Venusaur kicking ass for the 456123th generation in a row "I got one more in me!"
Venusaur is the wilt chamberlain of the Pokémon universe
Will always be my number 1... Lol
I always used a GameShark to get venusaur. It’s my fave and does well in every meta
"I ain't hear no bell." - Plant dinosaur, 1994-2024 30 years and he's still orbiting around the meta.
The Decidueyes make me so sad. They’re so cool but GF keep making them “Jack of all trades, master of none” type Pokemon while the others were decently optimized.
Same thing applies to Delphox I think
@@shiruotakuno28Swords dance and max airstream used to solve that but we can't do that anymore to make up for his low speed.
If only regular Decidueye was a mixed attacker, and Hisuian was a dedicated physical sweeper.
@@manoftruth0935 Gamefreak, if you're reading this, please don't do what he said. Under no circumstances should Decidueye who is already underwhelming be stretched even thinner. Just buff his speed to make him the fast glass cannon he should've been.
@@YosiahW way to show that you never played Pokémon at all. Not even the mobile gacha games.
"Dont expect me to go on about how blakizen broke gen 4 singles." I will give you the benefit of the doubt and believe it was intentional since it me chuckle.
I had to hold back whipping out the um actually comment because I assumed it was meant to be a joke😂
i know it was intentional.
It broke Gen 5
As much as I want to see new regional variants of other starters, I feel like the gen 6 starters were done so dirty that they need a second chance in legends z-a
Chesnaught and Delphox, yes (especially aesthetically). As much as I love Greninja, Chesnaught and Delphox need something, and I refuse to believe Ash-Greninja is gone.
honestly i love delphox but it has gotten no love with it's hidden ability plus close to 0 new tools in moveset and such :/
Okay, was Battle Bond (Ash)Greninja legal? If not, then I'd understand.
Incineroar is the most broken starter in VGC lmao!
it’s the most broken pokemon period in vgc atp 😂
Serperior with contrary ability and leaf storm is the best starter ever and my signature pokemon in competitive battles
@@videos43334dhdjj774h I am truly sorry to say that but.. It isn't even tho it's really good, don't get me wrong, but things like Ash-Greninja, Both Mega Charizard, Mega Swampert and Mega Blaziken out shine it. Tho, as a starter without a mega or alternative form it is one of the best
Fun fact, Charizard was the only Kanto starter that didn’t win Worlds in 2022. Venusaur won in Seniors while Blastoise won in Juniors.
That's called a poetic justice
My boi blastoise!!! XD agreed that this is justice for all the love the zard gets.
@@Akamaaku I love zarn 😭
Charizard is soo underappreciated😢
@@k-realm9719 I agree charzarn gets so much hate it’s just not right!
Man, the Johto starters are just pitiful, especially Meganium. I know the region is known for having a few terrible Pokemon but this is ridiculous.
A few? That entire generation is like 4 good Pokémon, and an entire dex of awful ones. I’ve heard “Gen 2 Stats” being used as an insult before.
even the best mons have bad spread of stats.. Lugia is a fast fat wall that does 0 damage... Ho-Oh has good spread tbf but it can be optimized more...
@@IndiraDevi-yq6vm ho oh is plenty good as it is tbh, it's one of the best ubers in singles... can't say that about lugia tho
@@H2Ocup Yeah Ho-Oh is pretty good but um its stats arent really optimized... If it was a gen 9 legendary it prob would have 110 defense and 150 atk with 70 sp.atk.. Lugia needs a massive rework... Being a fast wall was good in Old gens where lugia wasnt so passive but now with mons like Miraidon and Koraidon residing its very very passive with awful typing making its bulk so bad.. Lugia would have been Water/Flying if it was introduced this gen.
I reckon Meganium is a rework away from being broken its stats are already good. Let's say it gets this Meganium Grass / Steel Ability: Defiant HP: 80 Attack: 83 Defence: 100 SP Atk: 82 SP Def: 100 Speed: 80
An all starter team in competitive Pokemon!? 😮What a legend! 👏🏻
Bro did the impossible,he won with his favourites😭 (He didn’t get first but still)
I hope you guys like this one we worked really hard on it!
