We're wondering if doing firewood is the way to go with the crazy cost of living right now. Let us know what you think and ways that work for you to try and offset the rising costs of doing business.
#costofliving #inflation #freefirewood #oak #maine
It’s just crazy how much things are now!! Wow what a sweet load of oak💪 Have fun at the show!👍👍
Going to be a challenge working that last load up I’m not a fan of messing around with them 40 in oak rounds . . Hopefully we get good weather for the show .
I want in on that campfire to sort all the issues 😂. The cost of everything has gone crazy but unfortunately the cost of firewood has not really followed along as of yet. I think if things continue you will see prices start to creep up some but I fear it won’t be fast enough for some of the smaller firewood operations. It’s darn expensive to do business in our state if you are doing it the right way.
I know we could certainly do a better job than them idiots in Washington . Hopefully things turn around or at least ease up .
Nicely done video ❤👍. Glad to see your channel really growing . 😊 Thanks for talking about the inflation a lot of channels pretend it doesn't exist because of backlash. I don't know where we are headed in America but if we stay on the path we are on now you and I are screwed. My wife and I are retired, just make do with less every day after a lifetime of busting our butts every day. I didn't vote for bozo in charge. 💩 Pat from northwest WI
To be honest this type of video isn’t really our thing but dang it needs to be talked about cause it’s really affecting everyone . I still think if all of us comon folk sat down over a campfire we could figure it all out . Heck we solve all the world problems every morning down at the local store with just a few of us old guys talking . Now if someone in Washington would just listen to us .
Having the same problem 🇨🇦, I think it’s part of there plan WEF, we’re all f-k
You are correct on the cost of living!!! We are on our way home from Hoosier. Short trip for us but most anything ya do these days almost cost ya a grand. Nice log loads. Take care Phil and Karen👊🏻
Look forward to some good videos from the Hoosier get together . Just got home so I’m gona go look for some videos of it now . At least watching videos is still free .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood Well I’m betting there will be some awesome videos! Actually Brandon McKamey just put out a great video on the event!!
It’s all about greed. The prices of houses, rents, groceries…all of it, yet the pay hasn’t increased🧐?It’s absolutely disgusting. Karennnn ya could have stopped at Amato’s, got an Italian and sat on the beach while Phil ran to drop off then return. I’m pretty sure I’d give my right arm for that right about now! 🌊😍 Great score on wood🥳
I’m with ya Kim it’s gotten way outa hand Karen’s chasing her granddaughter around the house lol so I’m trying to keep up with comments tonight .
Life’s a beach! High prices for everything! Not for the faint of heart! Another great video. Loved seeing the beach/ocean👍🏼😊
You know if the fish were biting Ida probably been on the beach with her lol .
Great video, one thing for sure inflation hits everyone @ the same time in this country. The only thing different is, some has more money than others & don’t care about it. Again, another great video, you got yourself some nice hardwood logs for sure. Keep the videos coming. Can’t wait till the next one, have a safe trip & enjoy the logging expo in Vermont. Dave D. from Auburn, Me.
Thanks Dave I think everyone is tightening up getting ready for the crash . We did get some nice wood outa them 3 loads . Should keep us busy splitting for a few days .
Politicians keep getting richer and we keep getting poorer...
Never going to change unless we change the politicians. Gota take the profit out of it before we can get good ones in there .
Inflation is hurting all of us!! Old Orchard Beach, a beautiful place! Nice logs. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
This time of yr it’s nice there but by the first of June it’s a crazy house with non stop bumper to bumper traffic the cost of everything has definitely gotten way way outa hand .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood i have a friend who put on an event every year at the Veterans Memorial Park
I can relate..... Regular gas is 4.20/gal here in Alaska, and we make here! The hotels in the Anchorage area have put their Summer rates in affect so 220.00 is a common rate for a budget hotel. The cost of everything seems to have gone up everywhere. Makes it really difficult for small business.
