That TBF Avenger (the plane) crashing honestly breaks my heart, I don’t even know if they’ll be able to repair it.
All things considered, the pilot did an amazing job of landing it without hurting anyone and minimizing damage to the plane. It'll most certainly be repaired, though will require complete disassembly to get all the sand & salt water out of it.

Honestly, that was actually a good idea on the pilot's side, and a success. He got the plane down safely, intact with minor easily repairable damage, no injuries to anyone other than what he might have gotten during the water landing, and the plane was easily recovered.

The plane was all right other than a bent propeller and a little water damage. It was recovered and restored. That happened at the beach across from Patrick AFB in Florida.
That's I was thinking. So few of those left.

@NAHH right, but it’s not about being smart. It’s what I see. Perhaps, it I didn’t know what pain is, I would find it funny. Funny seems to be a trained (and thus mechanical) concept, people train themselves hard to be able to feel this funny thing, because it’s “cool”. There are of course genuinely funny things. I probably saw that difference watching this video.
Or you can be smart enough to know that two truths can co-exist. Example: If I step on dogsht I'm unlucky. If people see it as funny then it's funny. "It's funny how I unluckily step on dogsht." How about a math example: 8+2=10,so does 5+5,6+4,7+3,9+1 See that. Just let other be...

@Sara Tavington Depends on the circumstances. If he's traveling at a ridiculous speed, low to the ground so he is obscure by parked cars (like OP suggested) then the response time required to avoid the accident may well be beyond what can be reasonably expected of the average driver. In any case, deciding who is at fault without knowing the circumstances (beyond what OP said) is futile. You may as well say 'all drivers are always at fault for everything'.
