What is the four-letter word Gayle King loves that a man says?
Media Queen Gayle King takes us through journey from production assistant to CBS Morning Co host, bond with Oprah, dishes on Jay Z, Taylor Swift, R Kelly and life after divorce, being a single mom while sustaining a career that has her atop the media and entertainment world as one of the most respected and accomplished journalists. Having fun with the guys- Gayle lets her guard down and shares what she looks for in a man and partner as she navigates the current dating world.
Ryan, Channing and Fred sat down with the CBS “This Morning” host to talk about her journey from childhood to a career in journalism and the relationships cultivated along the way.
Not many people have established themselves as a mainstay in the ever-evolving world of journalism like Gayle King has by accomplishing so much in a competitive and sometimes, unforgiving field. The long-time TV personality has a resume that includes dozens of A-list conversations, intriguing stories, unprecedented access and an even more impactful life as a mother, which she credits as her greatest role.
Going back to where it all started as a young aspiring female, Gayle King began her career as a production assistant in Baltimore when she met anchor Oprah Winfrey. Since that one snowy night, Gayle formed an unbreakable bond with Oprah and their tight-knit friendship has been surviving and thriving and for nearly 4 decades. Gayle shares a funny story about her and Oprah while describing their connection.
From Jay-Z to R. Kelly to Blake Shelton, Gayle has had a diverse array of guests she’s interviewed, and she discusses her approach when there are intense moments. In particular she describes the emotions and intentions around the lightening rod of a conversation with R Kelly as he was facing serious allegations and jail time. As Gayle speaks, she instills wisdom on the state of journalism today, mentioning that taking time to understand people goes a long way.
While her personal life is under the microscope a lot, Gayle opens up on life after her divorce and her ability to find a work life blend while being a single mother with a demanding career. Gayle touches on her current her dating history sharing a personal story of a recent encounter gone wrong while candidly speaking on what she wants in a guy, which catches Ryan, Channing and Fred off guard but creates nonstop laughter amongst the group.
New episodes drop on Tuesdays at 12 p.m. ET and Fridays at 3:30 p.m ET on KZhead, with audio available on all streaming platforms including Apple, Spotify and Amazon.

    • She's a foul person had those parents on her show telling lies when the truth is in the court transcripts that the mother was texting RSK pretending to be her 18yr old daughter who was really 17 and she didn't have them back the same way the lied on her show she should have called them out on the text messages but she just went along with the BS also her boyfriend Micheal Avanotti who is now in prison gave the government a fake tape of RSK they lied to the world and it's sad that it's ok with people

    • Living in a world where women including single mothers are so deeply obsessed with EQUALITY and expect for other men to financially help them out with other men's (Pookie and Ray-Ray) kids and still expect for the men that they expect such help from to feel the same about them seeing Gayle say that she didnt feel the same about the guy she helped out didnt sit well with me, because the sisterhood is very big asking men to "step up" and help women out all while being reluctant to offer the same type of help that they demand/expect. So I ask myself where is the equality that women so desperately want and are obssessed with in these types of situations?

      @Grimmes12@Grimmes123 ай бұрын
    • Also another problem I have with strong and independent feminist type black women in media like Gayle King and Oprah is that they are real quick to call out the black deadbeat fathers while also trying to throw shade at the Lavar Balls of the world for making sure that ALL three of kids were and are SUCCESFUL. Its like as a man you are shamed if you do and you are shamed if you don't you can never win with these women, so no she didn't fool me, I see right thru her.

      @Grimmes12@Grimmes123 ай бұрын

  • Loved this episode! Gayle is class personified, and the Pivot is unlike any other "sports" Podcast where you can go from having a country artist, to Gayle King and everyone else. And Channing's story was absolutley hilarious! I'm bi-racial too, and worked as a ball boy for an NBA team as a teenager, let's just say, I was traumitiezed, lol, just kidding, but funny story and I love how this is so insightful for life as well as having a comedica element too at times, ala Channing! Thank you guys!

    • Make up, wigs, shape wear... all go a long way in helping women look and feel more attractive. Even besides that, body dysmorphia is a real thing. Even attractive people think that they're ugly many times. It's a strange thing. Best not to care and live your life from the inside out. Spirit always trumps matter.

  • Firstly, I am hoping that Gayle King has an Oprah Winfrey “Ah Ha” light bulb moment and realize that she needs a younger man as her mate. Though she is in a season of maturity, Gayle exudes youthful energy, and embodies ageless beauty and brains. Secondly, as a small town newspaper journalist in my first profession, I have great admiration and respect for these two young black men. Feeling like a proud auntie, I celebrate this milestone, interviewing the iconic Gayle King, and doing it in such a down-to-earth yet respectful manner. Thanks for not allowing her legendary status to intimidate you and impede your ability to dig deeply and unearth the multiple layers of Gayle King, the GOAT of today’s journalism.