Always been a dream of mine to get up to Alaska and run a trap line in the winter . I never went because I figured I wouldn’t come back and now I know with the cost of everything I will never make it there .
Inflation is crushing us as well. Mt Dew 2.49 here, diesel 4:10 here in West Michigan. Firewood is ridiculously cheap around here. Many are still selling it for $150/cord of hardwood split and delivered . That's what i was getting 20 years ago. When you have that bonfire is like to sit in on it. This hits us all hard. Great video and nice load of logs.
Jerry I know we could figure out how to fix everything it’s getting them over pd idiots in Washington to listen to us . Probably be doing more stump grinding an milling this yr . Gota get rid of the stuff that takes the most time an pays the least come to think of it you tube probably tops that list of time consuming an pays the least .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood I'm filming today I have couple hours and haven't Even fired up the mill yet. KZhead makes every job twice as long but I still have fun doing it.
Like someone with a brain says “ drill baby drill” not like sir tripsalot. Old orchard beach is a beautiful area. Done us 1 from Portsmouth to bar harbor. On motorcycle twice.
That’s alot of stop n go Bob rt 1 is crazzy bumper to bumper all summer . We try an stay clear of rt 1 in the summer months .
Fun fact: US oil production is up a massive ~30+% since the orange guy was booted from office. Under Biden, the US is now the world's largest oil producer and at its highest-ever production. US is now also the world's largest LNG exporter. For context, US was importing LNG about 15 years ago. For all the Fox Newz nonsense, energy production has skyrocketed with Biden at the helm. Also, under Trump, coal production collapsed and the biggest decline in coal production (and coal jobs) in US history happened on his watch. Those 'good paying' coal jobs Trump promised? Turned into tens of thousands of pink slips and unemployment checks. Coal production has rebounded strongly since Biden was elected. Facts matter.
Real nice load of wood, glad you got it all home safely. Definitely time to rethink the whole issue of is it all worth it. Cost to simply live right now let alone make any extra, is just plain crazy. Time for some changes for sure. Nice topic for your video today!❤💜
Them big rounds of oak will definitely be a challenge but it will make a lot of nice bundle grade wood . We are at the point we need to focus on the things that make us the most and slow down on the low paying stuff . Usually we just talk firewood and have fun in our videos but we figured this topic needed to be talked about .
Met you guys up in Vermont Saturday been watching a bunch of videos really really good. I was with the guy that bought the brute force splitter that you and your wife were using just saying hi. I’m down here in Alton New Hampshire not far from you people I’ll be more in touch and again love your videos Lee Hillsgrove Trucking 👍
Well heck we really appreciate ya watching the videos an taking the time to comment . Meeting everyone at the shows and seeing the comments is what pushes us to keep trying to make good videos . Thanks again and it was nice meeting ya at the show .
Hi Phil and Karen!!😀😀 Things are definitely out of control. Big oil runs the world. So we are at their mercy all the time. We are being price gouged by all big business since covid. The only thing that would help is a windfall profits tax. But certain people won't go along with it and I will just leave it at that. All you can do is try to pass on the increase. That's what everyone else is doing. Don't know what else can be done. Keep your head up and nose to the grindstone. LOL!! Take care my friends!!😀😀💚💚 Logger Al
Thanks Al I go 7 days a week to keep thing going but I’ve always been that way . I wouldn’t know what to do if I just did 40 hrs a week lol. Just seems lately things ain’t adding up the way they should .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood I hear you buddy. I knew that. You are just like I used to be before my health went into the crapper. Sucks for me being a workaholic that can't work anymore. Keep up the great work buddy!!👍👍
I have a red oak that size that uprooted and the top is laying in the root ball od a hickory it took down and its root ball is about 6 ft. across. Trying to find someone to take it for lumber but no one around here wants to come for one tree. I would hate to but eventually, it will be firewood. WOW, that is some nice wood.
