After my parents divorced, my dad raised me by himself and we took car trips every weekend and this song was heavily played here on radio stations in Germany. Nowadays I live 600 km away from my dad and miss those times but I’m super grateful that my dad managed to raise me by himself and send me to uni ❤️

If I remember they were the victim of radio stations VASTLY overplaying them to the point people were sick of hearing the same few songs. Unfortunately, people blamed Nickelback instead of radio stations. Then it became the "thing" to hate them. What's funny is that hatred actually made them even more popular since they were always being talked about.

As I get older, these songs that I listen to when I was a teenager are starting to resonate as I cross the same bridges these artists once crossed. When I was younger I liked the sound and thought it was catchy but now these songs have become higher resolution in my mind and I listen to the lyrics and the meanings more than I once did. It is scary in a sense.

When I first started listening to Nickelback this was one of the first songs that I loved, I went over to one of my friends houses he was at work and his girlfriend also a friend recorded this album on a disc for me and I have been a fan since!

Also lead singer have been a real asshole multiple times in interviews. He wanted to get paid for playing at a charity event for example. Thats also a part of it.

If Nickelback didn't get so much unnecessary hate, this video would have over a billion views easily. It's a great, catchy song. Well produced with talented musicians who actually play their fucking music. Why everyone collectively decided they were the punching bag of the music industry... I'll never understand. They got repetitive for sure, but holy shit. So many other artists deserve the hate these guys get.
