We tried to ask this question from men and women of different ages.
The responses were interesting. However, it should be noted that these opinions do not represent all Iranians. We only asked this question in Tehran and in one neighborhood. I'm sure in other cities or even different neighborhoods, the responses could be very different. This interview cannot reflect the views of all Iranians.
The questions were asked in the Shahrak-e Gharb area of Tehran. Perhaps in the future, we will ask people from other neighborhoods as well.

    • @@PatriotOfPersia that's a good question. i am also born in Canada and agree with insanetaxicoman. we might haver very different reasons, but here is why i believe it: Canada is participating in neo-colonialism. we support Apartheid Isreal and their genocide. we also support the US in their neo-colonialist wars around the world. we're basically a puppet of the US, hosting the pro-nazi Zelenskyy, where he, our Prime Minister, and virtually all of our house of commons gave a standing ovation to an ACTUAL ww2 nazi war criminal and veteran that has been living peacefully in Canada all this time (along with many others)

  • In the 60s and 70s there were many Iranians coming to Rome. There was such a strong economic and cultural relationship between Italy and Iran. I hope Iranians will bring their sophisticated ancient culture back. Poetry, music, art, cinema. My dream Is to go back to see Isfahan and Shiraz. I wish you all the best.

  • Lots of young Iranians think the streets of the west are paved with gold, that people there live without hardship and every young person has their own car and home. Very often they come to the west, work in minimum wage jobs realise they have to pay lots of money for things like water and electricity and can only afford an apartment that's half the size of the one they grew up in. They see the homelessness the addiction and if they're in America they find out that things like transport infrastructure are much better in Iran. Others of course thrive and for some anything is better than living with the oppressive laws. But there is a huge mismatch between perceptions and realities.

    • In West even if you work as a waiter, you'll be able to buy a phone after a year but it may take you yearrs in Iran if you don't have parents who can support you.

The media painted picture digress drastically from the originality, like India was once called the country of snake charmers. Iran is beautiful, the countryside, the urban, most importantly the beautiful loving people. Love you lots ❤❤❤ I think no place is good or bad, it's the people who turn it into such, but no people is good or bad it's the conditions who make it, who make the conditions, the corrupt crony capitalism...   • I live in Canada in a city that is _packed_ with Iranian immigrants (yes theres other plenty of other countries here as well being that Canada is basically an immigrant nation but I'm just focusing on iran cuz thats what this video is about), i swear, its very rare to go shopping in my district without hearing some passerby speaking in Farsi 😂😂

  • Most Iranian youth have a wrong perception of the west they truly believe its heaven out here,I’m an Iranian living in the US,i work like an animal to be able to catch up with my bills,sure there are beautiful places to visit in the US but you cant afford or have the time to visit those places.im a truck driver who lives on the road ,i see home once a month for 3 days then back on the road again because after doing many other jobs in past which never paid enough for me to be able to buy a house i finally became a truck driver which pays to buy a house ,the problem is i don’t get to go home and enjoy that house

  • It seems that many of the people chose countries with colder climates than I would have expected. Freezing cold temperatures are pretty in photos, but living in it can get miserable.

  • Most of them mentioned the names of European countries, but I think Japan is a country that does not receive the attention it deserves. Japan is at least as developed as Europe, but it is a completely different world from Europe.

  • As a Canadian I have to say I feel sorry for any Iranian who thinks Canada is a good country. Trust me, this country is a mess and it's getting worse every day. Everything in this country is breaking down. Our healthcare system, our education system, our justice system, our political system...........every one of them is a hot mess. I was born in Canada and my family (both sides) goes back to the 17th and 18th centuries but never did I imagine this country could self-destruct like it has over the last 30 years. Don't come here, you'll regret it.

    • They have been brainwashed by false advertising through cinema and KZhead, or they have not very realistic expectations of Western countries these days. I mean, yes, among young people in Russia there is roughly the same attitude quite often. But those who have lived long enough in the US or Canada no longer have rose-coloured glasses.

    • @@mmrxaaa377 Yes and no at the same time. There is a time for growth and there is a time for recession. Many successful Western countries have already entered the recession phase. Those countries that have been in recession for a long time, on the contrary, are entering a phase of growth and prosperity. These processes are constantly being realised in the financial markets, study the financial markets and you will understand how things really work.

  • I used to believe that it is crime in Iran if a girl is not wearing scarf or sari And it is mandatory for a foreign girl traveling to Iran to wear scarf I've read a news that said a boy was arrested for kneeling down and proposing to his girlfriend in a public area Please correct me if my knowledge is wrong 🥺

  • It is good to see different perspectives; it's always a chance to learn new stuff. Keep it up-just a couple of notes. Canada is overrated, way too overrated. The cost of living is super expensive; even if you make good money, it's hard to get by. Ya, it's immigration-friendly, but something has changed recently, as the cap they implemented to reduce the number of international students. It is not that safe, and there are homeless everywhere. It's a beautiful country, but the government is a disaster. About Italy, hey! That lovely older man said we are poor. In southern Italy, ok, I get that, compared with other parts of Europe, but the north of Italy is one of Europe's wealthiest and more industrialized areas.

  • I'd say much of northern europe. Humane and progressive. A society is judged by the way it treats its most unfortunate. By that maxim, north Europe would get about 6 to 7 out of 10 for me. My nation India would get about 0.5 to 0.7. America between 1 and 2.

  • Very interesting to hear our voices from Iran. I’m from Ukraine and unfortunately Iranian gov supporting russia with drones to attack us, causing so much tragedy. Although it brings some hope when hearing out regular people. Same as here. With their hopes and troubles. Magnificent history, super talented people. Hope things will go well for Iranian youth.

Ещё я у персов спрашивал почему они приняли ислам и отказались от зороастризма. Я читал Авесту. По моему большинству иранцев из видео нравятся западные страны.

    • Perhaps true. But what is the downside? The young musician can't play his music, because it's "illegal", Iran has "morality police" These videos appear to be in an upper income area. No different than well heeled suburbs in America that have very low crime levels.

  • It's surprising how many mention Canada and know nothing about economical situation here.