I hated to see them cut that nice oak up into short pieces . That but log was worth $300 at the log yard but there was no way for them to lift it . Sure gona make nice firewood . The only way any one around here will come get saw logs is if there’s at least a log truck full of. . You could always go get a trailer and rent a machine to move the log and bring it to a log yard but it would cost ya more than what you would get outa the log . Lots of nice logs go to waste for just that reason .
Nice. Video. Buddy
Thanks Ralph
Last night I spent $72 on 19 gallons, and $140 on groceries. I can’t pay my way just on firewood, I have a full time job, but I think the problem is….moneys just not worth what it once was. Congress keeps printing more money so they can spend it on proxy wars over in Russia and Israel. I’m tired of their being money for war but no money for people too tired to keep up with life. Ah well. Watching from Connecticut, love the channel. Maybe I’ll see you guys in Vermont.
We can’t make it on firewood alone but I enjoy doing it that’s why we do stump grinding and some saw milling to help make ends meet . We will probably do more stump grinding and more milling this yr to help out . You tube helps a lil but for the time spent in making videos it’s our least paying thing we do like firewood we do KZhead cause we enjoy it . As fast as there printing $ it’s made it not worth much of anything . I’ve heard it before this country has a spending problem not an income problem an that perdy well sums it up . Stop by the split force both next weekend a say hi . Would love to meet ya .
Hello Phil and Karen. That was a crazy load. I saw the smile on Busters face when he heard the split force was heading out of town. I also saw the smile on Phils face when splitting wood with Buster and he knew his stacking days were coming to an end. Lucky we couldn’t see Karens face going back to full time stacking, because she was stuck behind the camera. Have fun on that trip, and talk those split force guys into giving you another splitter to try out. Thanks for another good video.
We definitely knocked the dust off ole buster this week . And I’m thinking it’s gona be a good workout for buster when we split that load of oak . Karen might surprise ya she really liked running that split force and has caught the bug for splitting . I’m thinking you might see her running buster at a slower speed eventually.
Talking about the price of living! We pay about $9.50 for a gallon of fuel down here in Australia and don’t talk to us about food prices, double again….. We grow our own vegetables to try and offset all the costs. Electricity has doubled too even though everyone almost has solar on their roofs and putting the power back into the grid. We are all just pawns in the in this game. You are so right with all those politicians…. That’s a great lad of free wood, beautiful.
Sure dose make ya wonder ware all that $ is going . And ya politicians are like a dirty diaper they need to be changed quite frequently cause there always full of well you know . $ 9.50 I don’t know how you can operate at them prices . Won’t be long an we will be back to horse and buggy around here . I’ve been working on getting some free solar panels from a job site we were at a few weeks ago . I figure it’s worth a try putting them up to save on the power bill . That was some nice loads of wood . That big stuff will be a challenge to work with but should make some nice splits .
$9.50 Australian = US $6.20. Fairly similar to prices here in California.
Another great video, agree with everything that you expressed and wish we could do something to those meat-sticks to think about us common folk! Question, if I may, where I live we have mostly hardwood that is purchased as pole wood by the log truck load, wood costs upfront but requires less equipment and time to get it on the splitter, is that an option in your area and if so do you feel that “free” wood is still the better option to better profit in the wood business? Thank you for the videos!
We can buy hardwood in tree length but it’s $160 a cord delivered when they have it . I can spend $40 in gas an go pick up a cord or 2 for free plus sometimes I get saw logs . For me it works better .
Lots free wood. Will almost except for gas. Gas here 197 cents litre yesterday went down 2.9 cents today. But couple days time be back up again.$1.94 now that is self serve thou for litre gas. 4.4 litres in gallon so $8.54 gallon as of today. Food is gone up like crazy. To buy a chicken at the store it is 17 dollars, some 18 but that,s for the smallest ones. Only couple months ago they where from 10 to 13 dollars. Usual price but gone up alot. Soon have to eat grass,ha,ha. Anyway great video. By the way nice beach and view of the water. Nobody to be seen there. Take care.
