This is the most amazing abandoned house I've personally explored! The journey in locating it deep in the woods was half the fun. This home has been empty since 1945.

I love doing research on stuff like this. So far here's what I found out. Ron Edwards is the grandson of Frank Edwards SR. The grandfather died on May 30, 2003. Given Ron's date on the wall was September of 2003 it may indicate that he grew up in the home. He wouldn't have built it as he was born Jan 30 of 1921. His father is a different story; William Edwards and his mother Eugenia Fowler Edwards. Reading the history for the area, the first settler arrived in 1800 and the land was mainly given as reward for being a soldier in the revolutionary war but some was also sold. The area was organized in 1811. This makes the home no earlier than 1811 in my opinion. As a side note Frank Edwards Jr. died August 3, 2015. If I find out more I'll post it but thought you'd be interested.
LissaSun Thank you very much, definitely keep me posted.
thank u for ur info! that's amazing! find anything else?
lissasun I'm pretty sure they said this house was in Ohio. If it is, then the info you gave does not match, because the family you mentioned didn't live in Ohio. See link. www.findagrave.com/memorial/106400694/frank-edwards
Well the whole history of the House should be at the County Court House or Local Library ,,, Tax Records , Deed and Title Transfers all Public record shouldn't be that hard unless a Fire burned down the places where all the records were kept which actually happened a lot more then one might think....
Excellent!
When I was a kid, going thru old places like this was a thrilling "hobby"...not everyone agreed, however - lol
It definitely has a thrilling factor to it. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!! Take care.
I've often thought it would be fun to try to restore an old house like this, provided it's basic bones were still good.
Gone, but not forgotten.
Pretty sure it's gane.
the house actually looks salvageable, it looks well built.
Someone sure "salvaged" the all fireplace mantles. LOL. Probably Ron Edwards in 2003.
Too cool! Thanks for the tour.
Sylvia Jones Your welcome! thank you for watching.
This was a very nice find. The wooden door frames are fantastic. 🙂👍✌
Love the video! I used to do exploration of old buildings and abandoned places near where I live in PA. I hope to get back into it! Sadly many places have been torn down or have fallen down. Such a shame to see old buildings in such decay, and the vandalism too. I miss exploring, but your video makes me feel like I was there! Great work and keep them coming!!
David McFadden thank you, I haven't been out much lately. I really need to, it's very enjoyable and fun to go look for these old houses frozen in time.
David McFadden
Thanks for sharing!!! Very cool ! Love your videos
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!!
AMAZING.....LOVE THIS STUFF
I love the transom above the doors that let air flow thru the house!
This house was built to last....very impressive!
I like how the former owners specifically chose to write the date they moved and who they were on their old house.
Thanks for making this video it must have taken a lot of work
Beautiful home!
I remember when we lived in one of these old house's my grandmother would put her quilting frame up, miss those day's!! great Video
Kathy Galloway Thank you for sharing and watching..
Very cool! This is one very cool very old house! Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I just have to say I subscribed to your channel because your videos are very interesting, and NO SWEARING!!! THANK YOU!!

Is the ghost at the end real?
@@jenniferherrington I didn't see any ghosts. Do you also believe in the tooth fairy? OMG!
At 22:10 That's a figment of one's imagination. All I see is the remnants of an old, worn out pillar. Look closely👀
Wow! What a find!!! Awesome video! Thanks!
ScoutCrafter thank you, thank you for watching.
Awesome!!
Thanks for taking the time to watch. I'm sure you're quite busy , so it means a lot to me. As always, be safe out there.
this was really good. enjoyed it. Well done!!!!!
+Rick Schulte Thank you.
+Hey Mom Look What I Found!!!! Please tell me, did you Photoshop that girl in the doorway of that one pic??
I would have loved to see this when it was first built. Love the size. ❤
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
Pretty cool ! I love abandoned houses . I think someone has broken the windows and knocked down the doors before you came .
There was very minimal damage to the house it self from vandalism. The windows and doors were removed and taken out of there many years ago. The water damage on the floors is a pretty good indicator they've been gone for some time. And there's no sign of the old frames , and no broken glass inside or outside. Thanks for watching
+Hey Mom Look What I Found!!!! I got it . Regardless of what happened that house is very cool to explore and film .
Great house. Love the wood work and door knobs. Great find guys.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@@Quincygrn You're welcome. Need to come to Tennessee.
