We've packed two of the most famous trails in Moab, UT into one awesome episode. First we hit Hell's Revenge, an epic trail unlike any other with it's massive red rock hills, its like a roller coaster for your Jeep. With a little something for everyone, we had fun all day cruising the trail and going for the big obstacles. We wrap up with Pritchett Canyon, a can't miss stop for any hard core wheeler visiting Moab. With the hardest obstacles outside of BFE, Pritchett always makes for an exciting challenge, especially if you come back down it.

    • After spending a couple hours winching our buddy's $100k build out of the escalator one year some dude shot right up in his damn near stock Nissan Frontier, scraping every corner the whole way up. That's by far my favorite time we've ever been embarrassed by a "less capable" vehicle.

  • We put a top rope on our vehicles and, on certain obstacles, have a few people hold it. Most roll overs can be stopped with just a little pressure on that rope.

  • 2:58 gotta laugh, that stain just to the left of his tire between the trees was left by my buddy and I on our first trip to Moab, I have a 2005 Xterra with a small lift and 32" tires and this was the first time our parents let us go on a road trip. The first day we ran fins and things, the second we ran hells revenge, we tried to go up the hill he is parked on, I gave it too much gas and with no lockers I got way to much wheel speed, when the tire hit rock it snapped the u joint and driveshaft at the same time. My car stalled instantly and I rolled to the bottom of the hill, a bystander looked underneath and told me it wasn't contacting anything (still didn't know what I broke at this point) and told me to back up onto the rock, I got to where that stain is and my driveshaft got caught in-between the transfer case flange and the transmission, a little gas and I popped the corner of the transmission off, leaking fluid everywhere and leaving us stranded. The same bystander that told me to back up graciously gave my friend a ride into town to buy transmission fluid and JB weld, on top of that he even paid for our parts up front because my friend forgot his wallet. I stayed behind and pulled the driveshaft. When they returned we patched it up the best we could, I'll never forget the guy that came by and said something along the lines of "I'm so glad to see young guns like you out hear you modify your car and banzai the f*** out of it, break shit and figure out how to fix it, you give me hope for the future" when the JB weld dried we managed to finish the trail in two wheel drive and make it back to camp. The next day we parked behind the local mavericks and drained the transmission fluid out of it (in to a catch can of course) to try and seal the transmission a little better but our attempts didn't help. The next day we packed our bags and limped it back to Denver. I replaced the transmission the following weekend and was out with my mom to do it again a week later. In the moment I was clueless as to what to do and scared that I may have stranded my friend and I, looking back I will never forget that trip and I am so glad I have the experience. Our mark on hells revenge (for a few years at least) is a great reminder of my trip, just wanted to share my story.

  • hells revenge is definitely more casual assuming you stick to the main trail and don’t do any of the v climbs or hot tubs. I did hell’s revenge at 17 with no previous off-roading experience with ease.

  • Hey, back sometime in the early 90's I drove thru Pritchett C by myself, don't remember seeing anyone else. I did it in a stock 89 Toyota 4WD pickup (short wheel base) with the first version of the V-6; I think later I did a minor 2" or 3" lift to it, where I didn't have to do anything with my driveline. Did it going uphill. And a few years later I hiked up the canyon and noticed that it had gotten much worse, more difficult. So is there, or was there an easier track thru there or did it just deteriorate due to increased traffic? I don't remember any real nasty sections, just that it was definitely difficult. I was living in Durango at the time, and this was before Moab got super-popular with OHV traffic, or the mountain bike craze, etc. I did Hurrah Pass down to the Needles with two friends in the same Toy pickup and only had to have a spotter in that short nasty section. Was that "back in the good ol' days?"