Gona have to go back to driving a team of horses an raising what we eat to get by . I know people that have just plain given up an let the government take care of them and to be honest I think that’s what the government wants . I still know the old ways to get by so we will always make do one way or another without the government.
🎉
Well Dun!
Thanks this topic is definitely not in our wheelhouse but dang it’s goten outa hand . At least we got some nice loads of wood in this one . Now we gota get busy an get back to busten wood . Appreciate ya watching .
That load of oak is premium! Greetings
That was some nice oak . The last load was bigger stuff than I like to work with but it’s going to make a lot of nice splits . We appreciate ya watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Hi, in Norway you will be robbet for 8.5 US Dollar pr gallon for regular gas. 80% is tax. So not strenge EV’s is very popularitet here. Cheers from Norway🇳🇴
Strange how there pushing for the EVs if I had to guess someone is making a few extra $ . We appreciate ya watching from Norway and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Poor guys ! Should come in B.C. the gaz just went to 2.16 $ a litre
That’s just nuts there’s no way anyone here could operate at them prices
Bring S’more big stuff to Sebago. Or even Cecil down in Buxton.
yes that my kind wood
Ya that was probably the biggest oak I’ve ever gotten gona be a pain working that bunch up should be a challenge for sure . I know Cecil likes that big stuff
In Canada we pay 1.76 a leter I think it's 4.5 leters per gallon so it's 7 dollars a gallon then add the exchange rate at 35 cents so over 9 dollars.
3.79 liters to US gallon
In NS, CAD$1.90/L for regular unleaded gas self serve. Works out to CAD$7.20/gallon, converted to today's xrate is USD$5.27. Diesel is currently a little cheaper.
Wow and here I thought they were really sticking it to us sounds like there really hammering you guys . Ain’t gona be much longer a people are gona start pushing back . Growing up my dad made enuf to keep everything going , nowadays it takes 2 working full time plus a side hustle to break even . Crazy times
😊😊😊😊😊
Things are definitely out of hand. We need to flush the people running this country. I broke done I went bought skid loader today. I never make dime off firewood now with new splitter and skid steer. I really do becouse I like it. How much will your tractor lift? Hope the skid lift anything I need to. Should be able to pick just short 5000 off the ground. I think everyone in firewood needs to charge more. It lot work to make it. Keep up the good work.
You will be very happy having a machine to move wood around . Our tractor will lift about 3000 lbs . Probably never going to see big $ on firewood there’s just so many folks that do it for extra $ . I’m still not sure what direction to go in but I’m thinking stump grinding and running the saw mill will pay a lot more than firewood .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood definitely not going to get rich.
That was a very large red oak! I don't usually get that big of red oak. I do get that size pin oak and poplar. Pin oak usually has too many crotches in the big stuff. Turns into mostly unsaleable wood, but i will burn it. That big stuff is a lot of work. I'd much rather have 24 inch or less, but free wood is good wood. 😁 That was a nice day of hauling and even got some slitting and stacking done! 👍🤣
Definitely got some good wood from that job . I also like that 24 in or less sized wood . Lota extra work to mess with that really big stuff . We try an always get some splitting done every day . The firewood logs are adding up fast around here so we need to keep up with it the best we can .
It's going higher every day an won't stop til we have all new regular people in congress an the senate
Bingo you got it right there . Needs to be common folk in congress not people trying to make millions. Take the money out of it for them an we will get good people in there that care .
All that tree service wood that you've gotten throughout the years, have you had an issue with metal or nails ruining a sawmill blade or a chain on your chainsaw? I seem to find quite a few in my tree service logs. So free really isn't free when you have to replace a chain or a blade. Great video guys!
