NICK YARRIS : THE FEAR OF 13 | True Geordie Podcast #22

2017 ж. 1 Нау.
710 523 Рет қаралды

Nick Yarris is the author of The Fear Of 13 and the star of the popular Netflix documentary The Fear Of 13. Nick spent 23 years on Death Row after being wrongly convicted of murder and now he shares his amazing story on The True Geordie Podcast. We cover so much of Nick's story that isn't included in the documentary so don't worry this isn't just a repeat of that story. Nick goes in depth on the struggle of being on death row telling of some very traumatic experiences and how he taught himself the skills to cope through them and the rest of his life. Nick tells us of the strain his struggle had on his family and how things were for him after prison, including the making of the Netflix documentary, The Fear Of 13.

  • I usually put the times of topics in the comments but I don't think that would do Nick justice, I hope you all watch this all the way through as Nick is a different breed to anyone else you will meet. I hope you enjoy his company as much as I did. #TheFearOf13

    • I was in tears when i first attempted to watch this, I stopped a few weeks back having a go again right now to finish off watching it and determined to do so, seriously things like this don't usually hit me that hard but yes, can honestly say I've never had the worst past two years of my life literally though just a freak as such fault of nature, just some part of the DNA which made me didn't copy over properly as such and I ended up with a relatively rare genetical disorder, if I'd not have got my large bowel removed categorically at some point I will have died of bowel cancer, it would have been inevitable, but I've decided to have an ileo pouch but the process of getting to this stage where it's starting to calm down has been the roughest time ever. I once a while back (something completely unrelated but probably caused by this putting off thinking about it by doing other things that were kicking me into the ground quite literally but I didnt care) I was competing in my own head from taking a whole load of sleeping pills actually thinking a few days after about if I threw myself in front of a car I might not be killed by doing that so I'd go into a toilet of a pub and take them all or whatever and to know I am gone. Was utterly the most horrible I've ever felt in my entire life.

  • This podcast was truly incredible. That 2 hours and 15 minutes, that I laid in bed and watched this for was more than worth it. Alot of the time, I will go and watch videos on the internet to pass time. But this video was special, I was mesmerised by every word said in this video. Nick is truly an inspirational person in this world, even though he said in the podcast that he doesn't want us to look to him for inspiration. It has been a long time since I have found something that has captured me on that level, and kept me intrigued the entire time. Nick is a truly special person. Thankyou True Geordie and Lawrence for getting him on your podcast, and thankyou for Nick for taking 2 1/4 hours out of your time to speak to not only them, but everybody who watches this video. I strive to be the nicest, most respectful person I can possibly be, and it makes me feel good, and feel worth, and makes me a happier person. Nick is on another level, and I will strive and endeavour to become even nicer, more respectful...not only to others but more to myself aswell. Thankyou for this Nick Yarris, and also thankyou to The True Geordie and Lawrence as you said in the podcast you try your best to make people laugh through the videos you make on the internet, and that works also. Through making people laugh, you are spreading positivity and happiness. And thankyou to anybody who took time out to read this comment.
