He has said couple of times in Greek media back in the rookie years that he wasn’t sure if they were going to resign him after the first contract, in case of an injury for example. He was literally afraid of the future. Never sure about what the next day will bring. He said he needs to get healthy to resign.
That was his rookie days. He was from the poor family and always worried about the next meal for himself and his family back home. He was not like Trae Young who bought a sport car for at least $100k on his 1st year of NBA then one day his sport car was full of popcorns.

Growing up in Milwaukee, you always have dreamt for this moment for giannis and the bucks to get a title. It still feels so unreal to me to process it and it might be a small deal to the rest of the world but it was a big deal for the city of Milwaukee, especially when we were so close of getting one from two years ago. Giannis will always be remembered for shutting up all the doubters and he will always be remembered as one of the best Milwaukee players to ever win one in the same team that took him in.
