I’ve listened to this song close to 50 times and still get chills.
Same
Same man this song is addicted
Same😮💨
Now I regret not learning French in Canada
SAME HERE 😢😂😢😂😢😂😢😂😢😂
Long story short, he's singing about gettin on his bike and riding away from the troubles of the world with a join lt between his teeth, not caribg about the cinsequences that his freedom may cost. Becane is French slang for motorbike. Pretty much all his music is well put together, well arranged and well executed. You should react to "Call of Vahalla." Subscribed.
❤
* Verse1: Bitch it has been a very very long time that i think about it but i didn't have your thrive. Never pay attention about gossip, those bigmouths never saw the world through your eyes. I try to speak with them in their language in vain, they only understand the language of violence. I stripe on my body armour, you didn't see me flinch when i had to pass the slow circuit ( with his bike). Sankara, Cheikh Anta, N****r, i have chosen my rolemodels, reliable like german engins. Independent, no gold, no teeth. I share more, then the elders of your elders. I don't look at them, they are not concentrated. I am not waiting for the pass , they cannot center. I am Bantu, don't talk to me in Basané. We didn't came here to swag around. Get away with your coke, i got my family. Bridge: I pull on the handgrip, i offend the time. I am cruising like someone is waiting for me. I lock this Johnny between my teeth. Chorus: 2x I am taking out the Becane (motorbike) I smoke weed. I don't give a fuck if it's dangerous. I only see metal bars , the Becane is yelling and i escape hell. Verse 2: Acra (african dish) helps to concentrate. The hate that i have in my thoughts. In this predefined game. Bridge 2x I am taking out the Becane, cane, ouuuhh 2x Becane , i am smoking weed. Chorus: 2x I am taking out the Becane (motorbike) I smoke weed. Oh yes, oh yes.*
Je pensais que bécane étais un pistol He's pulling out the stick
@@50shadesofgandalf92 peut etre dans un autre sens ,mais dans sa chanson c est une moto frere

I don’t speak French but I’ve had this on repeat for like a month. It’s as if he uses his voice as an instrument. This song has so much layers and depth. It’s like a roller coaster ride. He is a true artist. This is real music. He starts off rap/singing high pitch, then normal rap then singing deep then using his voice to make sounds that amplify the beat then singing high and repeats it all. Absolutely impressive
Sa voix est comme une mélodie dans presque toute la musique, c'est bien meilleur que touts les autres rap francais ❤
Exact petit.
Exact petit.
Ong it's crazy
Yamê is French-Cameroonian born in 1995 in Paris. He writes his lyrics and score. He plays several musical instruments but he chose the piano. ❤❤❤
Bro you tha goat. Period. You perfectly understood the style of Yamê when you talked about « Ne me quitte pas » from Jacques Brel. He said in interview that he grew up with french variety because of his mother. So this is a part of who he really is. Respect from a french guy bro
Man I’m from Paris, Yame is a great artist and this guy just analyzed pefectly Bécane without even understanding the lyrics. And Mr L Boyd coming out with the French music culture is insane
this should be in the next James Bond movie. this song is powerful
It's about smoking weed while riding motorbike xD not sure it'll fit haha
I didn't know this channel, it's one of the only English-speaking reactions that is pleasant to watch as a French speaker. We feel a real respect for art. Thanks for that
Yeah, dude is a lifelong pianist and jazz musician, who just so happened to get into rap music. So of course all of his music is organic.
As someone that took french classes and absolutely love the tongue of it, how he enunciates his words is beautiful, French is gorgeous as is but his voice adds the right emotion and swag to it
Music is a universal language, this song is really touched my soul
Glad everyone is enjoying this like i did when I first heard it 😄
I knew I wasn’t tripping I listened over and over
One day during an interview he said that he wants his musics to be able to played by real musicians not just electronic so yeah, that's why it's soo good 😊😊
It's as if *Skread, Al Jarreau, Pomme, Jacques Brel, and Matthew Bellamy* had met the *Dave Brubeck Quartet* and had merged into one body to give birth to *YAMÊ.*
here are the lyrics translated the best i could. PS: it's about him as an up incomming artist with many slick play-on-words about his motorcycle(bécane) X lyrics : [verse 1:] - Bitch, I've been thinking about how to get well for a long, long time, I don't have your momemtum (by momemtum he means a label's tramplun) Never listen to the "they said", those who gossip have not seen life through your world I may speak in their language but apparently they only hear the language of violence I sneak into a ball without my hands, you haven't seen me stutter when I had to do the « Slow » (he drive the motorcycle so well, he can sneak anywhere without hands) (the "slow" is a motorcycle test to obtain the said license, meanning he can handles difficult tests of fame and music) - Sankara, Cheikh Anta, nigga, I chose my models, it's reliable like a German engine (by "nigga" he means black cultures and check who Sankara and Cheikh Anta are + another play with motorcycle with the motor engine) - As independent artist, without carats, without chico, yes I bite much more than the greats of your greats ("carats" and "chico" = "jewelries" and "teeth") I don't see them, they're not focused, I'm not waiting for the pass, they can't cross(football ref) I'm Bantu(one of many african ethniticy), don't talk to me about basané, we didn't come here to showoff (don't call him basené(darker skin) but simply black which white french people have difficulties to do lol) [pre-chorus:] keep your your cocaine, I have my cc (cc is basically related to the speed of his motorcyle so doesn't need drug, he has the freedom of his motorcycle) I turn the handle, I crush time I ride as if someone was waiting for me I put the blunt (or motorcycle exhaust pipe) between my teeth, m'bah ouai, m'bah ouai ("m'bah ouai" is his gimic and basically means "that's how it is [chorus:12x I take out the bike, di-di-da-da, I smoke weed I don't give a damn if it's mad dangerous I only see bars, iron bars The bike screams and I come out of hell on a big iron, m'bah ouai (hell is the quotidien that he escape with his motorcycle) [bridge:] - Akra helps to focus (Akrapovic is a famous manufacturer of motorcycle exhaust lines that focus on high speed so the speed helps him to focus) [bridge:] - Akra helps to focus (Akrapovic is a famous manufacturer of motorcycle exhaust lines that focus on high speed so the speed helps him to focus) - The hatred that I feel in my thoughts, hum The hatred that I feel in my thoughts, hum In this marketed/rigged business, oh yeah In this marketed/rigged business, oh yeah [and then crazy vocal notes] [chorus:]2x
So the song is an ode to the freedom and escapism of being on a bike???? That's awesome! Music man!

