Nick Yarris is the author of The Fear Of 13 and the star of the popular Netflix documentary The Fear Of 13. Nick spent 23 years on Death Row after being wrongly convicted of murder and now he shares his amazing story on The True Geordie Podcast. We cover so much of Nick's story that isn't included in the documentary so don't worry this isn't just a repeat of that story. Nick goes in depth on the struggle of being on death row telling of some very traumatic experiences and how he taught himself the skills to cope through them and the rest of his life. Nick tells us of the strain his struggle had on his family and how things were for him after prison, including the making of the Netflix documentary, The Fear Of 13.

I usually put the times of topics in the comments but I don't think that would do Nick justice, I hope you all watch this all the way through as Nick is a different breed to anyone else you will meet. I hope you enjoy his company as much as I did. #TheFearOf13

Stephen Howson FC can't compare geordie to joe rogan
Sea Level Werdum Geordie is miles better
I agree, Rogan will never be as good as Geordie. JK
Deven Solanki ok... how old are you, don't get me wrong i like both but joe has been doing this for years and he is very funny especially when you get alchohol and weed in there lol 😂

The guests get better and better, Geordie is on a roll with these podcasts.
One day he'll have Pardew on his podcast. :D
lassen se dis now that will be interesting
it's funny how a 2 hour podcast on the KZhead channel of someone you've never met with a guest from another country can change my life more than anything or anyone ever has
Vern Sam About 100 times in this podcast I had this thought ! Amazing man...
Vern Sam would say the same if rap never existed
Vern Sam wayy to true
Mate this is absolute class. Made me think differently about the world. Nick you're a legend
Andrey Castellanos well put
broke my heart man!
I was in tears when i first attempted to watch this, I stopped a few weeks back having a go again right now to finish off watching it and determined to do so, seriously things like this don't usually hit me that hard but yes, can honestly say I've never had the worst past two years of my life literally though just a freak as such fault of nature, just some part of the DNA which made me didn't copy over properly as such and I ended up with a relatively rare genetical disorder, if I'd not have got my large bowel removed categorically at some point I will have died of bowel cancer, it would have been inevitable, but I've decided to have an ileo pouch but the process of getting to this stage where it's starting to calm down has been the roughest time ever. I once a while back (something completely unrelated but probably caused by this putting off thinking about it by doing other things that were kicking me into the ground quite literally but I didnt care) I was competing in my own head from taking a whole load of sleeping pills actually thinking a few days after about if I threw myself in front of a car I might not be killed by doing that so I'd go into a toilet of a pub and take them all or whatever and to know I am gone. Was utterly the most horrible I've ever felt in my entire life.
@@jsmithmultimediatech hey bud keep your head up there's people out here that want to see you succeed and thrive dont let life get you down stand when it's the hardest and never give up ,great moves keep it up proud of you
@@jsmithmultimediatech hoping you have made life improvements these 3 years later.🙏🏻Also it’s not too late either. Good luck
I liked Lawrence a lot in this podcast almost stepped back slightly and just fully listened to his story contributed when needed to but otherwise just listened to the beautiful yet horrible story by this hero.
Richard Mills who's Lawrence?
Michael Cohen the guy on the right with brown hair
Completely agree with this and I like how the The True Geordie took the driving seat. Great interview of a truly great human being.
Robbie Cale i think he was being sarcastic (the person in the original comment mis-spelled Laurence's name).
Laurence very often does like to think of himself as the smartest person in the room. Like he should be the authority on every topic. But he seemed to get it in this podcast that he should let this man do the talking.
You know what Geordie ? Fair play to you, this podcast is the most dynamic podcast on the Internet. One week your having a laugh with a youtuber and the next week this. Well played man.
Alex Jennings Music joe rogans podcasts are next level but geordie is getting up there so fair play
18:20 "How do you draw stength from your own words when every one of them is shared" powerful words
You know what geordie, fair fucking play. You started off shouting at a camera with a drink in your hand and now you're entertaining hundreds of thousands of people with awesome content like this. Eye opening podcast. Thank you 🙏🏻
3 minutes into the vid and it's deep af. Respect to this man
What a man
Where's the part when he talks about selling Fifa coins?
Stephen Tries lad
Stephen Tries cheeky bugger
Stephen Tries to be funny... fails miserably
Stephen tries is funny 😂
Hey Stephen, at least you tried
The most intense, interesting & captivating two and bit hours you will find anywhere on KZhead. Great work Geordie & Loz.
no matter how good a podcast and how thought provoking this guy is, the comments section will still be the most utter childish shit imaginable with the occasional "get chrismd on"
matt n 🙌🏻🙌🏻
matt n True
matt n get chrismd on
matt n well, you're totally wrong.
Horse Man tbf they just saved it for willne.
As someone studying Law, I have heard far too many stories like this mans. So many innocent men and women have been executed, or on death row for most of their lives. The justice system is well and truly disgusting. Thanks Geordie for a great podcast, well done!
tom sully not just America
Michael Lally white people at the top that's y
Zonk Knuckle FTW don't oversimplify the issue like that
Zonk that's racist.
Paused the Podcast at the 10min mark, went and spent 1 hour and 35min watching 'The Fear of 13' documentary and continued the podcast, wow.. just wow. what this man had to go through to prove his innocence.
This podcast was truly incredible. That 2 hours and 15 minutes, that I laid in bed and watched this for was more than worth it. Alot of the time, I will go and watch videos on the internet to pass time. But this video was special, I was mesmerised by every word said in this video. Nick is truly an inspirational person in this world, even though he said in the podcast that he doesn't want us to look to him for inspiration. It has been a long time since I have found something that has captured me on that level, and kept me intrigued the entire time. Nick is a truly special person. Thankyou True Geordie and Lawrence for getting him on your podcast, and thankyou for Nick for taking 2 1/4 hours out of your time to speak to not only them, but everybody who watches this video. I strive to be the nicest, most respectful person I can possibly be, and it makes me feel good, and feel worth, and makes me a happier person. Nick is on another level, and I will strive and endeavour to become even nicer, more respectful...not only to others but more to myself aswell. Thankyou for this Nick Yarris, and also thankyou to The True Geordie and Lawrence as you said in the podcast you try your best to make people laugh through the videos you make on the internet, and that works also. Through making people laugh, you are spreading positivity and happiness. And thankyou to anybody who took time out to read this comment.