When I go to pick up the wood on the job site I’m always looking to see if it’s a newish house or an old one some times you can just tell if it’s gona have hardware . The saw mill will cut 3 or 4 nails off before it won’t go any more an ya I hit nails in about 20% of the logs I saw . Saw blade is $30 bucks but a typical log will bring over 100 board ft so I think it’s well worth the risk . Bottom 8 ft of a tree around an old house is almost garonteed to have iron in it .
Twice the cost for gas in Canada, you guys have it so good in the USA.
I had no idea till reading all the comments that you guys in Canada were paying that much . That’s just crazy . Everyone in the states would close there doors if we had to pay what you guys are paying .
Hey Phil & Karen! Great hardwood score! I wrote you email April 3 asking to swap stickers and if you have Who Cut One? Tees available. Hope to hear from you soon!
Sorry bout that I will have Karen look that up we must have missed it some how .
Everything has gone crazy with prices. Groceries, dining out, things that were cheap are expensive now, like Chinese food that's mostly rice, celery and onions and it cost big time. We cut back as much as possible and just buy what we need. Corporate greed? Everyone got greedy and blames it on Covid for their high prices. I'm starting to refuse to pay by not going out as much, no more Dunkin Doughnuts, or burger king. I make stuff and take it to work, and I plan on only spending so much for gas for my pickup (8.1 liter) I cut down on my driving. Refuse to pay for these high prices and maybe the greed will stop or slow down. The meat sticks in D.C. were born filthy rich and could care less about us, as long as they can fleece us out of more money.
We have cut back as well on most everything an done our best to cut cost of production to a minimum . Not sure what else we can do other than just keep doing the best we can .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood Exactly, I went back to burning firewood here, someone always has some for free or I bought some and it was a lot cheaper than heating oil. I'll give my money to a firewood dealer instead of wall street and the big oil companies.
@@Stihl-Alive044-nc8op I like ya way of thinking we started burning wood again as well I refuse to pay there prices
If things don’t change they will always stay the same, my farther away said that, I’m surprised that machine that loaded your trailer is not set up to hook up extra wait at the back when needed, I definitely would make it, were screaming here too 🇨🇦, later guys 👍🚜🪵🔥🚀🏰🇨🇦🇱🇷
Most of them machines have a place to put a 10 gallon jug of water on each side but he likes to keep it as light as possible when working on lawns so every now and then then he needs gets us to stand on the back for weight . Sounds like things are outa hand every ware Len .
By the way another great video
Thanks a video on this topic is definitely not in our wheelhouse but we figured it needed to be said .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood you keep throwing these types of things in thier once an a while it dosent hurt you it will help your channel
I feel the pain, my friends. I’ll do you even one better: I fired up your saw for the first time and went to work on a pile of logs I stacked before I got ill. Good news, it works great! Bad news, 95% (+) of the logs are punky trash. I honestly don’t know whether to set them on fire or try to split out the punky parts. If there were only an inch or so of decay, I might attack it. However, in most cases, there’s only a 5” solid core out of a 20” round. I believe that this wipes me out for this year’s production.
Mark I know when we get punky wood I put it in the trash heap . Just not worth all the effort to cut a split to get what lil bit of good that’s left in the middle . I sure wish you were closer I’d love to meet ya an spend a day doing firewood with ya .
@@AllenFamilyFirewoodI feel like a wastrel trashing it, but I know you’re right that the real waste would be the time and fuel to extract what little wood I could get out of it. It will take a week to move and burn all I have - but I’ll do it. I will make the journey to visit you and Karen when I’m able. Right now, caretaker duties have me homebound still. Thanks for the advice on the wood. Take care
@@Mark-Marine Definitely would love to meet you some day Mark
I will take a day in the woodyard vs a day at the beach any day….
Same here well unless the fish are biting good then I’m ok with the beach .
