Excellent! Thank you so much. It is rare to see such a clear enjoyable tutorial, with not a word too much nor a word too little!
Thank you so much. This video was so clear and precise. Love my new lampshade!!
I have just made this light shade and it worked beautifully, the instructions are clear and very helpful. I'm very happy with the result.
Very precise and clear tutorial, many thanks!
Best tutorial I have seen so far. Your little tips are also very good. I hand painted a lampshade years ago. Bought a load of kits to make more and forgot how to do it! Thank you for sharing.
Perfect tutorial. Thank you!
Genius!!! Thank you so much - really helpful has given me the confidence to have a go
You’re delightful. I won’t likely make a fabric lampshade but loved watching your video
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have 2 lamps that I love whose shades need to be replaced. I have spent so much time sourcing out new shades & to have them made would have cost me $100 per shade. Now I know I can make my own shades and do it affordably. Thank you again!!!!!
Thanks! I followed the steps in this video to make replacement shades for a pair of floor lamps. Very clear instructions!
Excellent, with accurate measurements, very clear demonstration. Thank you 🙏.
Brilliant tutorial. Extremely well explained. Thank you.
This is the best video; glad I found it. Thank you very, very much for posting it.
Thank you so much. Very informative video. You all are making utube a so great place for learning.
You do a great job of that - I know all the variables that can go wrong in this.
I followed this tutorial for my first attempt at lampshade making. Really useful. The kit only provides just enough double sided tape so I ran out by folding over edge so have some extra handy before you start.
Everything is perfectly explained!
Very informative, clear instructions, i learnt a lot, thank you.
what an amazing how to video ! .. and your voice is incredibly soothing...it takes away anxiety as one follows along doing the steps... it makes someone feel like it is no biggie... just do this...and there ! you have a lampshade to be proud of !! Thank you for sharing your talent.... it was perfect !
Very clear tutorial and exactly what I was looking for. My partner mailed a lampshade that was marked "Storage Only" and the postal service used it for a soccer ball. The liner is cracked in several places and needs to be replaced. I thought I'd take the opportunity to make the shade an inch wider and to change the fabric to a rough silk. I feel confident that I can follow this video and make the new shade myself.
Such a simple process yet really effective. Can save you a fortune 👍👍👍
Really well made video - very clear guidance, no wasted words, and it's really helpful that you show examples of what can go wrong. Many thanks.
Completely agree...no theatrics...just a great instructional video. Thank you !
Brilliant1 - clear, straightforward - beautifully done - Thank you x Great to be able to see common errors too.
I’ve watched a lot of these and this is by far the most helpful 🤩
Perfect tutorial . Thanks a lot.
Very nice indeed. Thank you so much for the tutorial.
Such a good tutorial, thank you.
This is an excellent video: clear instructions and handy tips. Thank you.
Best tutorial I have seen so far! So well done and explained! Thank you so much.
Great video and really great instructions. You might be able to become a millionaire giving others instructions on exactly how to present instructions. Necessary info, speed of presentation, speech, examples, just everything about this video was very professional and no unnecessary jibber jabber that I usually roll my eyes to because I’m unable to remove the extremely unnecessary content. I really, really am impressed with everything about this video. Thank you very much for a huge ray of sunshine in a sea of mostly substandard instructional videos.
Thank you so much, you're a great instructor!
wow thanks this is brilliant!
This is a great tutorial, really clear and the tip about cutting extra fabric to cover raw edge and overlapping rolled edge is invaluable. Thank you! Do you have any tips for making large drums that need a fabric join?
Thank you for the informative video! It is very helpful.

Brilliant Tutorial. Thanks
Thank you for a great tutorial. I have made three drum shades of 20cm, 45cm and 20cm. Carefully following your instructions. They have all been very successful and I am hooked on making them. Finding fabric wide enough for the 45cm was tricky. I wonder where you got your metal, metre sized rule from?
Excellent. Thank you very much.
Excelente! De longe o melhor vídeo sobre o assunto em toda internet!!! [Brazil]
I have been making all these mistakes so thank you for this it's really helpful

Muy bien explicado 👏👏👏👏
Hi, Mam, it's really wonderful and pretty attractive the beautiful way you have represented and explained, I really want to try out but I don't think I'm going to get the equipment such as the rolled metals at the top and the bottom of the lamp. thank you for your effort and time. I appreciate your humbleness
I love that British accent so much!
Beautiful lamp🌹🏵️🌷🌼🌻🌺
Thank you. Good and informative video. Had a little trouble finding the white material in DK .... it's called Astralit .. (and not quite cheap around 25euro per m / 0,6m).
beautifyl. systematic guide, step by step.
I don’t sew but I enjoyed watching this video. I’m captivated how precise sewers are! And articulate. What if you have hand shake! 😅
So beautiful.
merci beaucoup 😉