One of these days, I've never been there before. I've heard it's a beautiful state.
It is. Lived in east Tennessee all my life. I know a few places you may be interested in.
Cool video. Thanks.
I love the shape of the house and the woodwork. It must have been a beauty in its day. I want a house like that, in the future (except not falling apart :D)
"Ron Edwards" probably wrote his own name there because he was there, not because he is being remembered by someone else.
Love that house! Beautiful woods! Wud be awesome to restore up!
I agree 100% . I've tried looking on the net to see who owns the property. But no luck. I'm going back down there next year and I'll stop at the local records office and see if I can find out through them. I'd love to buy it ,and restore it. thanks for watching
Love this Video of the House wish someone could save it. Thank you for not having any swearing or bad Langue I love your work! Please let us Know if you ever find out any more and who built the house for sure. You are very Profesional..
That's what I noticed also, doesn't seem to of had electric ever in there! Would of loved to see what the house looked like in its grand days! Gorgeous house even run down ! Such a shame, cause that house is history!
👀"GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN" ✅💯
Really enjoyed the video, thanks for uploading. I was thinking the same thing when you mentioned metal detecting the property, I would love to watch that video. You may be able to work out an agreement with the current owner. I admire the courage it takes to enter into the unknown where anything is possible. Very wise indeed to not do it alone. Be careful and thank you for documenting this, a few hundred years from now there will only be sandstone blocks in the woods.
Thankyou for sharing
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!!
Good video! Thanks.
Your welcome and thank you for watching and commenting.
That is awesome! I hope you are able to buy it and restore it. I know you don't want to take things but in this case, that beautiful woodwork should not be allowed to just decay. It should be restored to it's original beauty. Once it is gone, it's gone forever. Maybe if all else fails, you should rescue it. I was raised in an 1860s' house. My brother bought the farm and after several years was forced to tear down the old house but he rescued the beautiful old woodwork first and made the rest of us kids a beautiful plaque with some of the wood. They just don't build houses like that anymore. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks for keeping the language clean.
I definitely agree. I don't want to see this house waste away. Thanks for watching.
loved the basement doorknob
Great video. I really enjoyed it
Thank you!
Ha! Yeah, no problem buddy!
Thank you for your video and your interest in old "souls." Any history to these places you film.?So much wonder of the lives that lived here. Wish we knew more.
I to see the image of a lady in a long old dress at 22:09, wow. And yes no sign there was ever any electric in the house. Great Job!
very nicely decayed
Love the video. That chair you found is from approximately the late 00's to early 40's. I have a Vanity bench that has the same exact leg styling. Originally done in a dark walnut/mahogany color with the "bulb" part painted black. neat t see something similar to something I own.
dawn klug u
Beautiful with much potential. It is a sound foundation, It looks like the etching on the wood likes homemade.
what a beautiful house! it could easly be brought back to life
No it could not.
Roger Hoke my house is worse tbh
The floors look pretty dodgy.
Awesome video by the way, I enjoyed exploring it with you.
Thank you. I was referring to the writing on the walls about the vandalism. if I made it sound like the fire places I apologize. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Cool beans. =) Gonna check out more of yer videos. Love stuff like this!
Loved this. And appreciate the lack of 4 letter words!!!
Susan Porter Thank you for your support and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated!!!!
The house is in great shape considering it's been abandoned 70yrs! Wow, what a beautifully built home. It makes me sad that such a great structure was left to withstand history in solitude and neglect. The 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, 2010s, a whole lifetime and all the while it was a home to nobody. That's sadly amazing.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. It's probably going to be one of the most amazing abandoned houses that I will ever see. I've watched a lot of abandoned house videos on KZhead, and it truly is hard to come across a house that has so much mystery surrounding it. Hopefully I can shed a little light on it this summer.
Thanks for the video! I'm a curious soul and really appreciate you letting us explore along with you. Abandoned places are always so mysterious and melancholic. Love it. I'll be looking forward to the second video :)
Very nice find!!
thanks.
This reminded me of what we called as kids the old spook house in Alley Valley / Fort Blackimore,Va
Awsome vid
wow, never any electric or plumbing and great craftsmanship that house has stood the test of time.
can tell the still pictures at the end you added the ghostly figure at the door haha 😂 very clever you guys
This is, by far, the best abandoned house video I have seen. That house, even in its current state, is absolutely beautiful. Do you ever research the history of the abandoned houses you explore? I would love to know more about that house!
