  • My pack weighs around 50 - 60 pounds with my rifle in it. I weigh 158 pounds and 49 years old. Several days a week I’m in the hills packing it either coyote hunting or long range rock shooting. Guys will pick my pack up and can’t believe it’s weight and I’ll out hunt or walk them which blows their minds. The thing is, I’m use to it and do it year round, that’s the key. One big help is my mystery ranch overload pack with high mounted load lifters that was custom fitted to me by MR. it carries a 19 pound rifle like no other pack I’ve used!! I think other than being physically fit, it takes a lot of hearts and mental toughness to pack heavy gear, love the podcasts!!

  • What rounds do you recommend for a 223 wylde? I hand load some super accurate 69 gr Sierra match king bthp but they do not drop coyotes on the spot. Even on vital shots I still have them run 50 yards and have even had some run closer to 150. Thank you!

  • Have you guys ever used any Rudolph optics? If so. I was looking to buy one for my 5.56 for prairie dog hunting. Was looking at the varmint series V1 5-25x50 T3 IR from Rudolph. Any input would be great! Love the podcasts on KZhead!

  • Great videos and enjoy how you guys relate what you use to what you do. Far as calibers for your use, do you try to keep it “fur friendly” or just what meets your needs?

  • Love the podcast!! Hey, I coyote hunt with a bolt gun in 6mm-223 shooting 95 gr vld’s in lapua brass with a coal if 2.54”’s. This is long for this cartridge but it allows for full case powder capacity. I know it’s hard to believe this, I understand, but I’m running these Berger’s out of a 22” barrel at 2850 fps without pressure issues. The 6 mm vld Berger at this fps hammers the coyotes up here in West Virginia.

    • waylon unger I hear ya. I’d like to get a nv device but I’d like to get one to attach to my nv rail that’s in my stock to attach it in front of my day optic. The ones I’ve looked at are around 4 thousand and up.
