displayed, yuri wichniakov can go lower than vladimir pasjukov however vladimir's voice is more louder when he gets low.

  • I once read a comment from a bass singer who mentioned that he avoided talking before a performance because that helped him hit the lowest notes.Perhaps this might explain the failure to respond to your question.Glad you got to see this great artist in person.

I met him personally n shook his hand n asked him a question but did not talk back, why, I do not know. But never heard him talk in s natural setting without the side of a mike. On the other hand Big John Hall is a true bass n had a bigger voice than JD. meaning timber loudness, overall singing voice. Miller has a natural deep voice...fullness, unless u place these giants to a

  • Ужасный вокал , , а середина сипатая и раскаченая как будто певец лет сто пропел без отдыха. Есть пара нот в нижнем регистре , этот голос можно использовать только в хоре. , для сольной работы абсолютно не годится.

  • Well their goes your last argument that Russian Basso Profundo's are better than american ones he using a mic closer then ten feet.J.D Sumner beat the lowest note he hit here by an octave with out fry.not to mention he sang 5 or 6 keys below the piano at Elvis shows. He's awesome but America has basses just as low if not lower. not to mention all the records for low notes belong to Americans.

    @TheDixieBassMan@TheDixieBassMan11 жыл бұрын
    • TheDixieBassMan instead of claiming one is better than the other, most likely because of national bias, maybe you should focus on the music and acknowledge that they are different in music and in technique, so why compare?

      @aleksm3401@aleksm34016 жыл бұрын
    • TheDixieBassMan Your opinion is clearly biased.JD is one of the best American basses yet this guy makes him seem like a tenor kzhead.info/sun/qtV6ga2trKR9mHA/bejne.html

    • This is just straight disrespectful! It wasn’t until i joined a choir that i was truly enlightened to the difference in skill between an oktavist and a gospel bass. An oktavist must project over a choir of 20-30 people, hitting the same type notes a gospel bass would use amplification. And you’re comparing jd sumner to vladimir miller? Vladimir has one of the prettiest tones but he is not the lowest oktavist. If we’re gonna compare the lowest basses, then you have to compare jd to Mikhail Zlatopolsky. He could hit the same notes as jd Sumer EXCEPT it was over a choir of 30-40 people.

    • Alexander Mayang J.D had a C0 the other guy was bottoming out at C1. If you think me turning my give a damn off is bad just remember that Regan verbally raped the subhuman shit stains of Soviet Russia.

    • Alexander Mayang further the guys pushing the evil empire compared the lesser style of singing to guys like J.D and London to the Russian fry basses.

      @TheDixieBassMan@TheDixieBassMan4 жыл бұрын
  • Well I never said they weren't impressive I just said they're not the best I can usually hit a G0/F0 without vocal fry. And what about him "eating" the mike.

    @TheDixieBassMan@TheDixieBassMan11 жыл бұрын
    • Steven Criscione honestly! I’m glad to see you once again representing us oktavists on here.

      @xandertheoktavist@xandertheoktavist4 жыл бұрын
    • Steven Criscione this man is really claiming a G0 without vocal fry. TheDixieBassMan I’m not sure if you know this but the only way to produce such a vibration is through vocal fry. As a person who’s studied the science of the voice, it is not physically possible for a human to resonate (keyword resonate) a G0 that can be considered an actual musical note.

      @xandertheoktavist@xandertheoktavist4 жыл бұрын
    • Alexander Mayang yet you guys claim these Soviets forcing b1’s put’s them above Ernie Ford? I’m done being nice white Gospel Basses are in every way better. Vladimir millers G1 is blatant fry London was clearly full voice.

    • TheDixieBassMan sigh... we will have to agree to disagree. It is ok though because i can see you are a fellow Christian so i know we will both be in that heavenly place singing bass one day. No hard feelings.

    • Alexander Mayang here is a demonstration of j.d hitting a sub piano note kzhead.info/sun/ipeAiqaOkHWseZE/bejne.html I have a few I will try to upload tomorrow but I have multiple 1st octave notes on my channel as is. Jesus,I thought the black guys saying they were responsible for everything in American music was surprising but saying all gospel basses are frauds. At least I know Valdimir Pasjukov will be ready to be up their with a drink and a cigar probably saying relax we have to praise the lord.🤦🏻‍♂️
