James Corden kicks off the show trying to wrap his head around the raging battle between Wall Street hedge funds and retail traders organized on Reddit over companies like GameStop and AMC. And James wonders why he's still hosting the show in a suit before he gets an overview of Waffle House.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."
The news will demonize them, but those reddit dorks are heroes.
reddit is both a blessing and a curse to mankind. today its been a blessing
Yup- esp. FOX will demonize them but yeah, they are heroes!
I’ll hold all my stocks till they are on the fucking Moon 🚀🚀🚀

I cannot believe a million dollar late night show used the stonks meme as a thumbnail
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂↗↗↗↗↗↗
I've never heard of a "stonks meme" before.
He'll try anything to be funny
Eh. A single reedditor can buy the studio now then.
To you who is reading this comment You are amazing & hope you are safe😷 My dream is to hit 40k any help is much appreciated🤗
this feels like you’re at a dinner party with you family and your funny uncle is just being himself. it really is amazing
Love this more laid back and less scripted style. Even funnier
me toooo
What's nice is that the crew seems to be genuinely having a good time and it's infectious. It doesn't feel forced or pandering.
@@lonelyone That's exactly it. It just seems like a group of co-worker friends having a good time while working. It's refreshing to see.
Ich stimme zu.

I know James is a showman who likes to perform for a crowd, but the loose, improvisational nature of the show this last while is so much more fun.
To you who is reading this comment You are amazing & hope you are safe😷 My dream is to hit 40k any help is much appreciated🤗
Nice to see how well he gets along with the gang
100 %
I was laughing so hard at Ben Affleck I scared my dog. Lol
This improvisational stuff harkens back to the great days of Craig Ferguson. I like when you cut the hosts loose of the script.
I have to say that this intimate atmosphere and this family table feeling of the show makes it the best late-night show right now. Love to watch them all laugh.
Zuma Zuma you are the minority because the show has become more like an informal British talk show, the views for the monologues has shot up so clearly a lot of people like the more random and informal style.
agreed
Agreed There is a real warmth between everyone and the chaos reminds me of Craig Ferguson.
This is more similar to how Craig Ferguson ran his show when he had it, I like this more than how James used to be. This doesnt feel nearly as staged or fake.
@Zuma Zuma That’s exact why so many people love this show now.
James is way funnier when he's just goofing around with the crew than the scripted bits, I think. But then again I was a big fan of Craig Ferguson's show and he improvised most things, so maybe that's just the style of comedy I like.
Agree, I love their chemistry, it's kinda just watching people that enjoy working with each other and just having fun with each other.
I was just thinking the same, the unscripted aura of Craig is still in the air.
It's always great when they break loose from the script on late night shows. You can tell when a joke is created in the moment as opposed to reading something off the cue cards. I like the authenticity of those laughs versus the "bits."
Even Conan's show is better when he improvise, that's why his remotes are classics, shows how fast and witty they can be.
This show is slowly turning into "some friends having a fun chat" and I think I'm liking it.
The part where James get’s lectured by the director had me dying
Same
I can’t believe they left it in, that’s why I love this show 👌🏼
Can someone tell me why they wanted to cut that bit? I didn't get it
Can anyone explain what happens there?
@@mohsenghodsi1439 probably because waffle house isn't a sponsor, free publicity is bad, and so is being sued for slander
These unedited ones are SO SO PERFECT
I'm sorry but whenever they pan to his "studio audience", it makes it look a bit like a hostage video 😂😂
LMFAOOO
😂😂🤣
Not sure if they want to clap
This is so chaotic and I´m HERE FOR IT

As funny as the capital conquest.
Same I was like whattt this was funny
ive never "liked" a late show monologue, but the guy on the p.a. cutting off the vafflehaus gig got me haha
Lol. Nein!!!
Gahahahahgaah! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
so glad they don't cut out the bits with the staff.
Somehow this show always ends up having the energy of like, when you're 13 and you go to a sleepover party and it's time to go to bed, and you're all in your sleeping bags on the living room floor and sitting there in the dark you start talking about everything and giggling hysterically. I don't know about everyone else, but that was always my favourite part of the sleepover.
it is so true XD
MORE OF THIS PLEASE!!! Thanks for making my day 🙏🙏🙏👍🤣😭

Absolutely. I was not expecting that!!!

