That moment was pure gold. I felt both embarrassed and excited simultaneously.
I literally traveled for two days to see this and made it to the front row with my friend. It was an out of this world experience

I am amazed at how great they sound even so many years later. And with this raw footage, too. None of the usual post-mixing and cleanup of the professionally produced live stuff we're used to hearing.
I'm so glad to see Marko back sharing his amazing gift despite his demons. I never got to see him sing live with Tarja in Nightwish but did see him perform with Nightwish. I'll always treasure that concert.
Marko was about to cry after everything that happened. Singing again, both together on stage. This performance is more emotional than what people can think. I'm so happy to have watched this video.

The way Marko has tears in his eyes at the end. 🥺This must have been so emotional for both of them. Their Phantom of the Opera is iconic and still 18 years later it still hits like a wrecking ball! I cried pretty much during the whole performance! I love that there is no bad blood between them. They both are amazing! ❤

Nightwish will never be the same, different and beautiful in it's own new way( I love Floor and their albums without Tarja). But both of these beautiful people truely made those early Nightwish years special. That original lineup was just pure magic.
I get what you say... however Marco wasn't part of the actual original lineup. He joined them in 2001. Before him Sami Vänskä was the bassist of Nightwish.
I was about to say the same thing as the other person. Marko didn't come aboard until the 4th album which was Century Child. The two studio albums that these two were together were great though.

Where is the LOVE button!!?? Nightwish has been good and tuneful and made some great songs with Annette and Floor, but it has never really been Nightwish without Tarja. You took the long road, and we have ALWAYS been waiting...
I'm glad I rediscovered Tarja a year ago. Too bad I can't say the same about Nightwish. Tarja's music is much further for me now, interesting, experimental creative. And her voice, oh my god, her voice...better than ever, even though I can see how nervous they both were for this performance, it's still great and emotional and shows promise for the future. I saw her live last month at the Dark Christmas concert. Goosebumps. Tarja was unbeatable. I am very much looking forward to her and Marko's further collaboration.

I love how they are just having fun here. Obviously they are not gonna sound the same they did 18 years ago, people age and their voices are gonna change. Marko knows this and didn't even try to hit the high notes in the end. I'm happy they got to perform this song after so long. I feel like they got some sort of closure doing this.

Almost, but i my opinion, and this is only mine, the best reunion was Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske with Helloween, in second i'd put this one right here.
Saw some comments that they don't sound as good here. This is 18 years after End of an Era, their voices have naturally changed. Also this has not been mixed in any way. Although they've performed together for Raskasta Joulua, this must hit differently, there must be a lot of emotions around this one. But whatever, it's live, it's raw, it's Tarja and Marko back on a stage together. Therefore, in just my humble opinion, it's awesome !! @TankTheTech, hope you take a look at this one

Also this is not a DVD performance, based on Marco's comments, it was kind of a last minute thing, because they weren't really meant to perform together, Tarja probably came up with the idea, and he went with it because why not. They were not trying to impress anybody, they were just having fun on stage, with a song that is a classic for both of them, and they know fans love. I'm glad they did it, and I hope this is a further step to heal old wounds between them 🖤.
This is not their first time together after 18 year.. They were singing Christmas songs together 5 years ago..
Saw an interview recently where Tarja said that things between her and Nightwish have mellowed, and although she can't see it happening if she was asked she wouldn't be opposed to performing with Nightwish again if they asked.

Tarja looks gorgeous. I dare say better than when she was younger. I also like her current style of singing better than in the past.
It's definitely nice to see then smiling and being happy while performing especially if you know the story behind the end of an era version.

It was when Anette couldn't continue with the tour because of complications due to her pregnancy that she was dropped. Her work with The Dark Element and Allen/Olzon cemented the fact that she is a quality vocalist You are always going to have fans bitching about the new vocalist. Take Killswitch Engage for example, when Howard Jones replaced Jesse Leech, fans bitched about Howard as vocalist compared to Jesse. When Howard left and Jesse came back, fans bitch that Jesse isn't as good as Howard.
3 months, 1.1 mill views. Nightwish songs, actual music videos, barely gets this high - and especially not after 3 months. How we've missed this, eh?

I just saw her concert at festival Masters of Rock. I don't care that she doesn't sound perfect on this fan recording of Phantom, either because of emotion or because it was a matter of improvisation. I have had one of the most intense experiences: her amazing charisma, energy, stage presence and voice, my God, her voice, the way she plays with it, how everything blends perfectly with the music, no phone can capture that. Her voice has changed, but for the better, full of richness, depth and range. And as a bonus, there is a stunning light show. I was standing about 15 meters from the stage and the audience loved her My friend, who doesn't follow her much, said after the concert: I thought the last band was great, but when Tarja started, you could tell that the queen had entered.

Marko couldn't do the really high vocals here. He actually changed pitch to adapt. But luckily there are older video's where he does it perfectly. I have seen him do it live too.
Neither Tarja, nor Marko, nor Luis nor anyone of us can tell how excited we all are to have lived this long to see this beautiful moment happen. I wish we all live long enough to see Tarka and Marko along Floor, Tuomas and the rest of the current and former Nightwish crew together on one single legendary show.

@@rafinnn What happened in the past, can stay in the past (whether it was that disagreement with Tuomas, or money or whatever really happened, it can't be changed anyways). What happens next, we won't know until we get to see what's coming. This was a killer surprise nobody was expecting, and I didn't see it coming any time soon. I wish we all get to see a Nightwish show with the current and former crew, just like Killswitch Engage just did not too long ago, they had some resembling situations with Jesse and Howard, and yet they put together "The Signal Fire", and some other cool songs on Atonement, and asked for respect for each member of the band on their shows. It would be so cool if Nightwish came up with something like that, don't you think? ;)
This is how it should be. With the utmost respect intended to vocalists of nightwish since Tarja's departure, it's never been the same.

I miss these two together. I was glad that I saw Nightwish at I believe their first ever concert in the US at the ProgPower Festival in 2003. It was truly magical. A little over 20 yrs ago. How time flies.

Their voices sound so good together. In the End of an Era gig, which was Tarja's last with Nightwish, when they sang Everdream and at the end when they modulate and Marco starts singing the backing harmony, it is goose bumps every time I hear thatversion. For some reason they stopped doing that with Anette and Floor.
Love this way to perform Everdream, too. Unfortunately, Nightwish is a one-man band coming with mercenaries, Holopainen decides on everything.

@@solarscorcher1566 I think she was using _messa di voce_ and his "comfort vibrato" (basic one) as a way of saving energy and/or maybe her voice wasn't particularly smooth that day. Many bel canto interpreters use that trick (still, needs practice) to even sing when they're having a bad cold: if they're good, people without academic training won't notice the difference. Technique will do the rest, lol. I would dare to say her _fiato_ wasn't good either. I felt she was struggling with the song dynamics at some points. Maybe she didn't have a couple of days to adapt to the altitude and other conditions. Can't blame her or any bel canto singer who is on the heavy metal business. Their schedule is crazy as hell. I don't agree with the "too much vibrato" thing. It doesn't happen with all interpreters. But certainly Turunen's tesitura has become "darker" over time, which is a natural phenomenon. Some sopranos end like mezzo's, mezzo's end like contraltos and contraltos... well, they end as the Beast and not the Beauty, sort to speak. Well, it's a bel canto _luogo banale_ that older singers end their professional days performing less demanding roles or joining the Opera chorus.
You guys are not taking into account that unlike the original legendary recording, this one was recorded on simple phone mic with all the concert noise.
