Great fight! No doubt Saenchai is one of the best ever but this guy did a number on him. Saenchai didn't look at his best probably because Petch stayed in his face. His jab kept Saenchai on the back foot, then he crushed with those knee and elbow combos. I think Saenchai was overwhelmed. No time to get together a game plan against the reach advantage. Maybe should have chopped a bit more at Petchs front leg to slow him down. Still easy for me to sit here and say that.
Natez yea i think chopping the lead leg and trying to hand fight more and smother the hands wouldve helped him with the jab maybe but like you said definatly easier said then done its hard to overcome such a huge reach advantage especially someone with a solid jab

He’s the absolute Muay Thai goat but petcgmorakott is a phenomenal fighter - the only fighters that have ever given saenchai this type of trouble have been other Thais with only a few exceptions
@@blacktootherson yeah never seen Saenchai being bullied this way - Petch used his long hands to tangle up Saenchai s hands, then repeatedly score with knees and not giving him room for any fancy tricks and footwork. Petch also had the youthful endurance to push the pace and overwhelm a tired Saenchai with effective combos. That s the blueprint to beat the GOAT. And im glad Saenchai didnt lose to just a nobody - Petch a beast in One FC now

This guy's offense is similar to a Tornado. In my opinion, this is one of the best ways to beat Saenchai. This is the way the boxer Aaron Pryor used to fight. Straight forward & non stop action. Saenchai wasn't expecting this & he had no idea he was fighting the Tornado 🌪️ fighter.
This is the first time ive seen Saenchai lose. Nothing wrong with that, you win some u lose some u know?? But mad respect for the other guy for not being intimidated by Saenchai, he really brought it to him.
Everyone looses =) Petchmorrakot did just he right thing. He is bigger than Saenchai and has a higher reach. Though fighting on reach would be a bad decision, a Saenchai would compensate his lower reach with flying knees and movement I think. So a lot of clinching and working the Saenchais body with his knees was the best he could do and he won =) One of my favorit matche-ups I have seen so far. But just like everybody else I want to see fights between Saenchai, Buakaw and Yods :P As far as I know there is no match-up at all between any of these 3
SidMachinery Buakaw is old now but i think nobody from these raja fighters can beat him. The most dont fight very well with their hands and buakaw is a monster full of power look at his body! And yod before but not now, i living a long time in pattaya and he is very lasy never train.
If you reallyt know the sport of Muay Thai Petchmorrakot is a legend in his own right too.

This is the first time I've seen Saenchai in trouble. That dude just kept coming forward & forward that was crazy. Dude had a dominant reach advantage.

Saenchai retired that same year from the elite thai circuit. Being 31/32 in a sport where most retire at 24/26, he had an incredibly long reign. Sadly, you just can’t keep up with on that level when people have 10 year advantage over you especially on reaction and reflex timings. Saenchai also has always had problems with taller clinchers (Namsaknoi catchweight fight is a great example. Nam started with striking then switched to clinch when he was getting out pointed, and won).
Same thing against Petchboonchu, tall clinchers are a nightmare to fight

What're you sayin he was 34 at this fight, 2 pounds lighter. Petchmorrakot was heavier, younger and taller (1m80 vs 1m66).

This style has always been the bane of Saenchai. Taller, rangier clinch fighters that smother him and limit his opportunities to get off his usual attacks. Still one of the greatest, though.

Seanchai is my favorite fighter, but what I've noticed is the secret to beating him is keeping some (any) part of your body connected to his. Not just marching forward but actually maintaining contact of some kind.
yea it really seemed like Petch keeping him in the clinch and scoring with the knees was what won him the fight. With his height, he was able to get around Saenchai's knee guard like it wasn't even there.

there are two possibility, first he didnt scare of saenchai weapon, second is that he didnt react in time which i think it the second one haha

Baukaw, Saen Chai are great fighters. But when their opponent just keep coming, fearless and in a variety mode... it's a game changer.

I think Petchmorrakot is similar to Dieselnoi. Saenchai doesn't like to be pressured, and he doesn't like taller opponents going forward and throwing killer knees and long punches as well. He knows that he can't land his punches easily, because he has low reach, and he also knows that his flow of kicks will be affected by the long reach of Petchmorrakot's arms and legs. If Petch kicks, he will hit Saenchai, but if Saenchai kicks, he will likely miss. I think that going forward and kicking being a tall person, raising your knees just in case, is a great weapon, very difficult to miss. He is the perfect opponent to put Saenchai in a bind.

Highly technical fight, out of respect to each other’s high level skills & experiences. But yes, wide differences in height & reach had made the fight obviously more challanging for Saenchai.. Kudos for both fighters..

When reach advantage truly became a big factor. I think he knew Saenchai was an up close and personal fighter.
he beat him close up, in clinches and with elbows, not a distance, basically he fucked him up.
2 smart fighters... both calculating the whole time, trying to outsmart each other is what i see here.
This is the 3rd fight where Saenchai is bested by a teenager. Something about the clinch elbows and leg kicks. 2 times were in Yakkao The 3 x 3 limited clinch format of Thai Fight were almost custom made for him. Very sad to see that he signed with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. His incredible legacy, fight win streak and never being knocked down by a punch since he was 15 - I hate to see him handicapped to only the use of his left hand for weapons. They suckered Buakaw too. BKFC gets the notariety of having them fight for them. And again if their own stable of fighters get to beat 2 Thai legends, that are the furthest thing from conventional boxers

Saenchai often fights bigger guys and makes short work of them. I think this Petch is a Lumpinee champ for a good reason.
Crowd's digging it and they surely want Petch to win. Muay thai judges can put boxing judges to same when it comes to scoring and judging.

I don't dispute Seanchai's brilliance as a fighter. Yes, he was the greatest ever. But I also always want to see showboats taken down a notch. Probably the only time we'll ever see this, & it was 9 years ago by this point. But watching him lose--especially in his prime--was great fun.
