RED DWARF | (Professor) Cat: “Soliciumfrankolithicmixyalebidiumrixydixydoxydexydroxide”
#RedDwarf
Red Dwarf Series VIII Episode 8. Only The Good
Red Dwarf is being destroyed from within by a corrosive microorganism. In order to find the antidote, Kryten has set up a port way to a mirror universe. Rimmer successfully steps through first, but then the mirror solidifies, preventing Kochanski from joining him and Rimmer from returning. Rimmer soon discovers that he is now Captain, a result of the mirror universe. Once he tries to discover what the virus now antidote is called, he speaks with the Professor, who is Cat.
Rather unsurprisingly, I had to research the spelling of the antidote. Both Planet Smeg and Lysator state that as per the description within their scripts.
Cast Members (in this clip, listed in order as per the episode credits):
Arnold Rimmer - Chris Barrie
Cat - Danny John-Jules
0:17 LOL I'm amazed how quick Danny John-Jules said that.
I think that he probably surprised the crew and even himself!
I wonder how many "takes" it took? 😂
@@ericpode6095 Not as many as you might think. If you pay close attention, they seem to have used greenscreen to hide a cue card. Notice how his hands don't move? How rights side (Our left) moves with his breathing, but the other side doesn't?
More to the point, how long did it take him to memorize it as he doesnt seem to be reading it.
@@benlowe1701 That's a good catch actually.
The outtakes and extras on the dvd of the cast attempting the line is funny.
I haven't seen that. I will have to find it.
I found that as the series progressed, the cat became the funny one in the series more and more, wibbly gun anyone :)
I believe that Cat was the funniest as well. He was my favourite character.
@@StutterBoyECFC That spanish sounding droid with the toupee was really funny too. I wish they had done more with him
The writing suffered a bit after rob grants depature though
@makeitsonumberone1358 Yes, indeed. Maybe it was being back on Red Dwarf with a full crew, but from Series VIII, it wasn't as great, in my opinion.
He was always the funniest, from the moment he leapt out of the vent the first time he was on screen.
Utter brilliance!. Nuff said.... 🤣
Chris Barrie was definitely trying not to start laughing there you can see his facial expression towards the end of this scene
Someone asked him to do this at a Con, he politely refused as he couldn’t remember in the slightest
just brilliant
in that clip he looks and sounds like Orlando Jones.
and he smells it, because he's a cat... oh wait
I cant figure out whats more confusing, that name or cat being a smart guy
Rimmer as captain as well!
@@StutterBoyECFC true
cesium frankaliphic mixialibidium rixy dixy doxy dexy droxide
"What is it?" "Soliciumfrankolithicmixyalebidiumrixydixydoxydexydroxide." Obviously. 🤷♂
The material is cesiumfrancolithicmyxialobidiumrixydixydoxidexidroxhide. Soliciumfrankolithicmixyalebidiumrixydixydoxydexydroxide is yellow.
Soliciumfrankolithicmixyalebidiumrixydixydoxydexydroxide is probably the virus they were probably trying to counteract in the first place. What it turned back into when Rimmer left the mirror universe.
Pay close attention to his hands. See how they don't move? Thats because they have CGi'd over the card he is reading off.
Great, now I can't unsee it
are you sure because the cast were made to learn it. his eyes arent even looking at his hands
@@glitterizedrainbow2311 overlay on that area of the screen to hide the card and give the apparent look of him looking at Rimmer.
@@HesmiyuMC Then why would they edit the hands?
That sounds like a quite expensive alternative to just having a piece of paper in his line of sight off-camera
Get it right, it's 'cesiumfrancolithicmixyalabidiumrixydixydoxydexydroxhide'. I know cos I has the script book for season 8
