1994 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti DTM & Mercedes C-Class DTM Reunited on Track!
This video is about two icons of the DTM championship doing a few laps at Monza Circuit: a 1994 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti and a 1994 Mercedes C-Class V6.
Both cars are powered by N/A 2.5-litre V6 engines that are able to reach around 12,000 rpm and a max power of around 400-420hp.

Having a Mercedes and Alfa Romeo together in one video is just fantastic! I remember having gone these races with my dad as a 10-12 year old multiple times. It was a football stadium atmosphere with smoke grenades being thrown during the formation lap (Red = Alfa supporters and Yellow = Opel supporters), fireworks launched and total ecstasy in the stands. But always very friendly atmosphere despite the different likes. We once sheltered from rain underneath a giant Mercedes banner at the Ring in 95 (me with Alfa hat and flag) Too bad that ITC and technology killed it off. If it had stayed with the 93/94 figures, it might have lived for a few more days, but in 1996 Opel spent as much money as Williams did in F1

unfortunatily both marked the end of the good old days of DTM... things went technical totaly out of controll and it started to become a technology race and they had to throw in tonns of money to be competetive.... to much for a national race series

Si ma per essere onesti, e sono un Alfista, la 155 V6 Ti era sportivamente parlando "un trucco"...cioé abbiamo fatto i furbi sfruttando il regolamento a dir poco lasco del DTM dell'epoca e...la macchina aveva ben poco di Italiano. Il regolamento alla voce "motore" specificava solo la cilindrata (max 2500cc) e il fatto che dovesse "essere derivato dalla produzione di serie"...nel '93 esordirono con una versione elaborata del AR2.5 V6 a 60* di serie e la 155 Ti batte facilmente la Mercedes 190c che era solo 1960cc e 4 cilindri in linea. Poi dal '94 quando Audi e Mercedes si adeguarono mettendo in campo dei 2500cc V6 anche loro...barammo di brutto :-D La 155 Ti fu dotata di un monoblocco Lancia SPR con la scusa che "sono prodotti nella stessa fabbrica" dei motori Alfa di serie che era un 2499cc V6 90* studiato per le corse, non di serie, e fu profondamente modificato con tecnologie di F1 prese in prestito dalla Ferrari come la micro-fusione di alluminio, gli fu montata una testa 4 valvole pneumatiche in lega alluminio-magnesio della Cosworth di F1 comandata da una centralina Bosch fantascientifica (di F1 pure quella) che costava all'epoca 300 milioni di lire.... in pratica nei campionati '94 e '95 la 155 Ti V6 gareggiava nel DTM con un motore di F1 2.5 litri che erogava 490 CV a 12.000 giri....te credo che vinse :-D Poi misero a posto il regolamento vietando l'uso di tecnologie di F1 e l'Alfa cominciò a perdere e poi si ritirò dal DTM. Con ciò niente di male però non è una roba da esaltarsi troppo, molto piu figo negli stessi anni le vittorie senza trucchi della Lancia Delta S4 nei Rally :-)

Ooooh shit, that's right, the Calibra 4x4... how could I forget that. But we all know how well Opel faired in the DTM, especially with their Omega.
Yeah that Omega was something else. I believe that was Volker Strycek's effort. The Calibra was succesfull in 1996 with Manuel Reuter.

they don't want any engine aren't you aware of that , PRevious 2016 F1 model is faster then 2017F1 , because they put batteries in them , and made them battery toys , and batteries are heavy , so its slower then previous models and it will remain to be at that rank , it will be a miracle to make F1 totally electric ant that is what their aim is because that's what owners and donors want , electric car that can have changeable parts that will die in due time , lets say 4 years without killing someone . That is their job , more important then racing , obviously since they have faster car, they don't drive it , that is the answer for you engine , they don't want it , they don't want any engine but electric
Dedskin Prodcer/DJ Yeah, I know the want to go 100 % electric but I believe the 2021 regulations will keep the V6 power plants with a less complicated MGU-K and MGU-H for costs. I would be fine with the hybrids if they sounded like this and not the 1.6 litre hoovers.

I was living in The Netherlands back then. To see this on track convinced me to become an Alfisti and purchase a 155 Súper. Mi first Alfa Romeo that is aging gracefully with me. My car was with me in no less than 10 countries in two continents. Now is near 90 thousand km and in mint condition, preceeding my garage with the eight cars of my life, 4 of them Alfas! 😛🍀
