Rare 1994 Robosaurus Airshow event- he eats a plane - Kalamazoo Michigan
This was taken shortly after the Robosaurus was created. Robosaurus took two years and $2.2 million to build, stands at a height of 40 feet when transformed and fully extended and weighs 31 tons. It is powered by a 500 horsepower, turbo charged, Cummins diesel engine. Four hydraulic pumps are used to manipulate the claws, which can exert 24,000 pounds of force. It houses two 20-gallon propane tanks to produce the fire breath effect, and houses air cannons that can be used to fire confetti, fireworks or missiles.[1]
Similar machines based on the same concept[citation needed] include Megasaurus and Transaurus, as well as less direct imitators,[citation needed] such as "Draco the Dragonator" and "Tranzilla". A parody of Robosaurus, called Truckasaurus, is also present in the TV series The Simpsons in the episode "Bart the Daredevil", and in the videogame based on the franchise, Simpsons Hit 'n' Run.
Robosaurus was auctioned off at the Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction on January 19, 2008.[2] Bidding saw the robotic dinosaur sell for $575,000 USD
Still can't believe someone actually built this
The Metal Gear program seems to be progressing well
That's true
I went to these air shows in Michigan around 2002-2006. I was about 4-8 years old. I WAS OBSESSED WITH PLANES AND DINOSAURS. I saw this thing and felt scared but very fascinated!

I didn’t know this thing was around in the 90s
oh yeah He was! Do you know the show popular mechanics for kids? They did an episode on this big guy it was awesome
He was built in 1988-1989
I saw him as a kid in the early 90s.
It was completed in 1987, toured the USHRA circuit 88,89,90. I used to know the original owner, I remember him telling me it had 1500 miles of electrical wiring in it. It was very well designed.
When I was 4, the only thing I remembered vividly at the monster truck exhibition was Robosaurus and Gravedigger
When u go back to work on Monday and someone asks how your weekend was and your like 'I saw a 40ft robot dinosaur eat an airplane.'
Also how did you get this tape was it yours or someone you know? Or did you purchase it from somewhere.
I've seen probably hundreds of videos of robosaurus and this is by far the coolsest one I've ever seen
