What else did you notice?
Man City played terribly
Man city kind of been falling off.
I just loved it!
Both goals looked really bad from City's perspective. In the first N''Dombele took out 3 players with one simple touch that allowed him to release the through ball to Son with his second touch. This means City's press was lackluster and not tight enough. In the second goal otoh Kane took a total of 7 touches before finding a wide open Lo Celso. That pass was easy to see beforehand, and how this can happen against a top team like City is beyond my understanding. They clearly have some communication issues and don't work properly as a cohesive unit.
If city played overload ball side and use switch to other side they might have good chances to win but Morhiono is top defencively
The best thing of this game was Mourinho's answer when a reporter confronted him against the fact that Manchester City had 80% possesion to which he responded "They can take the ball home. I take the 3 points. "
😂😂😂😂😂😂👍
Can u give the link for tht reply
Did he really say that?
Shit I laughed so hard when he said that
Lmao
Imagine my man Mourinho going to bed last night. Like a little proud kid remembering why he loves football so much.
Pep seemed salty when he ",congratulated" mourinho at the fin whistle
Hell yeah.
Lol, not anymore
who says mourinho is finished? some idiots are saying mourinho joining totenham is a step back ..... Coaches as great as Mourinho will always prove you wrong
English pundits and Manu fans
I don't think Mou approach change much. But this time Mou have quality players that really suit his tactics. Both Son and Kane is a clinical finisher and is great at counter attack. Against top sides Mou always play like this Counter attack. And this time he got very very good players for it. However if Kane or Son in injured. They will be in a big problem.
@@andistheinforitbutso7513 As an MU fan, I can say that he was underappreciated and scapegoated, all because our players were too incompetent.
@@footballfan5048 you no nothing about football. City didn’t have the answers at all. They couldn’t break the defense. That has nothing to do with Kane and son, the organization at the back was so solid. It wasn’t like lloris had to make superb saves and Tottenham were lucky to not concede. No, city couldn’t create defining chances. Sissoko abs hoelberg were so instrumental cos they drop in between Toby and dier so aurier and regullion didn’t have to come in narrow because guardiola loved to place his wingers on the far wings, and have his midfield attack the space.
@@kingsmarvel1389 City had a few chances that is pretty dangerous. One is inside the box that was blocked by their own player. Another is De Bruyne when he got free shot just outside of the box. He was scoring this kind of goals often. So it could be a goal in another day. I think Tottenham deserve the win. But it doesn't mean City was without chances to win the game. Lol you can wait and see how it is if Tottenham lost Kane or Son due to injury and how their results will be. Especially against top sides.

This was vintage Mourinho. Another 90 min example of Mourinho at his tactical finest- This might be one of his greatest games as Spurs manager thus far. 🧠 COYS
Jose did the simplest thing just covering the passing line
Playing off the ball is one the hardest part of football kid
LMAO you think that's simple
City players just pass pass pass when it’s comes to scoring goals they pass out
It is because if you watch them, they are actually afraid and hesitant to play the final ball/cross. They pass endlessly, and if the defence falls asleep, they carve out a great chance. But if not...

I think another thing we can't underestimate with this result is the resolve and resilience this is going to create within Tottenham as a club. Jose has always thrived in that "us against everyone" mentality (Inter, Porto, Chelsea especially) and he's definitely found that environment with Spurs. Spurs have always been "punching above their weight" and fighting to be recognized as a big club, which creates the conditions for Jose to succeed, and once things start going his way (even a little bit) it's very difficult to stop. It's a brilliant appointment by Daniel Levy and I (even though I'm not a Spurs fan) am happy to see everything working out between them since they're both among the best in the game in their respective roles.
Spurs have not consistently punched above their weight lol they have had a really good team for some time now snd accomplish nothing. If anything, Spurs is a big team that can’t seem to break their mid table mentality. Leicester and wolves are teams that punch above their weight not Spurs
This is the best defence i have seen spurs played in years
Thanks to Ledley King!