Here in Greeley Hill California are gas price is 599 a gallon
Cost of everything out there must be through the roof . Transportation cost affect everything. What’s a can of soda sell for out there I’m guessing almost double what it does here an I thought it was bad here . Wow . No wonder all the pictures we see of California are people living on the streets . Probably won’t be long before it’s like that here . Just crazzy
Gas prices always go up from spring to fall because a majority of people want to get out of the house after winter but the rest of the prices are still way too high.
Maine being a summer vacation destination we are used to seeing the gas price go up a lil but not 80 cents in a few months . I’m told it’s going to be up over 4 dollars by mid may . I’m told that’s cheep compared to what there paying in Canada there paying closer to double that . Everything is just priced out of reach nowadays.
250 Accord in Connecticut is top dollar to 300
Around here in sept oct it’s $350 but by dec Jan when everyone is out it’s 4-450 a cord
See you friday
Look forward to meeting you
$5.65 here in the people’s republic of Corruptifornia, counting the days! Have faith Phil, we’re going to turn this around soon, “Morning in America” part 2. That beach looked great, must be cold, not a soul around. Have fun at the Expo, see all the sights, don’t just stand around glad-handing and yakking huh Phil?😂Got to go, dropping my Uncle off at the airport- going to New Guinea, what could go wrong !🇺🇸
Wow 5.65 that’s nuts . We will try an do a video at the show but I’m sure I will be doing plenty of yacking
It’s horrible across the board . Every thing cost more and I can’t just charge more and keep customers. Fire wood is the least of my money but it sure cost more to produce than it did . No one will work anymore. I use to could get help now no one wants to do any real work !
I’m thinking we need to focus more on sawing lumber and stump grinding and when we’re not busy doing that we can do firewood . I really enjoy doing firewood but something’s gota change . I asked a 16 yr old kid the other day if he wanted a summer job and he said he wanted $22 pr hr lol .
We are in California and it’s 625 a gallon
That’s almost double what it is here . If I had to pay that I’d be living in a camper in Walmart parking lot .
That's a big oak tree. Lots of great wood in that big fella. Would have loved to see you unload that load. You may need a bigger bar for your chainsaw for that tree. Great firewood though.
I have a 2165 jonsered with a 24 in bar but I loaned it to a buddy . I have a budy Robert that has a saw with a big bar that will stop down an help me cut them real big ones up .
Phil what happens when your can of mt dew is a 6oz can for 2 bucks. I noticed that some companies took a 12 pack to a 8 pack for the same money I stopped buying it. Peace
I’ve already cut back on the Dew . Cutting ware ever we can and working more hrs hoping it all pans out in the end .
Stop Your COMPARING, 6.8O HERE IN OAKVILLE ONTARIO CANADA.!?.

That’s a really good load of wood there phil
Definitely the biggest oak I have ever brought back should be fun working that up into bundle wood .
It’s bad when gas here in Texas is the same where you are.
I never understood why gas prices can be so different in each state
@@AllenFamilyFirewood We are a lot closer to the major refineries compared to you. So there’s a lot less freight for us than you. Plus some states have a ridiculous road tax compare for others.
Our gas comes from Irving oil out of Canada. Pretty much every brand all starts with Irving gasoline. The different brands add their own 11 herbs and spices at the fuel terminals.
Lol, I haven't seen gas prices that low in 10 years.
It was at $2.50 in February
@@AllenFamilyFirewoodAmazing. Maybe 20 years ago that was the gas price in California?
Sweet gas prices.. here it 1.80 / liter gas and 1.70 / liter diesel... thats 6.40 and 6.80 / us gallon..
