Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

    • @@raindownchoas Yes, thats it: "Ireland's Supreme Court has ruled that bread sold by the fast food chain Subway contains so much sugar that it cannot be legally defined as bread. The ruling came in a tax dispute brought by Bookfinders Ltd., an Irish Subway franchisee, which argued that some of its takeaway products - including teas, coffees and heated sandwiches - were not liable for value-added tax. A panel of judges rejected the appeal Tuesday, ruling that the bread sold by Subway contains too much sugar to be categorized as a "staple food," which is not taxed. "There is no dispute that the bread supplied by Subway in its heated sandwiches has a sugar content of 10% of the weight of the flour included in the dough, and thus exceeds the 2% specified," the judgment read.

    • May I try? You have a sour, old candy whose sabor nobody is looking for (GameStop). Your candy costs $5. I borrow your candy today. It’s still your candy but I have it in my pocket. Then, I go to my neighbor and sell it for $5, how do I sell something isn’t mine? Doesn’t matter, I’m allowed to do so. I sell the candy to my neighbor for $5, and now I have $5 instead of your candy. The day after tomorrow, since nobody is looking for that specific candy, its value is $2. I have $5 in my pocket from selling it, ¿remember? I go to my neighbor, buy the candy and I’m left with a profit of $3 ;) Then I say to you: thank you for your now $2 candy. I made $3. However, when a lot of people (Reddit) are looking for that specific candy, it’s price rises, so, my neighbor, instead of selling it to me for $2, or $5, decides to sell it for $10. Since I’m forced to give the candy back to you, I have to pay $10 for it, therefore, I lose $5. That’s how Reddit is costing millions to Wall Street.

    • @@dianabarrazabarraza6776 but gme was trading for 2.54$ at one point, those share were definitely worth more than that, with the changes made to the company it has a fair market value of 130$ according to seeking alpha, add to that 140% short interests, and we end up with higher and higher share prices. The shorts had many opportunities to cover their positions and instead they doubled down. I bought in at under 20$ a share, I read deepfuckingvalue/roaring kitty's dd, I looked back at share prices during the last two console cycles, and I figured the price was going up, once I understood options trading I knew it was a share thing. This week I wanted to get out, I was worried regulators would halt trading, I never thought brokers and clearing houses would screw over retail investors this badly. The idea that wsb is targeting the stock purely because of short interests is bs, we are not manipulating the share price, the shorts are.

    • I’m not expert on the topic, but I assume is some sort of contract between the original owner and the investor, and since shares aren’t an actual physical object, you can do that easier than with a house, for example. To be honest, the movie “The Big Shot” makes a great job at explaining how Wall Street makes money out of not physical entities.

      @dianabarrazabarraza6776@dianabarrazabarraza67763 жыл бұрын
    • @@davinbacon now you just mentioned a lot of concepts I don’t know 🤭 but the situation with short investors is that they don’t actually care how much it’s worth today, but how much they’ll be when they end betting on those shares. I assume they didn’t see GME with a possibility of significantly increasing its value in the near future. Additionally, since those are shares, they could buy when the price started rising.