Spurs backline started higher up the pitch when City had possession This has the effect of condensing the space for City to play in. Spurs backline retreat toward their goal as required when City play forward passes. Spurs/Mourinho know the importance of protecting the middle of the pitch. They always had numbers in the middle at all times in this match. City's response to this is to put a player high and wide on either flank to try and make the pitch as wide as possible. This in turn forces Spurs to flatten out out when defending. They always keep their back four protecting goal/18 yard box this means it is crucial for both spurs wingers to track back and not allow City to have a numerical advantage on the flanks as they push their fullbacks and wingers forwards. So that's why Spur's defensive shape in this match often looked like a flat back four and a flat 5 in midfield protecting them. This is very difficult to play through even for a team of City's calibre. Mourinho makes sure his team is organised and disciplined defensively. Mourinho defensive tactic is to compress the space. He concedes field position and also concedes XG to the opposition but it's difficult for the opposition to get quality chances on goal. There would always be spurs players protecting that goal. Whilst City have very high quality players, spurs do also. They are intelligent and are able to compete soundly with City. So even though City did at times manage to play through spurs and get a shot away there would always be a spurs limb, or anything to get in the way.. That's what guarding the goal and centre of the pitch is all about. Mourinho doesn't care for philosophies or "possession". He is a winner and that is all that matters - the final score. He knew he was coming up against one of the stronger teams in the league and he doesn't need to prove himself by trying to beat City at their own game. He anticipated how they would play and formed a strategy on how to beat them. He knew he had to defend because City have a lot of firepower. He had to put a lot of men behind the ball to accomplish this so that means he often played on the counter to score. Personally I don't have a problem with this. Mourinho still laughing at the haters... By the way Spurs first goal was a beautiful piece of play where the midfielder summed up the situation and played a great pass to Son. Spurs play to the opportunities that present themselves. City unlucky though IMO with the handball call. Could have changed the outcome of this match.
The offside goal would have been the best team play of the season
That handball call was dead right

Tottenham Hotspur might actually win a title this season.
Don't get too carried away too early.. Sarri's chelsea were still considered as one of the challengers in 2019 season after 11 or 12 matches.. Then we know how Liverpool & City made the league as their own contest.. Same thing happened last season with Leicester,, they were one of the challenger until December, and we all know how it ended and everyone's suddenly changed the narratives that Liverpool got no competitions at all... Our defenders were, truly, magnificent against Man City ❤✔ You could, almost, see them thinking for each other ⚽️⭐ COYS!!
I feel City played their all, by going full attacking mode with 8 players in the opposition box at times which required Spurs to “park the bus” , however it wasn’t just park the bus, the way Spurs counter attacked with few touches and passing the ball where it hurted City the most makes this victory so satisfying. City kept going and going, not allowing Spurs to have the ball by making huge pressure, they had to be clever with the little time they had the ball and that’s what they did. Defensively they hadn’t flinched, kept their concentration at all times.
What is Park the bus.? I dont know the meaning... I know possesion and ikniw counterataking...bus i know as a transport ! On the end what mather is to win! Games existe to win!!! The rest is story..
@@joseaugustomartins9271 Parking the bus is used to refer to when a team has a low block/is very defensive, usually having 8 or 9 players near the defensive line, with one or two players remaining higher off the pitch for counter-attacks (this is a very simplified version), but since you technically create a wall between the goal and the opposing team, it's as if you park a bus in front of the goal
@@armendibrahimi5215 hi. I know my friend..i waS joking!! Because for me parking the bus doesnt existe!! Its a depreciative comment for José, because he plays counteratack!! And he wins in all countries he worked!!!!
@@joseaugustomartins9271 For me personally I enjoy to watch a team defending well with nice tackles as much as I enjoy attacking. The "parking the bus" term is a term someone told me as a way the demerit Tottenham’s win. For me its simple, if you play head to head against City or playing their game, you’ll definitely lose, the counter-attack for me is as valid as a possession based football, in the end of the day, what matters is the 3 points and a team does whatever it takes to get there. People say Mourinho has a defensive philosophy, that’s simply not true, he adapts the game philosophy according to the opponent unlike a lot of managers who only have a plan A even if they’re losing 6-0. I love Mourinho by the way, I’ll never forget his spell at Porto particularly the last minute goal against MU.
“Defence is the greatest form of attack”
Bergwin was switched with sonny on left side to counter kyler Walker speed
As a FC Porto fan, I've followed Mourinho since his early days. He has always had success when: 1 - The team accepts what he instructs them to do and work as a team and not a collective of prima-donas (Porto, Inter, first Chelsea, first Real Madrid) 2 - The media and opposition fans focus on him vs his players - relief of pressure on the team and Mou plays his mindgames

