  • I would like to see the new shop in 'before' mode, then a full tour of the finished project. Given the choice of engines: I would look into restoring the original one or at least finding one just like it.

  • fridays are complete when WD videos are loaded.... just a quick question: there are probably hundreds of detailing videos (on YT), but you guys are the top three for me, one thing ive notice ( and yes you guys are guilty of it too...lol), during the detailing process you mention how long the job took....be it 8hrs or 16 hrs, think the shortest being 4hrs, at what point do reach in the process where you say "i should take a break"?

    • I'm NOT a professional, but I detail my own car and I take about 5/6 hours! I do the interior, then I take a brake and then return for the "exterior job"

  • I know I'd love to see a full tour! I thought that was an interesting location for a detail shop in a parking garage. Did you have any difficulties logistically by doing that? And I'm interested to know if you got to customize the new shop at all. Really great to see your channel growing and absolutely loving the style and flair you put on your work and the videos!

  • My dad passed last year. Left me his '74 Corvette. The original engine had bad compression, so he did a similar year 350 4 bolt main block, 383 stroker setup, slightly higher compression pistons, a Edelbrock Performer Cam and Intake, then factory carb adjusted for displacement and cam change. Maybe only makes like 50+ more hp/tq but still fun. Just needs better rear mono lead setup.

  • If the engine miles arent bad, I am 90% sure I could get it to turn over. Often a car just sitting can cause it to seize up. The rings get stuck due to moisture. I've seen cars sitting for 30 years turn over after soaking down the cylinders for a day.

  • Yes to the shop tour. As for the engine, if it is less expensive to just drop in a new/rebuilt engine that fits rather than do a rebuild on the existing one that is the route that should be taken. As for a replacement, not smart enough about the subject to offer any suggestion. LOL Back in the day, had an friend who had a stingray and offered me a ride. You could tell he was proud of it, but it road like a dang lumber wagon over a rough road. I kept my mouth shut about it and complimented him on the car. Made me vow not to be so wowed by a two seat lumber wagon, This one is a bute considering the unusual color that shines like new dime. Great work and amazed at how well the paint job looked after you were done with it. Bravo....more, more!

  • want another old corvette? My grandpa has a c2 that's been sitting in his garage for probably 25 years and it's never going to drive again without a full rebuild but it would be fun to detail. We'd have to uncover it from all the boxes and carpets and other garage junk though 🤣

  • I think I've seen this video 3 or 4 times now (I watch many, so forget sometimes), but it is still good every time. No wonder part 1 (and the hoarder car) were your homerun video views; just good content. Question: do you wash the backs of the car mats? You never show it. I don't in my cars, but I imagine a grossmobile like the barn finds would warrant it (with rat pee and all that). I did like how you hung the mats so they drain as washed, but then saw the video with the old mat that ripped. I see you don't make the same mistake twice on these carpets; that's just you stepping up your game. Kudos. C3 is my fav vette. the shop has got to be done by now, eh? you should franchise.

    @jotighe2@jotighe2 Жыл бұрын
  • By the way an awesome video and as a Corvette owner I can tell you that C3 Corvettes carpets have a tendency to degrade over time to the point where it has to be changed that's why a lot of aftermarket companies sell replacement carpets!

  • I think a shop tour would be in order. :) As for the engine, it would probably break loose if you pulled the plugs and soaked the cylinders in a mix of Marvel Mystery Oil and WD-40 for a couple of day. The purists out there will hate this next comment, but I'd convert it to an Electric if it did need to have the engine swapped out.