I was never a fan of James but this style of Late Show is hilarious. All these improv and banter is way more hilarious than any thing they ever done. Keep it up!
German accent, and a joke about people upstairs (CBS corp) doesn't watch any of their show. Its getting closer to a Craig Ferguson show now. And I love it
Russian accent too. I want to combine a german with a russian and have a baby
Totally! :)
I wonder what the cut Richard Gere joke was. Something about a gerbil...?
THE VERY FIRST thing that I thought of!
This is quickly becoming my favourite late night show. James's personality and interactions with the crew are so much fun :)
Almost choked on my drink when he said 'emotional support bat'
In Ireland a court declared that Subway bread isn't actually bread. So if Subway tuna isn't actually tuna this means that a Subway tuna sandwich is neither tuna nor sandwich. And not even delivered in a subway. NOTHING IS REAL!!!!
buy GME
It's like the Matrix
Wait...why isn't it bread?
@@raindownchoas I think the reasoning was that the amount of sugar in the "bread" was too high for what is allowed in bread in Ireland, but I'd have to look it up again to be sure. The case is a couple of weeks old already and I only randomly heard of it.
@@raindownchoas Yes, thats it: "Ireland's Supreme Court has ruled that bread sold by the fast food chain Subway contains so much sugar that it cannot be legally defined as bread. The ruling came in a tax dispute brought by Bookfinders Ltd., an Irish Subway franchisee, which argued that some of its takeaway products - including teas, coffees and heated sandwiches - were not liable for value-added tax. A panel of judges rejected the appeal Tuesday, ruling that the bread sold by Subway contains too much sugar to be categorized as a "staple food," which is not taxed. "There is no dispute that the bread supplied by Subway in its heated sandwiches has a sugar content of 10% of the weight of the flour included in the dough, and thus exceeds the 2% specified," the judgment read.
LOVE the whole chemistry and unscripted parts, please keep that up. It's so natural and hilarious.
Late Late shows right after coming out of the garage are the best, James let’s loose and free and the riffing with the staff is the best. No other late night show has this energy and vibe! Suit no suit Late lates where it’s at.
The last third of this monologue was AMAZING 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Am I the only one who felt in love with this!!! The show needs to be more like this!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
MemeStock actually sounds like it’d be super lit
Meme and song correlation. On point.

Opening acts will be Numa Numa Guy and Nyan Cat
Yo, but did you hear about the russian vaccine?
Well, Colbert did a poll to ask if people wanted him to continue wearing a suit, I think.
Yup. Pretty sure...
First!
I honestly love Colbert causal. He pulls off a sorta goofy professor vibe.
I think it was Conan who first ditched the threads back when he changed to a half-hour format. Makes it feel more relaxed, less rigid. I always thought the dressing up was for the fancy guests anyway, since they're always dressed to the nines.
I just love how James and his crew take the piss out of eachother lol
james: we had to take out a joke about richard gere everyone: *laughs at unspoken joke because we already get it
Dave Chappelle 20 years ago: "Can someone find Ja Rule so I can make sense of all this!"🤣🤣🤣
The first thing that came to mind 🤣🤣
Ah someone else remembers! 😁👍
Hahahahahah!!!!!
It's really fun, nice seeing the band and support staff ect. get involved in the conversation. Love it
Really obsessed with these videos! Always watch immediately after uploading. Stay safe out there everyone ❤️❤️
Seriously, this is fantastic. I would watch this, people having a conversation about some scripted segments. I love it!
Have these monologues always been this casual? I'm loving it!
I've been watching these opening segments avidly recently. I find them the funniest things being broadcast at the moment. Thanks so much!
8:13, look closely. Does Reggie have a salad on his keyboard? ... That's about right.
The time Gordon Ramsey took them to the airport, Reggie also had a bowl of salad 🥗 in his car and left it there. I thought it was part of the joke
it's broccoli
People keep explaining this shit to me and it gets more confusing every time they make an example. I feel like Michael Scott... Explain this to me like I'm 5 Oscar.
May I try? You have a sour, old candy whose sabor nobody is looking for (GameStop). Your candy costs $5. I borrow your candy today. It’s still your candy but I have it in my pocket. Then, I go to my neighbor and sell it for $5, how do I sell something isn’t mine? Doesn’t matter, I’m allowed to do so. I sell the candy to my neighbor for $5, and now I have $5 instead of your candy. The day after tomorrow, since nobody is looking for that specific candy, its value is $2. I have $5 in my pocket from selling it, ¿remember? I go to my neighbor, buy the candy and I’m left with a profit of $3 ;) Then I say to you: thank you for your now $2 candy. I made $3. However, when a lot of people (Reddit) are looking for that specific candy, it’s price rises, so, my neighbor, instead of selling it to me for $2, or $5, decides to sell it for $10. Since I’m forced to give the candy back to you, I have to pay $10 for it, therefore, I lose $5. That’s how Reddit is costing millions to Wall Street.
Diana Barraza Barraza this is great thank you! I still don’t get the whole why you can sell something that isn’t yours but 🤷🏼♀️
@@dianabarrazabarraza6776 but gme was trading for 2.54$ at one point, those share were definitely worth more than that, with the changes made to the company it has a fair market value of 130$ according to seeking alpha, add to that 140% short interests, and we end up with higher and higher share prices. The shorts had many opportunities to cover their positions and instead they doubled down. I bought in at under 20$ a share, I read deepfuckingvalue/roaring kitty's dd, I looked back at share prices during the last two console cycles, and I figured the price was going up, once I understood options trading I knew it was a share thing. This week I wanted to get out, I was worried regulators would halt trading, I never thought brokers and clearing houses would screw over retail investors this badly. The idea that wsb is targeting the stock purely because of short interests is bs, we are not manipulating the share price, the shorts are.
I’m not expert on the topic, but I assume is some sort of contract between the original owner and the investor, and since shares aren’t an actual physical object, you can do that easier than with a house, for example. To be honest, the movie “The Big Shot” makes a great job at explaining how Wall Street makes money out of not physical entities.
@@davinbacon now you just mentioned a lot of concepts I don’t know 🤭 but the situation with short investors is that they don’t actually care how much it’s worth today, but how much they’ll be when they end betting on those shares. I assume they didn’t see GME with a possibility of significantly increasing its value in the near future. Additionally, since those are shares, they could buy when the price started rising.
Pandemic James Corden is amazing. I love the chill vibe of everyone in the studio just talking to each other. Best late night!
Thanks for being my daily dose of laughter. Love the banter
I’m surprised they didn’t continue the German jokes with the Bavarian cream
Yeah, I was hoping for that! :D
Popular Opinion: Everyone wants a a friend like James Corden
Looking at them all smile and laugh makes me wanna have a team like this 🤣
Love seeing the behind the scenes jokes and shenanigans. Keep this up! ❤️🥳
I think we all agree that this isn't a late show introduction anymore, it's just James and his friends chatting about news and cracking jokes. And we all absolutely love it.
This new format must stay, it's super fun, by far my fav late night show.
I love the raw footage James' keep it uncut
Do the show this way ALWAYS. So so entertaining and makes me feel like part of it!
This was necessary and long awaited. Spread the wealth.
This is the funniest Late show Monologue I've yet heard of!
I love this format for the show; it’s super relaxing and fun to indulge in! James and his crew have the best chemistry together
all I want is a full hour of hearing about everyone's favorite Waffle House items
I suspect the joke James was denied had a connection with the latest method of virus testing, aka "in the rear with the Gere."
Did a little mouse tell you that? ;)
i love how James has a thing he presses to do the automated audience reactions.
This show is destroying every other late night show. These leave me crying😂
I put my stimulus check in GameStop and came back with $8,400! 🔥👊🏾
I have to say their german is pretty much spot on👍
You‘re absolutely right