Need tactical analysis for Barca and atheti too
what’s to analyze it was a shambles. i’ll give you a run down. barça still don’t understand how to or when to press and some key errors like ter stegen and piques cost barça the game. messi is tired after long travels and there is nobody to occupy the center backs or to make runs. the left side of barca’s attack was dead apart from jordi alba but in turn that lead to a lot of attacks from atleti on the counter and after atleti scored they went full on low block. there’s the run down

Mourinho was able to achieve this result simply by cutting supplies to De Bruyne and even after redrawing him from that position,he did the same job on Foden. He read the game better.👍

Great video. Enjoyed the breakdown
Mou did great, i like peps tactic more than Mou. However Mou idea to do mid block is genius, he knew that if they press high City Gk would step up and overload them. But if they do mid block, City don't have +1 man against them. And they would have better chance to counter since they have Son-Kane to exploit City high line. City really miss the creativity of maestro (D. Silva) and depend to much on De bruyne. Bernado need to improve. Also Pep need to find a way to counter counterattacking team like Tottenham who like to sat deep and do mid block. They don't have a big target man to do cross, maybe they need to do more shoot from outside of the box. In the end both teams play their best Tottenham maybe win the league and city need to improve if they want to won atleast one silverware.

Great video! If possible, could you do an analysis of Atleti vs Barcelona 1-0?
Spurs in defense are doing one thing very good: covering passing lanes in halfspaces and marking De Bryne and Bernardo + using Kane like target player in transition
We found that sissoko and and hoijberg dropped into fullback roles and the two fullbacks protected the center backs more. giving spurs a potential back 6, son, berg and ndombele played as a mid 3 whereas kane would sit just in front. Potential formation would have been 631 giving spurs the speed and strength through the central areas of the pitch, out of possession they still utilised the speed of attack. Love you channel and certainly would like to hear you opinion on this.
This is a young coach from Jamaica my advice never let a team force you to give the goal line from keeper to keeper that's the central region vertically,it is always easier to reach goal using central tactics in other words the diamond within the rectangle (the Brazil flag) the most effective formulation). Whenever a team wishes you to do so give back there same dose of medicine keep central adjust quickly if or when they go flanks (bitto-Splash)
To those pointing to the chances City created - Spurs have the record of most chances created and most saves against (or did if it has recently been beaten) in one Premier League match, we created something like 31 chances against Newcastle 5 odd years back and lost 1-0! They had one shot that day and we had so many on target! I prefer this team, grind out the wins, bring the flair and style after we have won something under Mourinho :) He knows what he is doing!
Son's quick goal at 4'' helped a lot... Makes city so desperate to score the equaliser...
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FIR THIS
Many still believes Mourinho plays old style forgetting that he perfectly understood how Pep likes to play. If he had played the attacking style with the 2 full back dropping in to push the ball up the pitch he would have clearly lost the game because the double pivot will allow city to play wide into flank and create some spaces between or behind the back line which sterling likes to capitalize on. If you ask me. I give it to Jose anytime because he know what to do with the resources he has.
Great breakdown 👍
0:21 that Mourinho's face is the best thing in this video so far
Mourinho did simply outcoach pep
people saying mou is finished. he literally won at least one thing for each of the clubs he was associated with. he never stopped winning trophies, even for sub-par teams like united at the time he was there. he's not the innovator he once was but he still understands football like few do.
Great analysis!
Sometimes the teams complete their circle with a manager! This is what has happened with city and pep. Best thing for both is to part ways before either fall short of their performances.
After Watching the tv show ”all or nothing: Tottenham” on Amazon Prime I became a huge fan of mourinho and spurs. Hopefully, they are going to succeed this season.
This guy could replace OGS at United.....🔥🔥🐐
In the right moments and with the right pieces or conditions Mou can beat superior Pep team(whether his best Barca XI, his Bayern or his City) any day of the week, look how he tactically beat Pep's Barca with Inter and Madrid in King's Cup and La Liga game in his 2nd season there. He usually move the pieces on the chessboard to find the right solution to win.
