    • Yes! Bill Whitaker's lovely vibe in the Jennifer Lawrence interview was a noticeable plus! I really hate it when interviewers give off a judgmental "gotcha" vibe in celebrity interviews, and he had none of that. And I appreciated that he was so good humored about it when she literally leapt over him in pursuit of her self-portrait! LOL ; - D

  • After a horrendous 2022, shell-stunned financial backers have misfortunes to recover and a lot to consider, as an expansion report and a pile of different information did close to nothing to change assumptions that the Central bank would probably keep climbing intrest rates regardless of whether the economy dials back, And that implies more red ink for portfolios for the principal quarter of year 2023. How might I benefit from the ongoing unstable market, I'm currently at a junction choosing if to exchange my $250k security/stock portfolio

They are too busy making “Popcorn movies” and “Superhero movies” because it’s all about $$$$$ and selling toys and action figures. It’s a travesty. Meryl, Ellen Burstyn, Hellen Mirren, Cate Blanchette, Julianne Moore, and Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet are the finest actresses we have left. They need to join forces with talented directors and producers and make real, hard hitting, raw movies like “Request iem for a dream” “Sophie’s Choice” “The Reader” “Little Children” “Notes on a Scandal” “Mare of Eastown (show) “Sharp Objects”(show$ Monsters Ball” etc etc etc. enough with “Mamma Mia” And all this light popcorn fluff give me real and raw performances and real and raw films/limited series

  • Meryl is an American treasure. She never fails to deliver. She was absolutely right on when she spoke of the narrow vision of today's action blockbusters. A perfect example of this is a comment from a friend of my son's after seeing the film Oppenheimer. She complained of it being boring with "too much dialogue."

    @cleoxo2566@cleoxo25666 ай бұрын
    • Boomers do not care for Mills and Zooms without provocation, LOL. To even be allowed to enter a theatre showing a film about a 1950 melodrama, Oppenheimer, is wrong, for anybody involved. Don't they have an IQ requirement for films? To get drift of yet again another pronouncement of diminished capabilities....just takes your meth away. This comment about "too much" from someone with "very little" reminds me of a quote from that horse commenting on Club El Morocco

      @JackMason-oq8lf@JackMason-oq8lf5 ай бұрын
    • although I mainly agree, Oppenheimer although it may appear boring to some, in a sense it was necessary to be done so, for one because it is important history to be aware of, and two, it had enough free space and silence to instill some dread into your soul of the gravity of what is transpiring, at least that's how I felt it. It wasn't in any way revolutionary, but it has artistic value and a place to give back some awareness to the populous. And who hasn't at least taken away that from it, needs to re watch later in life with a more mature perspective.

    • What's up Doc. In today's climate it's difficult to ignore that educators can't teach these new dogs old tricks. They have such distain for anything that happened the day before they were born. That includes Plato. "Lecturing" Mills or Zooms is like teaching tired lights; they aren't the brightest bulbs in town. On the flip side of the street, as a student, no educator tried to inspire me to come in or find a seat or sit down. I had to do that all on my own. My education began the day I left school.

    • You know. I was going to say something about Jennifer leaving school. I was going to say privileged White Girl and all the politicial views many would have on her success. But, I listened to her. Her Parents sacraficed a lot for her. Yes. But, what was important for me to hear was. How much she wanted it. The same thing happened to me. I was passionate about something. A little different than her life how it turned out But, it worked out how it was supposed too. School can get in your way if you know what you want in life. She can always do that if she wants. She's still young. Plus she has the funds to do some sort of academic education if she wishes. Most educated people are stupid and limit themselves. Being a millionaire doesn't make you smart. It's your love for humanity that makes you a genius. Plus a little risk taking is not bad as well. Self edification and a lustre of her life. It can move mountains. I'm happy for her. I own one movie that she acted in. I thought she was brilliant. I haven't watch that movie which blew her up yet. I will watch it eventually.