I think Reggie speaks German
I love the vibe now. Him talking to the crew so loosely gives like a cozy vibe making me feel like I’m one of his pals on set.

Wait- so first subway’s “bread” isn’t bread. And now their “tuna” is a mixture of various concoctions 😳
The reason they went with various concoctions is it sounds better than 100% Dolphin...
I bet they aren't a subway, either.
“Did he fall over?” 😂 this plus spitting image is starting to make me appreciate james a bit more
These casual shows are way more fun, I agree with others! I love hearing the crew laughing and joking around. And I don't think anyone needs to wear a suit, just be comfortable!
"Badger, Mouse, Tarantula" I lost it!
I hope the audience never comes back. This show is so much better without it. Lol
Day 2 of not mentioning You-Know-Who. Let's go
👏👏👏
Lord Voldemort
Jimmy Kimmel?

Does Reggie have a salad in front of him?
Does he have a medical condition that requires him to eat every hour? What other band eats while working?

Someone should inform Dave Chappelle that we've found Ja Rule.
11:00 I was in stitches for that whole section. "Everyone change something on their appearance".

I like the self-deprecating humour and genuine laughter
Emotional support bat. Ok that was funny 😄

Dave Chappelle knew long ago that Ja's word is law. I can't do anything without knowing what Ja Rul would do.
Chappelle said that he didn’t want to hear Ja Rule’s advice though
Literally right before James said the Ja Rule should be from Sweden joke.... I thought it! HAHAHAHAHAHA :D
Love the new feel, would watch more of this
This was one of the best ever for sure
Literally eating a subway Italian bmt watching this
Idk it’s kinda nice to see a talk show host in a suit. It brings a sense of normalcy 🤷🏻♂️
fuck suits. the laid back look is nice.
I think if he did the show looking like a bum, he would lose charisma. Somehow, a man in a suit always has more authority than a man in a track suit - I guess that's social programming.
I wheezed when James started to say NEINN 😂😂
One of the best monos. Love James and the crew ❤
You-know-who had an emotional support bat for years, until he refused to pay him.
i got this joke but not the richard gere one.
