I don’t get the controversy about the “cheating” scene, it made it so it didn’t greatly retcon TBBT, but allowed for the audience’s view of George to not be sullied, as he is a likeable character
I see Young Sheldon as an alternate timeline version. He has way too much growth and there are lots of inconsistencies, so I don't necessary look at the show as a true prequel.
I don't have any problem if Young Sheldon does anything different after all we've only ever heard things from Sheldon's perspective and who's to say he didn't misunderstand? After all there were a lot of things that he couldn't relate to?
“Older” Sheldon WAS a joke. Why do you think there was a “bit” every 2 minutes with Sheldon at the center of it? Ba-dum-dum….characters that killed vaudeville.