Your channel is so underrated!!
charizard finnally winning a which starter is best video
Average age range of people getting into Pokémon is 8-10. So here are the average birth years of the people who got into the franchise for each generation: Gen 1: 1988-1992 (1986-1991 in Japan) Gen 2: 1990-1995 (1989-1994 in Japan) Gen 3: 1993-1999 (1992-1998 in Japan) Gen 4: 1997-2003 (1996-2002 in Japan) Gen 5: 2001-2005 (2000-2005 in Japan) (International release era begins:) Gen 6: 2003-2008 Gen 7: 2006-2011 Gen 8: 2009-2014 Gen 9: 2012-? (since we don't yet know when this Gen will end)
I’m an 2013 but I got introduced to it with let’s go an gen 7 game
@@styggythestegosaurus5740I’m around there a bit older and I’m also gen 7
Born 1984, guess I'm not a Pokémon fan 😂
2009 but Gen 3 (The Gen 1 remakes)
pretty accurate, im a 2011 born and started pokemon with ultra sun
They kind of did Sceptile dirty by making it the only gen 3 starter to stay one type, also the mega was lack luster because it got an ability that was pretty useless
I agree and the reason why is because Grass is just pitiful when it comes to type advantage/disadvantage. Oh you can beat ground and rock types? Water does that too. But at least Water has 2 weaknesses only, Grass has 5....................5 weaknesses.
Venusaur being a fast sweeper is pretty hilarious
Charizard with a beard is actually good-looking.
My favorite starter is Swampert, I love his design and typing (the best of all starter pokémon, in my opinion)
I just wish it has access to either regenerator or Recover at least
it is the best starter as it has 525 base stat total while the others have 524
@@Raonar303higher base stats doesn’t mean it’s the best, best starter would be the one who dominates competitive and that’s incineroar
Swampert is very cool, fun type cause it's the 2 legendaries type I love Typhlosion as well
@@saintsforever3751 in doubles it's dominant. In single well.. Not so much
Say what you want, but the aqua step moxie combo is pog in the main and dlc story
One day delphox will have meta relevance on a format post Gen 7 singles.
Game Freak = Denethor Gen 1 starters = Boromir Gen 2 starters = Faramir
The most accurate statement
I personally think delphox is like criminally underrated it’s surprisingly fast and 110 special atk is 110 special atk
Delphox is one of those pokemon that are theoretically fine but its abilities are god awful for it. perhaps it would have been better if it had magic guard/bounce or alternatively psychic surge or misty surge could be nice abilities for it
I desperately want it to have a better ability. Magician is fun at times but it SUCKS. please gamefreak only one of the French trio is eating!
Man, Gamefreak really hates their water starters.
Greninja:- You underestimated my power
@@lelouch7315 Scarlet and Violet begs to differ.
@@lelouch7315 midninja: No you didn't
Kinda wish Zard's Hidden Ability was Drought. Solar Power is cool though.
Hi u make rly gud contact keep it work
incineroar intimidate was the main part of the meta for multiple gens in a row no-one tops it
Gen 1 was the first generation I played, Yellow being the first game I beat (used all three starters of course), I'm happy to see how well the three are utilized in VGC. I won't deny that I'm pretty thankful the GF gives them the most love. I would like to see other generations get more love though, especially the Sinnoh starters.
By the way speedboost blazeken is introduced in gen 5 not gen 4
Skraw is a secret genwunner confirmed
Based rating. Tier list when?
I could see the Paldean Starter Trio being at least 3rd best when compared to the starter trios we currently have.
the thumbnail is awesome
I haven't even started the video and I already know my main little squirt Mudkip is gonna be the goat.
Any time i hear some pokemon competitive stuff i know my feelings will be hurt. Typholosion is my favorite pokemon but I know he be struggling on the competitive ladder 😭
As a gen Z (2005) the first starter i had was chimchar (well technically the crocanaw line but that was off a siblings soul silver copy he never touched when i was like 3-5 and i did not play that game full way through) and my absoloute fave is turtwig I would say my soft spot for gen 4 would be be playing through pearl plat+ remakes and being the first games i played properly
Haven't seen the video, but it looks like it's all just going to lead up to him saying "Incineroar OP pls nerf. *video ends*"
Find out
@@skrawvgc I'm too busy rotting my brain on yt shorts.
This Video Made My Day (I love Gen 1)
Serperior and Feraligator was my first 2 Starters. So i have my favorites for this pokemon.
The only type worst than flying in blue/red was bug. I don't care about the ground immunity. Adding it as a second type was a weakness.
People born in the 80's/90's are not boomers. They're millenials.
Guess I used Rillaboom a lot in SwSh lol
7 solely based off of incineroar
Basically to make a starter pokemon good, they just need a good stat spread and a good ability
Of course, by breeding, you can have both G-Max Wildfire and Solar Power on the same Charizard. It just takes some resource and time investment to get 3 Max Mushrooms to get your bred Charmander a Max Soup.