@@Jaikay1 fuck you, jag off
@@johnkelly2663 Where's your proof? How could you slander a man that's been through hell already? Be ashamed.
Hard to believe he isn't an actor with how good a story teller he is in the Fear of 13. Hopefully others won't go through the same injustices that he did.
Domwbafc its because hes telling a true story. he doesnt need to use his imagination.
Most people wouldn't keep you as engaged as he does that's all i'm saying.
Domwbafc yeah i get what you mean. I think it would be very easy to give up and just be bitter and twisted and hate everyone. But this guys not like that
@@rockforever96 On JRE podcast he said while he was in prison he read over 9000 books, maybe this made him to be good storyteller.
This guy is literally a billion times more interesting than the youtubers that have been on lately. Hearing this guy speak is like the purest, wisest lesson in life anyone can get. Absolutely amazing!
"a decade cold go past in the blink of an eye but man, getting through that day.."

That picture HAHAHAHAHHA
That was fucking gripping. This podcast paired with the fear of 13 documentary on Netflix was so insightful. Cheers lads
I'd give anything to speak to this man for even 5 minutes. Anyone who has ever met this man is blessed. I have the highest respect for this man.
I was heartbroken before I listened to this podcast but Nick gave so good advice that I felt better. Heroes do exist!
Respect to this guy for being so calm. I'd be filled with rage if this had happened to me
Jamess Filled with rage for over 30 years is a long time you know... eventually you'll accept it.
Thom Kegel I don't think anyone can really say what they'll feel without experiencing something like that. None of us will experience anything like that
Ben Sibley its just a opinion
Ben Sibley Of course I can't know for 100%, but judging by how calm he is talking about it I think he has accepted the fact that it happened
Wow! What a fucking podcast. This man is one of the most amazing people on the face of the earth
This is the pinnacle of the true Geordie podcast , the only podcast that could be better than this is if he comes back on a year from now.
This man is on another level. Be a nice man is genius advice. Simple and powerful advice.
Lol he said putlocker, class podcast guys
had a laugh lol
Heard his story before What a absolute hero
This changed my view on life and I want to try and be like this man. I want to be as kind as this man, he has made a really big impact on my life and I really respect him a lot.

Geordie and Lawrence, thank you so much so bringing an inspirational person on your show. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this podcast and listening to the tips he had about how he got himself through prison. He has aura around him of greatness he has achieved after all the pain an misery he experienced. Almost teared up watching this podcast.
When you see how down to earth he is and how up his own calfreezy is... more people like this please. amazing
I’ve never forgot his story from watching Fear of 13. I didn’t know he was on the podcast. What an amazing soul this man is

Truly inspirational, I'm finishing school in a few months and I will take this knowledge into my adult life and never forget it, thank you
I've watched this at least 3 times. Nick Yarris is an inspiration and displays great insight of how to conduct yourself in light of abuse. Thank you,

Been listening to your podcast for the last couple of days due to having difficulties sleeping - and this podcast was superb. What Nick Yarris had to say after all he experienced just shows how big of a man he is. Thank you True Geordie for your podcast, brilliant stuff!

Making movements lad
who came from JRE ?!
Me
Yasir Khalil yeah and EVERYONE there is saying he’s lying about a lot of the stuff he’s saying
I was talking to my friend about Shaun Attwood and he is a big fan of Joe. Then I heard Shaun mention Nick on his last podcast. I only noticed that the second time watching the pod cast (Shaun's second) that he mentions Nick. I was surprised to hear Shaun mention that Nick had been on true geordie.
Yasir Khalil You can say Joe Rogan. Its OK !!
@awesomeguynamedjon u good bruh?
I'm from the Philadelphia area and I am so humbled by this man. Thank you for bringing him in and sharing his story. Top class.
I can honestly say, I NEVER thought I would be so inspired from The True Geordie Podcast. I kinda want to thank you and say you have blown expectation out of the water with this podcast from now on!
Wow, this just took to a whole new level of class. Respect.
I'm 15 minutes in and this is just class 👏👏👏👏 nice change from the normal podcasts
22. This was a massive turning point. A serious interview with one of the most interesting guys you could possibly meet. I think nick had an unbelievable perspective on life considering what he had been through. It was truely inspiring how positive and intelligent he is.
This guy needs his own channel/podcast. The way he articulates feelings/situations, given the background is genuinely inspiring. It would reach a lot of people.
Best podcast I've ever listened to.
