When Georgie Stone was a toddler, she knew her body just didn’t feel right. For years, she’s battled the bullies and bureaucracy to be herself.

When she started on ‘Neighbours’ as a transgender character, I had no idea much later that Georgie WAS actually, in reality a transgender person. Loved her character, such a positive person and had great chemistry with the other high school classmates.
Georgie and her family must have never heard of Carlotta. Carlotta was in Number 96 in the early 1970's and has worked on television for decades until her recent retirement. She has been the trailblazer and as far as I know has never had negative press. So the statement made by Georgie's mother that transgenderism has only had negative press is false.

Seemed things were better back then even with less visibility, and yes some trans women/ men were seemingly more accepted, even though many didn't understand as life was more easy going and people like Carlotta were a human being not seen as some dangerous inhuman ideology. However in the last decade the far right media and evangelist anti trans lobbies have seen the existence of trans women/men/ trans rights as a convenient scapegoat/ a wedge issue/ political football and way to spread fear and misinformation, under the banner of "defending women's and children's rights" while they sneak in fascist ideals under the banner of concern and return to authoritarian social conservatism. Social media has brought out nasty side of people who can act that way in anonymity, where in the times of Carlotta they could not.

She’s so amazing - I feel anyone that doesn’t ‘get’ transgender should just listen to Georgie talk about her life and struggles to understand that it is very real. She’s so eloquent and I think her willingness to be a role model is so important because she has the ability to open the door to understanding for people that have no knowledge.

Georgie Stone mother is English born in Surrey UK like many Australians are all from England originally he father is Australian born most of the older cast of neighbours and home away lot of them are from the UK born.

I thought she started puberty blockers at 10? How come she’s so tall?
cis women can be tall too. so puberty blockers aren't guaranteed to make a trans person shorter. had many people in my high school class who were between 5'9 and 6'0. lots that were a few inches shorter, but being tall wasn't abnormal.

@@violet_skrs I’m not being a victim. They and you have a lot of cheek to call women cis when all you have to do is call us women. Trans can have their prefix before women since they are coming into our spaces. Most women are pissed off with the use of cis so out of respect for actual real women don’t use it!.