I plan on back down this spring and finding out all I can. thanks for watching.
im your 1000'ths subscriber
Awesome old house, I wonder why the left. Times were very hard back then. Thanks for sharing.
If I had to guess why they left, I'd say (based on the 1945 date) They raised a family there ,the kids moved away and ma and pa moved or passed away. Just a guess. Thanks for taking the time to watch.
You two are verv cool to still love stuff like this. Life is "nor" lol
Thanks, I have a hard time doing two things at once. Like filming and reading. lol. Thanks for watching
I thought it read that too!
that piece of equipment you found...we had one on the farm and used it to chop corn stalks and maize for feeding our hogs and goats. it has a bell housing on the side and so do some tractors and you can get a belt to go between the two and power it with a tractor
thanks for the information. Greatly appreciated. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing. I am disabled awaiting on the benefits and I have been watching what your sharing. I thank you for sharing and keeping my mind of off being broke all the time :)
+Donald Morris I'll keep you in my prayers brother. I hope things turn around for you!!! I'm glad to hear my videos offer a little bit of distraction. I stopped at another abandoned house this morning , but the doors were all locked up. still looking for my next one. cheers!
Wow, what a find..
luv the ending.... lol
this is pretty awesome!
Thanks man! And thank you for taking the time to watch.
the nicest video I seen in a long time
thank you
I'm very impressed by the fact that you respond to viewers' comments! I got hooked on abandoned buildings explorers' vids when I found those by TikiTrex. Like her you show so much respect for the building's history and for its former owners. . Thanks and I love your "name"!
Well thank you for taking the time to watch. I usually don't take items but a old mason jar lid by most is considered trash , for me it's treasure. I always appreciated when a KZheadr responded to my comments. So I make sure to try and respond to everyone. This should be an interactive experience in my opinion. Again, thanks for watching.
+Jan Filbeck People like you who whine about trolls are trolls yourself in my opinion.
Jan Filbeck Well aren't you an arrogant little bitch!
+FumariVI This is not the place for this conversation or language. I would appreciate if you 2 could take this else where.
Please accept my apologies. Original post has been edited, the other deleted!
Cool house! I bet if you dig in the cellar you will find lots of goodies. A friend's mom had a house that was built in 1800s with a portion of the cellar with a dirt floor. I don't know how we got started on it but we dug up part of that dirt floor and found all kinds of old bottles, tins, bones (from food - nothing creepy [darn]), bits of half rotted but very old papers/books, and the like. Found out from another friend's parent that people used to throw away their garbage in those dirt cellars, especially in the winters when they didn't want to go to the outside garbage heap. They just dug holes in the dirt floor and buried their trash. It turned out to be a treasure trove.
beautiful place
I like the ghost photoshop at the end. Nice touch. :-)
Great video
Catherine Schembre Thank you so much!!!
love Mary and the horse!
Incredible
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment! Always appreciated!
top shelf video tour-- how did they dig out those basements back then by hand ? wow ! it would be super cool if u guys had a drone to cruise over site to give an idea of its remote-ness.
hey ! I am from Spain! I like your video. congratulatution! is very cool
Marta Mendez Thank you!!
it was very beautiful at one time.
So cool! 😱
Thank you
I'm so jealous. I bet it must have been really fun.
+Brandon Varner yea, it was an awesome place to explore. Hoping to find a few more this year.
Got to find this would make a great flip house
That house is well built and built with care. I believe, if enough work was put into it it would be livable again. the woodwork is wonderful. The designs above the windows on the outside showed just how much care was put into building it. Its in pretty good shape for sitting for all those years. 1945.... long time!
+Vonda Ngigi You'd have to rip it down to studs, even then it would need some work.
the house is from the early 1910's . I attended a church whose building was of the same era with similar features to the walls and wood work
I was thinking 1880's.
I've done a lot of brush busting during my time in the Army.
on the way to see the house you said snakes and spiders, that's when I would have ran for the hills ! enjoyed the adventure from the comfort of my chair ,and I was glad of it,wish you would have let me see more of the only scrap of wallpaper in the house ,you can tell so much from people's taste that way.
