Hot Tent Camping In A Blizzard | Talking Version

In this video I go hot tent camping in a blizzard! This was my first time hot tent camping in a blizzard like this. The weather forecast called for 12 inches (30 cm) of snow and wind gusts of 40-50 mph (64-80 kph). I hiked through knee deep snow for two miles (3.2 km) to reach my camp. It took nearly 3 hours with the bad weather! When I arrived at the lake I found it was frozen over and the wind was absolutely howling! I set up my new Ankhiale Outdoors Zeta 1 hot tent and hunkered down for the night. The wind and snow only got worse through the night and into the morning. This was an incredibly windy trip and I'm glad my hot tent kept me safe! I hope you enjoy this crazy video!

  • According to boy scouts of America the 45° angle is no longer considered the optimal angle for holding down tents, or any other shelter or in the application I utilized stakes in was inflatables. Since children mostly use them and they were notorious for flying away, they investigated everything about them and found straight up and down has the best holding power. We've had to leave stakes in the ground or use huge amounts of leverage to pull 18" stakes. Also drop one stake to hold the tent while setting up in the wind, makes it less frustrating. Great content and can't wait to see what you're up to next.

  • Cool looking tent I like it that it has 2 rooms the bedroom area and the kitchen area and the material looks like it would hold in the heat real well... I always say set up camp where there is plenty of firewood near. level area, close to water source, and some healthy trees for shelter from the wind...
