  • My ancestors are from southern Italy, and I never had Turkish food until last year, but the more I have it, the more familiar the flavors seem to me and I believe that either Turkish people settled in my part of Italy, or, people from my part moved to Turkey and influenced their cuisine. Either way, it is extremely good tasting to me.

    • It's the Roman influence of Constantinople on Turkish bread making. Their traditional bread is usually unleavened flat bread but anything you see resembling western breads are inherited from ancient Rome.

    • Pasta is also a Turkish dish. It is seen in Europe after the Battle of Vienna. Just like coffee and pancakes. In fact, the first written book about pasta in Italy was written by an Italian named Turcos in the 16th century. So is pidza. Pidza is also inspired by Turkish pita. Pidza is also seen after the siege of Vienna.

  • I love fresh baked bread. I'm going to assume the large breads are for parties or big gatherings. Like one said, bread has a shelf life and that bread would go stale after a while if not consumed in a few days or so but, I stile love watching these videos. I really would like to taste them, ummmmmm.

    • I think some old traditions and knowledge are lost or marginalized in the West. There are types of breads in Central Anatolia and the Black Sea region that last for 2-3 weeks, and they don't go stale. Actually, our traditional flat bread, called yufka ekmek, lasts for months.

  • These are masters artisan in the bread making world. Have absolutely no idea why one would purchase such a large loaf, unless they’re having a large gathering of sort. Anyway, these breads would be on my bucket list (don’t have one) to buy and taste with butter, or jelly, or ….. : )
