We are back this week with the last pour day... it was a very eventful and crazy day, that i will not wish to anybody. We stopped the build of our house and left right after it.

I loved seeing you both get a bit of a break and getting a change of scenery. The skiing part at the end was exciting. I went skiing for the first time this year, and now I'm hooked! I still had baby deer legs 🦌 but I had a blast! Love the videos!

According to Perkins Biilder Brothers, the test before using the concrete polisher is to throw a peeble on the concrete slab, and if the peeble bounces - it is ready for polishing.

In weather like that you should have waited 4-6 hours before using the power trowel. A light Grey color is needed before finishing.

Hey @ModernHouseCabin What is the concrete vibrator you are using. I'll be starting a build of myown soon and ill need one as well :) and by the looks of it yours is doing a pretty good job.

hoii , u need to try to do bigger concret parts so that u can save some money on the pump .. dont go to early in the concrete with the machine u start with the machine when the concrete is more dry , and give at least 2-3h to the first run and eachrun 1 h to the finish , if u go multipletimes to early the water cam up and still not good i hope i can help and goood job guys

I love the project and the effort but using g goes rotating float on the same day as the pour is just wrong. Floating should happen the next morning along with the edging. Your idea of wanting cream on top is not correct. This happens by itself. If you leave a foot print when you stand on it, it is too early to float. But keep up the effort.

Yes, I agree 100%. They started way too soon, and created a lot of unnecessary work. They needed to wait. But then again, the next day it rained and didn't stop for several days, so maybe that was their best window.
as i mentioned in the video, we went probably 30minutes earlier than we should have. if you wait till next day it is all cured!
@@ModernHouseCabin yes and that is when you polish it with a rotating polisher. It will not be cured, it will ne "green" and polish able. If you leave a footprint when you walk gentle on it, it is too early to polish.
@@jimmycccc i know what you mean, we will do that once the walls are up. we did not polish it tho, it looks like it but it fades in a couple of days we power trowel it to close as many pores as posible and make it as smooth as possible. We will then polish it and seal it.

Way too early for the float pan. You should wait until all the water disappears before using the float pan. Way to much work doing it over and over when you just needed to be patient. It's 20 min to 4 hours. Just watch more "how to" videos on concrete work. You will get it down. You two work so hard you deserved the ski adventure! Happy for your new build!

Let's have some happy music in the next video 🙂. Anyway, I hate to say it, but I have yet to encounter a contractor who actually delivers what they promised (and got paid) to do. It's always 80% hack jobs, 90% if you're lucky, and you have to compensate yourself for the rest. No getting away from it. Pride in people's craft has basically vanished.

I’m not sure I understand the title “Last concrete floor”. Aren’t there more floors to pour? Maybe I missed something, because it looks like you’re half way through the floors in this video.
That floor came out as slick as glass in spite of the concrete men. They acted like they didn't care they didn't have enough concrete. I like your tenacity. Sorry about all the bad weather, I think it is everywhere. Make plans and that will ruin them. Great job. Take care and will wait for the next episode.

I love your content but unfortunately I'll have to tell you that it is very irresponsible to ski without a helmet! Even if you're the best skier in the world you have to use a helmet! You know who Michael Schumacher is? I hope that his story serves as an example for you, next time please use a helmet! Other than that keep up the good job and great content! Im a big fan
Schumacher did have a helmet on, with an action cam on, that crushed the helmet and went into his head, the action cam. But yes, we both bought a helmet a few days later as we are going to be skiing more often after this first trip and i value my head!
