  • I'm a first-timer watching your videos. I have a malamute mixed with a samoyed and German shepherd mixed with samoyed. The malamute is a beast! She has done everything she can get away with. Destroyed 2 couches, a recliner chair, a plastic swimming pool, and houdini from her cage. You name it the list goes on. I'm going to try this with her to see if it will help with her nipping. She's independent and a mind of her own along with "selective hearing" she only heard what she wants! I'm subscribing and see if other videos will help me train her. The shepherd is calm and mellow. No issues there.

I do make a high pitched noise like you have suggested before, and it does help but sometimes he just wont let go. I know its normal for a puppy to bite, but WOWEE. My husky pup is super smart though. I didn’t think a puppy could be this smart. He learned to sit in literally 10 minutes. Same thing with speak. PS: Love your videos! Keep up the great work.

  • We had a sweet Mal husky mix, she was a biter too but grew out of it eventually but left dents in our hands during her puppy phase. Eventually she learned if I cried out and ignored her, showing I was hurt, she gradually began to lick my hand instead. I rewarded her when she did start to lick. I thanked her too (don’t laugh it worked). Giving her a marrow bone to gnaw on also helped with the mouthing stage. She grew out of it into such a sweet girl. Missed her so much that we got an 8 month old rescue husky on steroids. What were we thinking. So here I am to refresh my memory and share the war stories lol.

If he finds food on the rug, he tries to try and pull it up I feel if I don’t stop him he will pull till it comes up. He very disruptive. Loves paper! I’ve tried to not get mad when he’s not so disruptive sometimes it’s hard. And yes I am all scratched up and hit. What can stop the biting!! He has plenty of toys that we play with. I want to love on him more but he makes it hard right now. He can be affectionate but only for a few minutes. I just got him a month ago he’s 3months. He starts biting, I immediately stand up & ignore him. After he calms down, I'll sit back down with him & play with him with toys, but as soon as he goes for a hand, toes, clothing or for some reason a boob, I stand up & ignore him. I think he's getting it. I'm doing basically the same with leash training. He's been on a leash 4 times now & has almost completely stopped pulling. Now if I could just get him to learn his name😂

  • I have 3 young kids at home: Two daughters: 9 and 7years old, and the boy is 5years old. Our Isabella white Husky is 10weeks old. We got her at 6 1/2 weeks (we thought she was 8wks), and so my wife and I learned that she missed the momma dog stopping the biting. When my 9year old daughter goes outside to play with our puppy, she starts screaming. She screams when snowflake is nipping and biting her boots and pants and play dresses. In one months time, she no longer trusts our puppy and thus has a lot of anxiety because she does not know if our puppy is going to bite her or not. We have told her and the other two to not screech and yell, and to calm down. We have told them to not run and flail arms like prey, and even tried the distract with toy method; to no avail. It's like they are undoing all mine and my wife's efforts at not having our puppy bite during play.

  • I just took in a husky from a rescue. She is 2 years old. Generally she is very friendly. I have never had a husky before. Two things I am struggling with: First, when I feed her-I was told to feed her twice a day (1 cup). She gets so excited she jumps on the counter and me. She will sit but if I try to place the food on the floor for her she leaves the sit position and lunges towards the food. Second which, I think might be my fault. If she jumps on the counter, I got to pull her back and she bites me. What’s a better way to redirect jumping on the counter?

  • Actually successfully taught this out of my husky and many other good lessons. But one I can't train out is possession aggression, but only with certain things. I can put my hand in my huskies bowl, not a growl, and he won't even eat til he's given permission etc but he's bit and punctured my hand 3 times now over stupid junk he was trying to eat or get that I took away. Most the time I can coax him away from whatever it is with a treat but just can't get him to stop with possessiveness over junk. Weird one. He's great other than that and a calm dude.

    @btjking7@btjking73 жыл бұрын
    • Mine is the same thing too! It's like random crap that she wouldn't care for immediately if at all and that she knows she's not supposed to have and then randomly gets possessive and grumpy over it.