I really hope they make typhlosion a bit better. Heck even all the starters thay dont see play should get a buff to thier stats or reworks to them. Even new abilities like empoleon. I was hoping GF would do that since they are trying to "balance" the game but it seems they are only balancing around what new pokemon come out for that gen and nothing else.
Blaziken never had speed boost in gen 4
Its all fun and games till incineroar hit you with the intimidate > fake out > parting shot
I don't believe Incineroar has even access to Helping Hand in/for Doubles...
Gen 1! 🗣️🎙️🔥
Just clicked the video and if it's not mudkip I will do absolutely nothing
Venusaur has literally been great for almost my entire adulthood. I'm turning 40 this year.
Skraw: power creep? What's that?
Since powercreep is an issue in this series as well. Likely a later generation would be more powerfull. UNLESS! Charizards favoritism would allow him to beat the 4x rock/stealth rock weakness?
man torterra was my fav starter for an long time is sad that he’s bad
Same
I think gen 7 couldve also been given the win cause prim and incin r good
Global Challenge 2 video?
Prediction: gen 1 cuz GF favouritism keep giving them stronger forms or buffs each game
its about to go DOWN if mega swampert is in Z-A
For me its always gonna be, Empoleon, Decidueye, Meowscarada.
Swampert being popular in European rain teams. Ah, so the Galarians decided to compete?
I’m not sure how strong he/she is but my Mudkip might be one of my favorites.
Im admittedly confused about g max zard. Was leons gift Gmax Charmander locked ti blaze and it was illegal to ability patch it?
Ability Patch was only added with Crown Tundra, so by the time it was released you could already have Solar Power Gmax through other means. Not sure why it became available in March though, maybe that's when it had an event distribution or they added HOME compatibility?
@@bluekirby_64I remember SwSh did a weird thing where they only allowed GMax Pokemon after raid events that made them more common for a time (before the DLC). For example GMax Coalossal and Lapras were not allowed at first, but once they had raid events, they were allowed in the next ruleset.
I'm more of a singles player and hopefully it becomes official, but this video was a wonderful treat.
A format where gamefreaks golden boys charizard and incin can't be used? Nah not gonna happen
Not happening anytime soon
Meowscarada solos
Venosaur is by far the most consistently good one.
ITS MILLENNIALS. NOT BOOMERS. If you're going to do the joke just do it right!!!
2025 here chraizard now has 3 mega forms
Prediction: the newer ones
Know how many times I have taken out mega Charizard Y in competitive with sceptile rock slide? No disrespect to its stats I'm just saying it's not that hard to take care of that "threat." Between sceptile and mega altaria and infernape-stone-edge (there are more) as 3 examples i can honestly say I feel like Charizard X has posed more of a challenge overall if I'm being honest because it's got bulk
My dumbass thought incineroar and rillaboom were in the same gen for the purposes of this vid 💀 I’ve been traumatized by these bara fake out mons with broken hidden abilities
incin has been meta and probably the most broken support mon for almost 10 years straight now
My expectations would be on Paldean starters. Skeledirge on its own is already extremely busted due to Torch Song. Meowskarada's 100% crit is also pretty disgusting and Quaquaval not only has Speed-Boosting move - it has coverage against every other starter in the franchise. It's only more of a discussion with introduction of Megas, but with Legends Z-A hopefully we can also get those for Paldean bros. Because Swampert and Blaziken would dominate otherwise. If we go solo - it's probably between Incineroar or Skeledirge, tbh. In that matchup Incineroar wins because of the typing (unless we go Tera). But Unaware or Blaze Torch Song are just way to gross to pass on and power of Intimidate is in swapping around. 0:45 Oh its VGC - yeah then its probably Venusaur or Incineroar. Venusaur was always a solid tank, that could support and it is always valid during weather wars. His ranking probably would come from just being the first starter ever and being solid Pokemon in the base form. Incineroar probably will outperform it in the long run - in next 10-20 years it probably will still be in top VGC teams. 4:55 Btw. the only time Pledge moves were relevant - was with Venusaur during the early Mega weather wars during Sun and Moon era. With Drought Charizard and Chlorophyll Venusaur - you had a secured Pledge attack round 1, that activated sea of fire, potentially inspiring future G-Max Wildfire on Gigantamax Charizard. It only got pushed out by the higher use of better Megas, other weather conditions being more preferable (especially with Pelipper's rise to fame) and ultimately the introduction of the legendaries and Ultra Beasts into the format. 7:40 I would expect Mega Blaziken + Bisharp strategy to come back for the Legends Z-A era, but with disgustingly more powerful Kingambit next to it.
