How to replace the air valve in a volleyball that leaks air. This should also work for many other sports balls (soccer, basketball, football, etc.).
The process isn't terribly difficult provided you have the right materials and some hand tools. I purchased my replacement air valve on ebay.

Cool. I've never reused a valve, but...why not? I bought a bag of valves on eBay and have worked with the school and ball club to salvage over a dozen balls, saving hundreds of dollars.

Where to purchase this valve??
I bought a mitre delta hyperseam ball and I tried to inflate it today using an air compressor and then something popped inside. So when you inflate the ball it quickly deflates through the valve hole. The outer material of the ball seems fine so not sure if the valve hole is broken or something inside the ball and if it can be fixed
Did you end up fixing it? My valve thingy pushed in when I tried pumping it
Getting the valve out was really easy. It took me less than 2 minutes to get the whole thing out with a very small screwdriver... Replacing It is a different story...

When we use rubber band method. And I know it works but if after some time the air gets leaked so how to pump the ball again. We need to remove the old rubber or not. Please reply.
Khan Amjad I don't understand your question, but I'd try to inject an egg white to seal small leaks. Not all leaks can be repaired and you might have to pump up the ball before every use.

Valve fallen inside basketball. I have done it. It took me an hour's work though!!! I made a 3 centimeter long cut on the side opposite to the valve and took the valve out. I repaired the cut using a piece 3x6cms of rubber from a bicycle inner tube which I glued inside using Gorilla Glue first one side and when set the other side. Then using a soldering gun and passing it a few times over the cut it was closed airtigt. Then I just inserted the valve in place and pumped the ball. Works fine, no air leaking at all.

Muhammad Rifan I'm not sure how to get the valve out. That has happened to me and I just left it in there. It rattles, but hardly bothers me. If i had to pull it out, I might try to grab it with some sort of hook and try to pull it back out of the hole.

Akash Sonowal have you tried to inject egg white into your ball? Ive had good luck sealing small leaks by injecting egg whites.

I have a football that I did this method with. Only problem is, the valves keep going inside the ball. Any idea why this is happening? And what can I do to get the valve to stay in place?
Unfortunately I do not know. What did the old football valve look like? Are you installing a new one that is similar to the old one?
@@deasttn I installed the exact valve shown in the video. The original valve got pushed inside the football and I couldn't get it out. I'm guessing I'll need a new bladder at this point. The football is pretty special to me. I've contacted Wilson about this, as the ball is an official NFL game ball. I'm hoping they'll be able to help me out. I'll let you know how it goes.
@@rokstar807 best of luck. You might be able to buy a cheap football and remove it's bladder and insert that into your good ball? Footballs have laces that you can untie. I've never done that, but there's probably another KZhead video on how to do it?

Try to dig it out. The top of the valve does not block the air, so it's ok if the top gets damaged.
Are all valves on different brands the same?

I tried doing this, but some balls have such a small opening its impossible to get the new valve in.
Interesting. I've not found any that I haven't been able to replace, yet (i've only done volleyballs, though). I usually lube the valve a lil with saliva and push in with my nut driver. Some require a lil more effort, but they've all gone in for me.

Would a crochet hook work? Also, does any valve fit? Im using an mva200 mikasa volleyball
I've only seen one size valve, so I'd say it would work. A crochet hook would probably work. Needle nose pliers also work.

Psycho, have you located the spot of leak? Fill a bucket of water and submerge the ball to locate the leak.

Putu Toshi you can always try one of those car tire plugs. If you use a lot of rubber cement, it might self seal after you fill with air.
Sorry to hear that you can't repair your basketball valve. I've not had 100% success, either (some still have leaks along the seams).