    • @@jayleeclough1199 I explained above what it's over. No not a pup, been like it his whole life, will growl and bite given a chance. Its a nip, realistically a big dog like mine could take your hand off, but bcuz he's big it can puncture when he bites.

      @btjking7@btjking73 жыл бұрын
    • @@nyanaturals2705 my guy is cool about most stuff and pretty chill but over a wrapper or some piece of junk he will bite given a chance. He'd never bite to maim or really hurt but a nip from him can puncture if he catches a soft part which can cause infection so its a pain. Mostly it's just growls though then eventually he will drop whatever it is if I hold him by the collar and offer treats. Still annoying though as it's not really a situation u want to put yourself or the dog in continuously so it's hard to train out as it happens randomly and unexpectedly, usually.

If I see him next to her I say be nice and most of the time he will but if I’m not looking he will hurt her and yes I’m afraid to say we yell at him or push him away that’s the only way he will stop. Had experience with pomeriyan dog prior. My first child always loved and lick out of love. But this husky baby… I don’t know to train him. Will this trick help the puppies too?

  • PLEASE HELP ME Hi I think you are the only person at mo to give me advice. I have a 6 Yr old female husky. She has had a bereavement losing our other dog that was a parsons terrier he was 19 and a half when he passed in February. We got a new puppy last week. She bit him twice no this time she did damagel to him. It was 1.30 am approx. We all were sleeping. No food in the bedroom as that was where we where when it happened. What can I do to stop this, else it will be her having to go which I truly don't want. Thank you in advance

  • I am fostering my son's dog. He is a two yr old husky/ pitbull/ boxer mix. My son's fiancee found him in a box near a dumpster when he was a small puppy, he was well nourished and healthy. Her ex-boyfriend abused him, hit him with broomsticks, I think he wasn't feeding him and kept him kenneled. Snickers is improving with most of his behavior problems but one has gotten much worse. This started recently, 2 months ago. When I walk him, usually after he poops, he starts attacking and biting me. It isn't to inflict pain or dominate; something like play but more like he just gets stuck on retard mode. I have had to walk in with him hanging on my arm because I can't make him stop. He will stop when we get close to the house. Never an issue with this behavior other than on walks. He seems to get overwhelmed by his surroundings. I had him for several months before this started and I have lots of experience and success training dogs with behavior problems. He does need more exercise, we live in WISCONSIN, extreme cold inhibits outdoor activities and this dog does not like the cold.

  • I always thought that if my dog tries to bite, pulling back would make them stop because it would show them I'm nervous and unhappy with what they're doing. Once I got a husky, pulling back never worked, so I started doing what you suggested and it's worked really well😄

    • Hi ! How old are your puppies? What’s latest age to train them ?

      @MaxLunaSasha@MaxLunaSasha3 жыл бұрын
    • @@MaxLunaSasha my puppy is about 10 1/2 months right now. Idk if you're asking me this specifically, but I've heard that training puppies at an earlier age is better👍🏼

  • I recently adopted a 3 year old husky and he’s the sweetest boy ever but he has issues with jumping on people and when we push him off he thinks we play so he bites our hands. Does anyone have any tips???? Everyone I’ve asked say to ignore the dog and turn around but when I did that he bit my side other than that he’s such a sweet boy and loves meeting new people and playing

  • I have brought home a husky from a shelter 3 times taken back by previous adopters. Hes 3 years old Very hyper VERY untrained. Ive raised 2 huskys from birth and had no problems training they l8ved to be 15 and 16 years old. This one though ive had 15 days now ive tried the no pull back method with him and his biting and like you said he does love to bite and nip and the training does not seem to be affecting his need to bite, nip and so forth soo how much longer before he will start to calm down and slow down on his need to do this? He acts like he is thinking milk should be coming out of my fingers😂. Seriously

  • I’ve got a 6 month old Husky, his name is Hades. He’s a lot better about biting hands, thanks to tips from your videos, however when it comes to my girlfriend and he wants her attention, he loves to bite her butt and private area lol. I scold him and try to get him to stop with either a toy, or if it’s bad enough, I give him a timeout in his crate. Just wondering what else we can do to help get him out of that with her. He’s not like that with me, just her.
