Mat's mum is BACK! But she's not drag racing today, she's being treated - Mat's going to buy her a new car!
It's time to say bye-bye to her SEAT Leon - she's making the move to electric! Now, of course, we're not short of choice when it comes to electric cars these days, so Mat's brought together six of the best so they can get up close & personal with them to find out which is best for his mum.
They'll start off looking at three cheap options - the Peugeot e-2008, the Volkswagen ID.3, and the Vauxhall/Opel Mokka-e. Once they're done with those, they'll take a look at more expensive options - we've got the all-new Audi Q4 e-tron, the Volvo XC40 Electric, and the Tesla Model 3 Standard-range Plus.
Mat and his mum are going to take a close look at each car to determine which one she likes the most. Checking out their interiors, back seats, and boot through to how they drive, this is the ultimate review video for someone looking to pick up an all-new EV!

Great video, loved how much information was given to Sally! Although, I'd like to point out that the q4 does have a fast-charging capability. With a DC charging unit you can charge from 5-80% in under 30 minutes.

The Volkswagen was the more modern of the lot (even aesthetically), but the Tesla was from a superior category: though choice. However, the empty dashboard with the giant tablet it's a huge turnoff for me.

Well it's because she isn't American. Over here in Europe SUVs are stupid, pointless and waaaaaaaaaaay more costly than they should be (both to buy and to maintain). There is nothing wrong with getting a small hatchback or sedan if 90% of your driving is gonna be around the town. If you need a bit more spacious car, you can always go the estate way - plenty of choice there. Also estates are MUCH more comfortable on long journeys then tall SUVs. I regularly get car sick when i travel in some SUV; have no problem in any other type of car. And last - there is just NO POINT of an SUV which will never touch grass, sand or mud.

Hey Matt! Great video love your mom’s reactions throughout the video, she’s a great addition to your channel, and she made the right choice, and she will not be disappointed! So welcome to the Tesla family, it’s only going to get better, and better, and better! So I was happy to see that you pointed out the advantages of having access to Teslas exclusive network of Superchargers, however, I would’ve also pointed out the charging speed, as well as plug-in and go advantage of using the Tesla supercharging network of superchargers, the autonomous driving features, and also the over the air updates (OTA) as Tesla is the only company that does this as part of their continuous improvement of their cars abilities on a consistent basis! So I’ve had my Tesla Model 3 now for a little over 3 years, and it’s an absolute tour de force, as there is nothing out there that can touch it, and it is still a head turner, as it’s a stunning looking car. So I have the premium white interior with the premium infotainment system, premium paint, premium wheels, this thing is loaded, and it drives, and feels like I just drove it out of this showroom, and I don’t have the performers model, I have the dual motor all wheel drive with the long range battery pack option, and the full self driving package, and I haven’t seen anything out there that can touch it at whatever the price, and I don’t understand where this range anxiety is coming from that you cited, because my Tesla Model 3 is a 2018, rated at (316) miles between charges, and I can tell you, that range is pretty much dead on, so all this talk about range anxiety all this talk about losing range, I haven’t experienced any of that and I’ve driven my Tesla in all weather conditions down to the point where you get the low battery warning light which is around 40 miles left on the battery, and so the range is just absolutely fantastic, more than enough range between charges, and the other thing is a lot of people are not paying attention to their tire pressures, so remind your mom to always check the tire pressures, and make sure that those pressures are maintained, as that’s how you get the best range, and a clean car gets better range too, so always keep your car clean, as a dirty car with under inflated tires will absolutely factor into the kind of range you can expect to get, and don’t carry unnecessary things in the car that you don’t really need or use on any consistent basis! So thanks for posting this video, I really enjoyed your mom taking the test drive, and seeing her facial expressions pretty much told the story, and she absolutely made the correct choice! Cheers! Go Tesla! Oh by the way, shout out to all the brave people in Ukraine fighting against this monstrous attack against their country!
