Mum Launches Campaign To Treat Her Son's Tumours | BORN DIFFERENT

The family have set up a GoFundMe to help with Amare’s ongoing treatment, details of the page can be found here - www.gofundme.com/f/1oj1rds26o
AMARE Stover, 13 from Decatur, Alabama was born with a rare condition called neurofibromatosis type 1. The condition causes Amare to have huge tumours on his face which have severely affected his vision and breathing. Due to his tumours, Amare has no vision in his left eye and limited vision in his right eye. He’s been through a lot at such a young age and has sadly experienced some bullying because of his different appearance. Kandice, Amare’s mother, took him to the park one day where he was cruelly called a ‘monster’ by some local kids and he never went back to that park again. Amare is really close with his cousins and the three of them like to get outside and play in the park together whenever they can. Born Different followed the three of them on one of their visits to a nearby park to hang out and play a little bit of football.

One day maybe but there is also a chance medical tech might never be capable of it. I think quality of life is the best bet to focus on.

I cannot imagine how uncomfortable and heavy those tumours must feel on his face. I really hope he and his family work through this and he is able to do things the best he can like other kids can because it's his right to enjoy his life like anyone else.

    • @@greenkitty82 , it's just heartbreaking that anyone would say anything hurtful or negative about this sweet child. He's a child with a set of unique challenges yet there he is, a child like any other, playing and living and moving forward through it. I bet he's got a big heart and will have more compassion and fortitude than most due to his experiences. I hope he continues to have that support at home to guide him through a great life. I'm certain any adult with something to say would crumble if faced with what he must have to go through at times. He's beautiful and perfect. The people who say awful things about him are the true monsters.

    • @@kamiw5864 I know. You have a really kind heart.♥️ And the reason people say horrible things is because firstly they judge on appearance and if it's something they don't like or are frightened by it they will be mean as a defense mechanism and also because they are so consumed by that, they don't see the beauty of the person underneath. It saddened me so that he finds it hard to play with other children because of his tumours and how isolating and mentally challenging that must be for him (and anyone with a physical difference) so my heart goes out to him. To me, kindness and having a caring heart is the most wonderful gift in the world and if you have that, our appearances shouldn't be the most important thing because you can be appearance perfect but have a monstrous heart. I really hope he and his family work through this and he has a fulfilling life he deserves. ♥️

However, I don't know what can be done, he's a kid for starters so that would probably make doctors uncomfortable to perform surgery on him, the tumors seem to be a part of his nervous system, they may just come back, and I'd imagine the face is a pretty sketchy place to do surgery without the patient being at risk. Edit: By taking a initiative I mean, such as making a gofundme page for the kid or something.

    • @Anonymous sorry you feel that way. Prayer does a lot more than you think . God hears the cries of the broken heart and gives us the strength to keep fighting when others say there is no hope. If you don't have a relationship with God or don't believe in him, it won't mean much. I thank God this child is trying to live and goes out into the world to say hey. I'm different, but I'm still here. I hear the mean ugly things some people say. I hear the laughter, the grip of my mother's hand, to help me stand tall. I can't see the world as easily as others, but I can feel it in my spirit when others stare. The most horrible part is when I hear my mother cry. Only the powers in heaven can comfort her. God is the reason that my mother and I can keep hanging on. I'm so glad my mother believes in him and doesn't mind praying. He just answers and doesn't judge anyone. Even those who think he's not real. I think about this child all the time, wondering how he's doing and Believing these two are not only heroes but also a living testimony that life may be hard, but YES, YOU CAN MAKE IT. 🛐♥️🙏🏾😮‍💨🤲🏾 BLESSINGS ON BLESSINGS TO THIS FAMILY, AND THE DOCTORS WHO ARE USING THEIR SKILLS TO MAKE LIFE EASIER.