Clear vedio thank you
Great tutorial! Somehow I missed to see the part when you score the plastic before you fold it back. What are you do it with and how? Thank you for your answer!
Thank you! What kind of fabric are you using here?
great video, please can we have a video on a candle lampshaes please.
I would like to record my great admiration for these wonderful works of art. I am from Egypt, and my work is in papyrus, which is made of papyrus, the oldest paper in history. I love handicrafts, and I will try to make one out of papyrus.all my apprecition and respect for your wonderful art works
Hello, this is the most informative video I have ever seen and I have seen my share. I am wanting to start making lamps but I was not thinking about making the shades till now. So this was really a big help. Thank you so much for sharing you knowledge with us.
Excellent
Helpful, indeed.
great video, what kind of paper is that?
thank you for this great detail. Can you please let me know where I can find these materials?
what is the name of this tape that you are using here to stics on
Thank you ma'am
Well done. Does the double sided tape come with the shade kit?
Thank-you so much great Tutorial. Where can I buy your Lamp Shades Kits from.
Verry thanks
could you show how to make oval lamp shade, but the top and bottom isn't the same size? thanks
Very nice
Very good
thanks
good video, i just have one question you didnt explain why and what to do with the two little extra flaps of material on the end of the fabric ?
Wow nice
Thank you for this video ....what is the name of this tissue ??
Great video. How would you add a copper adhesive paper to the inside of the drum kit? Thankyou
We haven't seen copper adhesive paper, what we have seen on the market are copper and metallic coloured liners (rather than the white in the video). These are UV stabilised - Anti Yellowing and Engineered for lampshade making, passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Association etc. So we would use those rather than copper paper. Take a look here www.dannells.com/stick-it----brushed-metal-362-c.asp
- Beautiful job but why not use Fray Check prior to removing the edge tape ???
Great tips, thank you. Perhaps a thin painted line of Modge Podge on the top & bottom inside fabric edges before attaching to the styrene, once dried, may help to prevent frayed edges. I am recovering an existing shade with the same fabric as my drapes, so am working without a kit. I assume (as my styrene is not pre-scored) I will cut my fabric slightly bigger allowing for a folding edge. Is the sticky taped used specialized or would double sided tape work just as well? I have not been able to find your type of tape in NZ. Many thanks
Tesa tape is the brand used here and it is extremely strong and often used in automotive applications because it can withstand high heat. Google a supplier in your area and look for 10-12mm width. Other tapes I tried have not held strong enough and the seams tend to open. On the issue of fraying around the spoke where you make the cut, I just make a shorter cut at the spoke and it seems to work fine. I work without a kit and create my own score (kiss cut) on the styrene. Add approx. 28mm to the measurement of the height of your lampshade (14 mm each for top and bottom) to come up with the size of your styrene. For example, if your lampshade is 30 cm high, add 28 mm for a total of 32.8 cm. With your styrene side face up, mark a ruler line 14mm in along the top and bottom length of the styrene. Using a sharp blade, apply enough pressure to score the styrene but not the peel off backing (cutting on the styrene side up). This will create a nice "kiss cut" that you can peel off just as shown in Cindy's kit demo.
@@linkreisz3262 I can't find a supplier anywhere. Do you know which tape it is from Tesa? There are a bunch of Tesa branded tapes on ebay. If I knew the model number, I can buy it from there! THANKS!
Help !!! I have bent back the kiss strips on the styrene, but when I peel them off the adhesive comes off too, why is this happening!? What can I do ? I have tried it from every corner and its the same problem each time.
Great video, very helpful. Where do you purchase the liner material and does it have any heat resistance?
It was part of a kit. try www.dannells.com/ they supply kits and I think they may also supply components
I love to hear your voice
What cloth material is that?? And where do I buy the lamp shade rings from
Que material es el autoadhesivo?
Thanks is tuttorial ....tolong sebutkan nama 2 material.dan beli dimana trimakasij banyak..
❤️❤️❤️ nice
wonderful art. can i know what is the name of the tip and what is the easiest way to do rings and material . my career is in papyrus paper and i think about doing lampshades with the oldest paper in history papyrus paper
👍 Great
*I suggest a Clothes pin or chip clips to hold the shade in place on the rings, as you roll the rings.*
Where do you order the lampshade kits from
Por favor ,cómo se llama el material blanco que va por dentro ,y que es el que le da firmeza a la mampara?
Are the strips you bent back pre creased on the card or did you create these...great tutorial!! Thank you
good question - to score the styrene can be hard. it wont necessarily peel off along the marked line...then you are stuffed
If you buy the kit they are pre-scored. I work without a kit and create my own score on the styrene. Using a sharp blade, apply enough pressure to score the styrene but not the peel off backing (cutting on the styrene side). This will create a nice "kiss cut" that you can peel off just as shown in Cindy's kit demo.
Nice tips. BUT had a nightmare trying to cut the styrene to size.