this should be pinned.
A new feeling has been unlocked ❤
He plays piano and has an absolutely beautiful live version doing, well, that. I would totally listen to thisnwhike riding a motorcycle at night. He captured a mood and a vibe.
"i cant wait to listen to this very loudly" lmao well said
It's all about vibes. When I was kid I listened 2Pac and Biggie and didn't even understood a word but I felt a vibes. This is same. Doesn't matter if you don't understand what he sing about you can feel his vibes.
as a afro american that made me smile, i feel the same about foreign music
This has got to be the best-produced song I've listened to with vocals. The beat itself is its own song. It keeps moving.
I just found out about this dude yesterday, and he's amazing. Check out his song, "Bahwai." So, so good.
Go listen to call of Valhalla

Boss u truly feel what music is , even the language barrier, without knowing, he just made you FEEL THE MUSIC and that's what matters in music what can you feel when you're listening to it.... U amazing boss new Frnch sub
You've understood perfectly when you talk about Jacques Brel in '' Ne me quittes pas''as french woman I felt the same as you.
Réel
I'm a french hip hop head but you're right french artists (but not only)can speak to your soul, like you said Jacques Brel, Michel Berger, Daniel Balavoine, Francis Cabrel and many many many many names
👍
i cant stop playing it like omg its french but it got a r&b feel
I heard this song few months ago and im OBSESSED .... I transcribed it soloed over it and I can't get enough its truly a masterpiece
I found this song close to a week ago. I've had it on repeat for a while.
French music is unbelievable!! It sounds awwwesome!❤
Never heard nothing like that! Straight fire!
I love that in the beginning verse you’re listening critically and giving longer form responses, and once the chorus hits it’s like, “yeah ok! This is crazy.” 😂 that’s what this song does. Draws you in and makes you want to listen more
Just discovered him this morning…and I am addicted. He is unique, as you said.
Hi, i'm french guy who passed by. Glad you like the song, I'm a big fan of Yame and pandrezz (the guy who composes the instrumental) since the beggining and I'm so happy to see their music breaking borders. And in fact Jaques Brel was Belgian not French ;) Nice react tho !
he’s got my heart at attention! can’t get enough of him from the 1st time - i think the whole world feels the same way! i hope he rises to stardom
I'm so glad I could watch the full video just earlier I've watched a short on Facebook and I got to say I'm not disappointed
" I think we can listen to this again loudly" I felt that from my soul lmao
I’ve listened to this song over a thousand times and still get the same feeling dudes genius check out his other music he 🔥
this chorus has to be one of the catchiest fucking choruses in a MINUTE. so good.
Felt the same feeling almost cried man goshhh this guy is unbelievable
My friend I had to subscribe to your channel, I discovered yamê a few days ago and after listening several times, I looked for some reactions and you are certainly a person who understands music and your comments are surgical, I am a Brazilian who lives in Europe congratulations on your excellent work
The music video for this song is awesome. The song is about escaping his hard knock life (langage de violence) by lighting up a joint (le pétard) and hopping on his motorcycle (bécane).
music is amazing, I dont understand a single word, yet I cant stop listening to this guy fr
I just found him, please go down the rabbit hole, i recommend you do Call of Valhalla next its amazing
that being said he's going to be a mega star
