  • Everyone in the comments saying muad'dib clearly have never seen a jerboa which is much more like the muad'dib (and probably what it's based on) than the kangaroo rat is.

    • They're in their own group (genus Dipodomys). They're rodents though, so they're at least relatively closely related to rats.

    • They are called the kangaroo rat because they can jump 9 ft. Straight up in the air to avoid predators like snakes.

    • @@VanellikaB hahaha no way man, that's way too high. I'm 5'5" and if i saw a rat jump twice my height come flying at me, I'd freak. I think it leaps 9ft forward, not straight up
