I have painted this historic character time ago. And yes, is a ss wafen german soldier with some us GI parka, take probably after elements of the 14th Cavalry Group were ambushed and destroyed outside of Poteau. December 18th 1944. I added the detail of the cigar in his mouth, which he has right when they took the photo, on which the soldier's pose is based. And not in his hand (this details is missing in the miniature, but not in the box art)

Great job...except...what he is wearing is a torn german camo jacket. Some uniform experts broke down the footage of this soldier. For the longest, everyone thought he was wearing a US army water proof cover. Just a really worn out camo jacket.