"The Experienced One"
I like jose's tactics, it reminds me of Real Madrid 2011/12 Son = Ronaldo Kane = Benzema Now they have to find new ozil
I think the possession stat means very little, especially if you take the lead within 5 minutes. You don't want to tire your players, but stay calm - let the opposition work hard and stretch themselves, then look for opportunities as gaps start to open up. Also, City are one of those teams that will go all-out attack all game - if you try to play the same, you may win 4-3, lose 4-3 or draw 3-3 - great entertainment, but more of a gamble in terms of getting the points.
Jose always aims to nullify opponents strength in City was to overload the midfield.
MOURINHO is the BEST COACH IN HISTORY
The special one is back
I have one thing to say...I love Tottenham
I like your analysis!
Great analysis, especially liked the Ex Goals point. I think Man City are both too predictable, leaving them open to good counter attacking teams, and too one dimensional, so when they go behind they can't adjust and shake up the opposition. I'm a Spurs fan and I think we can do things this year, loved Poch but was too cosy and players have responded to Jose.
Respect to jose, a good manager should be solid in his defensive tactics and Jose proven this time & time again
Imagine playing two RBs and conceding from the right, smh
😂😂😂😭😭😭
Dunno why Pep could beat or outscore Mou team with 3, 4 or even 5 goals. When Mou team beat Pep team, whether its Barca or City, Mou always use tactical playstyle and possibly mind games to outplay Pep's team. There's many Pep v Mou matchup where Pep would beat Jose much more often, but when Mou win, like in Spanish Cup final in 2010 he used more tactical approach to beat Pep, even putting C. Ronaldo at number nine position and flex 5 defenders during defense or 4-3-2-1 during offense, not to mention his deadly counter attack offense during the game.
Ferran Torres should become a striker rather than a winger. He’d be much more effective
Directly came for ur channel😄
Could you do a Mourinho Chelsea 2014/15 season tactics
Feran is more lethal in his proper side, but Pep has a thing in putting right footed in the left side and left footed in the right. Teams are well aware of that so they make the use their weak foot by force.
Nice video 👍 would love to see Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid 0-1 analysis
Pep still really good, but his framework is no longer the best in the league. With David Silva transferring away, Pep was hoping Bernardo would form another double pivot with De Bruyne. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out, despite Bernardo impressive performance, he’s not David Silva yet. De Bruyne ended up having to carry the team mostly by himself. His other weapons like Sane didn’t play so well, got injured and now transferred away. He will have to rebuild his team, again. Defenders like central backs and defensive midfielders have always been Pep’s weak point, with him asking a lot from them: strong, precise defensive play, ability to pass and rotate the ball, long passing accuracy and solid dead ball defence. After Puyol, Busquet, Lahm, Pep never had anyone as good. Gundogan was very good, but he hasn’t been able to capture his Dortmund’s days somehow. This is quite ironic in a way, considering Pep himself played in these positions. I put Pep’s lack of title in the Champions League down to his problems with defenders. No team without solid defence has been able to win the Champions League. Man City is no exception. Perhaps it is the desire of the team’s scout and president to recruit attacking players and neglect the back that’s the root of their Champion League’s drought.
I think from the chance City created. it means that mourinho didn't make city hard to attack. it's just because City didn't have the right striker to convert those chances they have. I think it's just city that should buy new striker
Really looking forward to spurs Vs Liverpool. Mourinho knows how to beat pep, and after a long time his team had the quality. He hasn't developed the formula to beat klopp though. Will be interesting
Keep it smart and simple.
Great video. If possible have player names instead of numbers. Thanks
when I saw mike dean was gonna b the ref, i saw straight away the game wasn't gonna go our way and that was exactly what happened they deserve to win the game tactically but we dominated them from start to finish and we got robbed again exactly the same story as last season if our goal was given (which it should), it would've been a different game and much more entertaining to watch but since it wasn't then we kinda lost the momentum but congrats to spurs they should enjoy their moment coz this year the league is tough
I said it when he was signed but mourinho is a winner, he could even make those bottlers look like champions
