Seltzers are definitely something that grows on you. I started drinking them because of "watching calories" but after few times I nowadays mostly buy them or other dry drinks. The good side is that you get to used to them and they are low in calories. Also after drinking one or two (ten) any cocktail tastes fantastic :D I can tell that normally those lemon ones are dangerously close to taste like a soap but fruity ones are better. (depeds on ur preferenses) I think you will find quite fast which type of seltzer you like. I recommend ginger&apple, kinda easy one to try out. Cheers!
Agreed. First selzer is a bit meh and then you'll just go "it's not too bad" and slowly you start enjoying it

yes but they haw that artificial flavour that is just awfull, if you realy want to enjoy one, buy a bottle of vodka and some sparking water and mix it 1/3 with ice and you got your self a drink
@@vvv5892 I think almost all drinks are better to do from scratch but all in all this is the choice you make when you don't feel like carrying around other than easy cans to grab and drink during a nice summer day. :)

Yeah, orange vodka breezers can be pretty dangerous. When I was younger I remember few ruotsincruises where they caused massive hangovers next morning because they don't taste like alcohol so it does get out of hand quite fast.

On the subject of that Garage drink, you're not supposed to taste the vodka because vodka isn't supposed to taste like anything other than alchol. But good quality vodkas take the edge of it

I don't like overly sweet drinks, so selzers are a decent option.
While getting older, I tend to dislike sweet drinks more and more, so seltzers are great. Specially in summer, when you need a "janojuoma" or two.
I did some research because I wanted to make proper mead myself: sima is actually not mead. Mead technically is fermented honey, and since the modern-day sima has only brown sugar, sugar and lemon in it, it is not the same thing as mead.
Garage hard lemonade is the stuff! You should try it. Or maybe not, because it's very very good.

Isnt it what that seltzer is ? It has a ripe flavor not some candy version of the fruit.
Please do a white wine blind taste test! You could buy 1 kind of wine for example german rieslings from a pricerange like from 8€ to 30€ and rate them.
im happy, that back in the days we didn't have these kinds of drinks. I propably would be a drunk, homeless, sick and bottles collecting hobo. We had to choose beers between olvi, karhu, lapinkulta and koff. Kind of miss those days without worries.. xD
A finnish bartender just didn't understand when I tried to order Garage drink.. had to say "oh right KARAGE".. in a true finnish rally english :)
well as diabetic every no or low carb drink in mild range is good.

Seltzers are almost only alcohol drink I drink, because I hate too sweet drinks, even dry ciders are too sweet for me :D
Dave you should taste Muteman Ginger Beer And Olvi Hard Seltzer Mango & Pineapple i bet you like those :D That ginger beer gives you that afterburn!
How can you tell one does not have an alcohol problem? You take one sip and pour the rest away! Me on the other hand, when I first saw you pouring your drink to waste, I was like "noooo oh my god what are you doing!!" as terrified as if someone was about to fall off a cliff or something :D

That would be due to Cat being a Finnish-Swedish person, from what I gather. It'd make sense that if a part of your extended family speaks swedish, you'd pick up on a bit of it :)
They've also written the tri-lingual children's book together, and from that I gathered their child is learning Swedish too, which is probably an extra motivator. Also my English partner studied some Swedish while living in Finland, as he figured it would be easier to master in case he ever wanted to apply to citizenship. So that may be one possible reason for learning it. Dave shouldn't need to worry about it though, his Finnish is getting really good!

About those hard seltzers, yeah, those are quite bland. But as I have learned from Sorted Food, taste is 80% aroma and 20% actual taste. So in a way those seltzer ready-drinks are made that in mind, get the ethanol effect with limited "good" taste and a lot of aroma to mask the taste, without the calories 😅 This is what has made them so popular IMHO.
And as a sidenote, I would like to see a collab with Sorted, maybe teach them how to make Cave Dad's liver casserole *wink wink* 😁

Any half-decent beers in any store now cost a minimum of 4e, so been switching to seltzers as my go-to beverage, for half the money. There are better and worse ones. The green Olvi is not bad. In the end it's just vodka, soda water and aromats. Not keen on any other alco-pops. There was a time when I drank Moscow Mules in bars, I think that's what that Jallu drink tries to emulate. But at 5,0% not really interested in having any.

Idk if there's many he hasn't already tasted, even on camera. After all he likes mämmi already, but there's now flavored Mämmi's so that could be something maybe 🤷🏻♀️ the chocolate is kinda meh since its same crap in different packaging unless you buy like Kinder and pay more than the 89cents.

I could imagine getting a hard seltzer just because I don't like any sweet alcohol. Ciders, long drinks or Bacardi Breezers are way too sweet for my taste. It's got nothing to do with calories, I just don't like them.

maybe these drinking glasses are wrong shape for this. i think these would taste better on something that is less wide so you get more of that smell.

I like to watch your videos but these alcohol tasting videos give me mixed feelings. I know my 11 year old daughter loves to watch your videos and she understands everything you say. I don't feel comfortable normalising alcohol consumption. I know brits and finns drink a lot, and everybody can live their lives how they want. Candy/food tasting, game videos and finnish lifestyle videos are tempting for my daughter but I know she sees this ideo too. 🤔