That’s just crazy you guys can operate with them kinda prices .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood it's hard.. hard to sell wood at 150 a facecord.. but can't afford to do it any less
Wow. Big wood. Nice beach. Just needed some bikini babes on there 😳😳😳 Price of gas went up about 10 cents per litre here in the last two weeks. And a can of peas. And a can of corn, both went up 20 cents in a week. Just crazy. The rich keep getting richer. I’d like to say, have a great day, but it’s getting harder to do. But have a great day any way. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
That was some big oak for sure . You wanna know if there was a bunch of bikini babes on that beach I’d of been the one holding the camera instead of sitting in the truck lol. Everything has gone threw the roof an if this keeps up I’m gona be buying a team of horses and going back to the old way of doing things . I’m not sure about a good day but I’m at least going to make it fun . Take care Noel
🤭🤭🤭bikini babes. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
do you own the wood lot ?
Yes we own the area ware we have our wood yard . We don’t own the farm though .
I live ten minutes from the Expo and thats the hotel price here it’s crazy and our gas is more than yours. The state of Vermont is going to be doubling our property tax in july our family has been here in the Essex junction area since 1684 and were leaving coming to Maine where our red votes hopefully will do some good.
They jacked our property tax this yr by 20% . Wow double is just crazy can’t blame ya for moving out . My advice is to stay north of Portland or west of it . The coast an all of southern maine is a dark blue area . We live just north so it’s still close enuf we can go and sell our wood to the blue area and bring the money back home with us . Seems to be lots of $ down in that area . If your at the show stop by a say hi would love to meet ya .
Karen and Phil you both already know why everything is happening with the economy so I don’t think you need my two cents 😮😊❤
I think we have a good idea we’re just trying to figure it all out an see if being in the wood business is the right direction to be headed .
Just paid 7.23 for diesel here in California and 5;76 for regular yea I’m pissed
That’s just crazy I’d be shut down at 4.50 a gallon.
Time for a truck camper guys😂 political spending the last 30 yrs has come home to roost 🇺🇸
Heck I could live in a shed Karen on the other hand well …. Maybe a big camper lol. All I know is whatever is going on needs to stop or we will all be living in cardboard boxes perdy quick
than bidon
Unfortunately firewood is relatively easy to get into and when everyone needs more money firewood is easy to get started. That floods the market and keeps the prices low. Finding markets for smaller quantities with higher profit margins seems to be the only way to go forward. Be creative and I'm sure that's not an issue for you 2. In the meantime keep doing what you're doing and hope for the best.
I agree Brian . I like being creative but that usually cost a lot . I think the biggest reason we’ve made it this far is i don’t quit an I will go 16 hrs a day to make it work just crazy that it takes that to get by nowadays .
Cheer Up, It's just going to keep getting worse, for the near Future anyway....
If it keeps getting worse my bet is people will start pushing back . Would be nice to see the wood prices go up a lil so we can keep going .
Did you sell out of wood last year?
We did that’s why went up $50 pr cord on our hard wood
You need to send karen with the truck and trailer to grab the wood loads, and you stay and cut and split wood. Mife wife is pretty good with a trailer on the back of a truck. Just make sure she knows how to adjust the brakes and where the tow haul button is.
Ya Karen would be better to stay an cut an split than drive with a trailer . Trust me on that one lol .
My wife went grocery shopping this week. $859 for 2 weeks of groceries. When are you putting your bundle stands out ? Start pulling in some gas money.
Now that it’s warmed up we need to get them out and get new ones built for the new spots we have . They been keeping us busy hauling wood and next week we are headed to the show Thursday morning so probably after we get back from the show we will focus on getting them out a new ones built . Thanks Josh .
Yes I love maple and ash but one day there will be no more ash .
We don’t get ash very often here but I’m sure eventually that lil bug will work its way up here an we won’t have any either. The maple is nice because it drys fast unlike the oak but we are used to getting mostly oak .
Don’t cry we are paying 740 gallon in Ontario Canada.
That’s just nuts I’d be living in a cardboard box with them prices .