This abandoned house is full with memories and stories
very cool find
Thanks for watching and commenting. I was very fortunate to be able to film this house.
Nice house
So much on this house is salvageable. The door and window frames, the brick and stone. Even the siding and the interior framing. Yes, I saw the ghost in the doorway at the end. It looks like a knock-kneed girl with a short skirt, so couldn't be as old as the house.
wow! what an amazing old house! the foundation and wood working unbelievable. I would love to see a picture of this house when it was first built. was you guys able to find a better way out of there? that house no doubt will be there in another 10 or so years from now .
I would have loved to seen it as well. Bit easier getting out. I really enjoyed looking for it. Thanks for watching.
No joke, that wood is worth a fortune. The shoe was a womans dress shoe from the late 1800's and early 1900's. It looks like the house was built a LONG time ago and then someone bought it and refurbished the entire interior.
Restire that place and make it a rehearsal loft for a band, could you imagine the acoustics!!
Imagine owning the house, and seeing this video... somehow. Think about how this was a home for a happy family, or maybe a few. Many holidays, birthdays, weddings, and events either hosted in or by owners of this house. People *lived* here... Lives were spent here, friends were made here. Now, someone is running through it with a camera. Filming the once private property of a group of friends, a family of people working together to get through life. Here we are..... My point is that it's insane how people spent lives here, and it's still here to be documented. A run-down time capsule, really. Fascinating.
No disrespect. If you feel this way then why did you watch it?
It's like "Ozymandias" "Look upon my works ye mighty and despair". All of human life comes down to a rotting old house in the woods really.
@@GailMarie1972 Exactly! This person has NO idea what happened at this house.
Cool old place.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting
No problem. :) You're welcome! :)
For being abandoned 75 years its held up really well
I'm a new subscriber of yours after seeing your Nova House video. I'm hooked! I love the way you present your explorations and how you describe what's in and around the houses. In fact I backed up the video a few times when you said to look at the big rock beside the road. 😀 When you said your friend's name and that he's a KZheadr, I didn't catch his name. Would you mind letting me know? Thanks from a new fan. 😁
Thank you for your kind words. it brings a smile to my face. Life as been very hectic lately for me and I will try to get out and make another video as soon as I can. Again, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
Lol, didn't see the second part. His name is Mountain Bouncer , be warned he cusses a lot.
+Hey Mom Look What I Found!!!! Thanks so much for your quick replies. I'll check out your friend's channel and no worries about his cussing. 😁
Thanks
Good video. I would think that Sept 1945 was shortly after WWII ended. So maybe they were ready to start over in a place not as remote. Craftsmanship was amazing.
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!!
Ron Edwards was the guy who visited in 2003, I believe (I'm no expert). Frank Edwards Sr. was the guy who they were mentioning with all the R.I.P. messages, so HE was the one who passed away, not Ron
+Brennan Williams i think frank and ron are family and ron came to visit franks house, who knows maybe ron may have lived there too...
Great Vid. That sure was a great house to Explore. I tried to read all the comments but I could not find anything regarding the picture on 22:21 . Whats going on with that?
Looks like it was architecturally stripped in the early 2000s for its antique fittings. The carved door frames could not have been taken as the top sections are acting as lentils, supporting upper floors.
All the beautiful woodwork.. It's a shame it's just going to fall down...
great video, very interesting. maybe the names on the walls are from the family of those who used to live there?.
is there any way you can find out some history of this amazing house...the work that was put into it leaves one gob smacked....great find
absolutely. thanks for watching and commenting
Gosh I love that door. That house could be restored . most of the wood is in great shape. But that foundation... Kept that house standing straight up. If nothing more, someone should clean it up and make a fort for grown ups .
Would definitely make a great get away. I'm going back in 2016. I'm sure there's things I've missed. thanks for watching.
who ever built it they were very well to do
Look like a old house use to be couple miles from me it had weather board siding but actuly the house underneath was hued out logs house was 2 story had 2 chimneys one on each end of the house had 4 fire places very old house
I would love to be able to shovel out the crap, and put in windows, paint, and restore a beauty like this. They are one of a kinders. What a fantastic thing to do to restore this place.
Fingers crossed. Going to try and find the owner next year and see if he wants to sell. You never know till you ask. thanks for watching
Would you be able to go to a local gov. Office and find records of the property? It would be interesting to find out who lived there. To me it looks like a family of means.