You ever just hear something and it just pulls you in? I heard the french and was intrigued, but his sound and this beat are something else. This is dope. He took that old timey post ww2 french jazz singer vibe and rhythm and updated it. This shit is something else. I'll be the only dude in my area that will have this shit blaring out the whip. Maybe one of the few that actually understands a bit of it.
This is why the most calm relaxing rap song or soul rap
everyone of his song are just bangers after bangers, no autotune or anything he his a true artist
Basically he s talking about escaping darkness of reality with a big blunt between his teeth on a big motorcycle and cruising away despite the risks it takes .
I stumbled upon this masterpiece on IG about a month ago. It was just a small clip but it was so captivating, I had to go find it on YT. I don’t know what this man is even saying but I know for a fact that he means every word! Music is universal! This is just beautiful
Beautiful song and amazing reaction, literally you were going through the emotions like i was.
This is vocally perfect!
Now thats music... When it speaks to your soul
BRO I JUST CAME BACK FROM A CAMPING TRIP WITH NO WIFI WHAT IS THIS MASTERPIECCEEEE
I have been searching for this song since I heard a snippet of it in passing someone. A snippet was enough, to someone in love with music, to know the incredible emotion poured in to a vocal display of art. This song is easily the most exquisite exhibition of vocal talent where feelings are so seamlessly transferred from one human being to another...without understanding the actual words. A masterpiece vocally with sound instrumental integrity. A recording of harmony.
never seen anyone sing about weed with such a sincerity
COLORS is where alot of ppl got introduced got first introduced to JID and a similar artist on the American Side Johnny Venus ( from Earthgang). Also this song emotionally reminds me of "La Boheme"
I went thru the rest of his music and its all just like this made a playlist of just his music by itself
The song is about him being free riding his motorcycle. The way he sings is mimicking the sound of a bike going away from you.
I dont even speak French but you can feel this, it's everyone's pain.
My god what a B E A U T I F U L voice, Simply 🙌
Reading the lyrics reminded me what's rap about. All the gangsta aggressive spits become powerless compared to the reality described in this lyric and by his voice.
Im glad you see that emotion, the most powerful music is conveyed through emotion.
I love how your reactions arent just you listening to music but you actually give thoughtfull insight!
Goosebumps at the end sick great reaction
Such a good song, art.
Dude in itself is a masterpiece!❤
Yamê is amazing please listen to call of valhalla or bahwai next
Call of Valhalla is a banger
Yamè kickn azz^^one of a kind!♥️
Yamê IS brilliant! I am a fluent French speaker. Yamê's lyrics are beautiful even with slang in them. :) Je sors (j'sors la bécane /be'kan/. Bécane is a motorbike. I take my bike... etc.
Amazing talent! He is Great artiste. This is different.. ❤🎉🎉
Music truly transcends languages
I really love your analysis how you read into things. It’s very much how I consume content, I appreciate what you put out.

What a beautiful song and reaction, love everything about this!
don't speak French but man is fire. I'm changing my language. song sounds so emotional and important.
Also the music production or musicality is on the level
I got no World to describe this marvels
He was talking about the thing the person could only hear is violence and he was taking his bike out and smoking his weed and how he didn't care. The video is fire and the flow is fire. The song is fire and it's a breath of fresh air with a tight beat over a smooth melody.

Finally I can comment this! THANK YOU for taking the 20 seconds to google the lyrics and also care about them and not "just" on the singing. The other reactors could not manage haha love the vid