Why would anyone use blaze + gambit when you could instead use gouging fire + gambit
And yet I still demand a second more offensive Mega Venusaur form and a Charizard Z
This conclusion was unfair since the starters from gen 1 had 9 generations to shiny compared to Incineroar and Rilabom
Gen 8 had enough viability to be considered in my opinion
incineroar.
oh, VGC's in this?
forgot ash greninja being broken
Ash Greninja was not legal in VGC
10:07 this hurts me to my core torterra is my favorite starter and pokemon
You forgot to mention Battle Bond Ash-Greninja.
Ash Greninja isn't legal in VGC

Incineroar is the goat, and Rillaboom is a close second, but Venasaur will always be the king
Incineroar is totally broken pokemon...❤ After Inci my favourite is Rillaboom...❤
This is crazy.. how weird people are with their choices
Bro said first time Charizard saw competitive play was in Sw/Sh like SunScarf and Mega never existed 😭😭 must be a age gap
Meganium single-handedly wiped the entire Claire and Lance's team in my Heart Gold run. Swords Dance + Outrage is insane and people sleep on it like it never exists 🙃
To be fair I used cheats to make Meganium learn Outrage without a move tutor before the 7th gym lmao
"People sleep on it" ➡ "I cheated in order to get it while it would still be useful" Huh?
I get you, I used to run a hacked Sandslash with Judgement and Space Rend and honestly he's underrated
Gen 3 for life !!! ❤
I haven't even watched the video and I already know the best one is gen 7 because it gets carried by inciniroar
Idk what ppl say charizard solos bro really can learn 5 types of oves
Me, a kid, saves up for a year and a half. Gets a Fattyboy and Pokemon Red. Picks Bulbasaur. Proceeds to absolutely dunk on the game. Venasaur is just too much of a beast.
hell yeah! venusaur for life! we poison and leech seed the entire game!
Kanto is very kind for Grass types, with only Blaine posing a challenge (but you have so many Water types at disposal to take him out).
LETS GO MY BOY CHARIZARD WON
Easy answer, swampert
❤❤❤❤
Speed boost Blaziken wasn’t in Gen 4. Smogon is the best and most balanced rule set.
I wish Decidueye was more optimized, it's one of my favourite starters but it's not viable at all because of it's "usefull" allrounder basestats. It even has a great movepool but that doesn't fix those basestats
Too bad Charizard's abilities aren't the other way around. 8:00 Time to use Torrent? Infernape matches the anime.
Charizard sucks in gen 1, no spcl atk boost yet
I still disagree, Incineroar solo carries his whole gen. Winning every single world title he's been a part of since his intimidate release. Gen 1 starters have made to 2nd place tops.
Blaziken was pretty shit before BW2
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that I hope, for it's own sake, that Primarina never gets any more popular in VGC. Everybody wants their favorite starter to be the best, but here's the thing about that... "The nail that sticks up gets hammered down." Being good is cause for getting nerfed, look at Greninja. Look at Cinderace. I, for one, would be perfectly content for the competitive scene to forget about my favorite and let me enjoy having it in peace, like Delphox and Decidueye. Thank you for Calm Mind, Game Freak, now kindly leave Primarina alone and go buff some other bulky water.
It's no surprise that Gen 1 would top it. The favoritism, gimmicks, and subsidized buffs that GF has given to these 3 goobers over the course of 25+ years was surely going to secure them more wins if we're talking overall W's. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the trio that has been around the longest, plus received busted megas and G-Max forms would thrive in the competitive scene. It's incredibly frustrating in all honesty, since if we were just looking at these 3 for their base forms alone, they are nowhere near close to being at all noteworthy in the modern day. Gen 9 imo had the best balance of power for their trio, whereas gen 8 and 7 are carried by one overwhelmingly powerful starter choice that doesn't rely on a battle boost gimmick to be broken. There's no denying the legacy of the OG trio, and I still like these 3 for what it's worth. But I'm absolutely sick and tired of the constant spotlight that they get. Plus, it's bittersweet that Gen 1 is the winner since GF loves to rotate gimmicks away which strips these starters of their prime performance. So now, these 3 are just kind of potatoes in VGC as of Gen 9.
Justice for grass type Pokemon. we even lacking of grass type legendaries and mythicals except they're weak and useless, Celebi, Shaymin and Tapu Bulu for instance
Shaymin is a flinch god definitely not useless