And driving a team of horses
Nice load there, guys. I see a few in DC that are trying, but the rest of the morons dont do anything but for them selves. Washington state level is no any better, and with us being "environmental friendly" with everything gas here is 4.49 a gallon and diesel id 5.19 I am thankful i have a tree guy that will let me cut and split right out of the firewood bin. So i can save a step and not have the mess here at home. I did go up on prices and so far no one is complaining. Yet
Just hang in there a better economy is right around the corner. Assuming there is not election cheating. I see this year as another Carter vs. Reagan style at the polls. Unfortunately just like with any other election race. Anything can happen.
Well hopefully trump gets in that’s a start but them in Washington don’t want things to change and I think that’s why there fighting him so hard . The whole lot of em need to go . Take the money out of it and they will leave on their own . Maybe make it like jury duty an we gota go do 6 months in Washington . At least then it would be reg folk making the decisions
Start drinking more water/flavored water
I tryed that water thing a few yrs ago . That stuff is nasty . Not a fan of it but the way things are going I best start getting used to it .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood gas prices are nuts, ever consider what people are paying for water per bottle.
@@iffykidmn8170 I think ya right water is more expensive than gas when ya look at it that way .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood out of the faucet price is good case price of $3-4 is not bad but people paying $1+ per bottle is crazy and yet complain about the price of gas. maybe you should put up a bottled water stand next to the firewood.😁🤣
Everybody wanted their paychecks to go up. Minimum wage went up. The money has to come from somewhere. The consumers pay for it, The minimum wage increase ends up helping no-one and hurting everyone. Big corp. business wins.
All I know is whatever we are doing it ain’t cutting it . Stuff has just goten out of hand .
Kentucky Derby weekend
With the way things are going we’re all gona want a horse to drive to work . Might as well pick a fast one
@@AllenFamilyFirewood exspeaicl with the gas prices as they are now I would get a horse and buggy
@@TimothyConrad-wh4xy we ain’t far from it
@@AllenFamilyFirewood all because of the war in Israel and Russian
Corporate greed. The best government money can bye . and yet chump voters love to give more more more. Big tax breaks for the rich😮😢
They sure do . Every time we vote there’s usually 4 or 5 bond issues to vote on for some stupid thing an without fail they always pass . People like to spend other people’s money . . I’d like to see everyone pay the same % .
November coming…,
To be honest I think it’s going to take more than a big change in November to fix this mess .
@@AllenFamilyFirewood Totally agree, I’m ashamed of the world we are leaving for future generations.
@@bobbruce3925 I hear ya at the rate we’re going our kids are gona be in a real big mess that we helped create .
Bidenomics!

I thought you only did pine . That was probably the biggest oak I’ve ever goten
Bidenomics at work.
10% strike that-30% (Inflation) for the “Big Guy”
I agree that has a lot to do with it but no matter which side ya on both sides are lining there pockets an we are taking the hit and our kids are gona take an even bigger hit .
7$ a gallon is way better than 2$ a gallon.... Jobama says so!!! 35% inflation since 2020.... Guuuuddddd for the gubmnt!!! turn over tgem benjis!!
35% is a understatement
I’m not really into the politics of it all I’m more into what works and it hasn’t been working out very well for a long long time .
Bidenocmics.
Vote Trump !!!!!!!!
One word answer, Bidenomics!
That’s a big part of it for sure . But over all this country has a spending problem not an income problem . I figure if I gota cut my spending the government should also .
Is that a complaint and Phil vote for Trump and things will get better everybody in New Hampshire needs to vote for Trump let's face it and for what you guys are getting for would I'm in Connecticut I get to 50 Accord and that's top dollar
It’s gona take more than trump to fix things the whole bunch in Washington are no good . $50 pr cord is crazy gas to go get deliver an process a cord is more than $50
Trump will be in prison for hush money
I think he said he gets $250 a cord, he just doesn’t write so well.
Hey Phil and Mrs Karen , some very nice loads of wood . 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵
Thanks Dell definitely bigger than I like to work with but with some time we can get it broke down into some nice looking splits .
