I predict a low quality game. You can even see it trough a short pieces of gameplay in that trailer. I think the biggest part of Avalanche is busy now with Just Cause 3 or a new IP. An original movie Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior was such a masterpiece. All hopes of video game industry is lying on Naughty Dog's shoulders.

It's not a racing game people! Sure, it has a big focus on vehicles, but that's because this is a Mad Max game, and if you know Mad Max you know that vehicles play a big part. This game mixes third person shooting with melee combat and vehicular battles. I think (and hope) that this game is going to be great! Can't wait to play it on PS4.

Well. I've lost all hope in current gaming humanity. What's all this bullshit I'm reading here? "Wtf this is just Twisted Metal" "Copying Rage" "Didn't expect a car game. I'll pass." Now I know Mad Max isn't the most popular, widely-known movie series out there. But everyone who's seen even the slightest bit of this new game has read that it's about the old 70's/80's movies. You know, the movie all the aforementioned games took major inspiration from? Rage was basically a Mad Max homage. Twisted Metal had the car-combat portrayed so well in Mad Max. And don't even get me started on FallOut. And now it's finally getting it's own brand game. And I couldn't pick a better studio to perform this hard task of making a righteous Mad Max game that serves it's legendary status, than Avalanche Studios. - Oh wait this is the internet nobody gives a shit.

If they were smart enough. they'd change the name to something else. call the game inspired by Mad Max not the whole thing is a Mad Max game. and design the game to be a lot different than the movie. few hints about it here and there. we all know how games based on movies end up.

So people are bitching about West Coast Customs making an appearance in the trailer, thinking that it somehow is incorporated into the game itself, here is a tip, go to Google and type in "Mad Max West Coast Customs" they toke the car that we will probably see in-game and what we just saw and built a real version of it. And people seem to not know what genre the game is when it is blindingly obvious, its a "post-apocalyptic vehicular combat with an open world" you know like the vehicular combat parts of RAGE or any other vehicular combat game.

People there is no West Coast Customs in the game. The clips you see here are from an episode of the show where they built a replica of the car. Set the settings to 1080p and it becomes obvious. A quick Google search would help too. The reason this trailer came out was to promote that episode of the show,.

I hope they won't mess up the car handling. I hate when vehicles in the game don't have the weight to them. You can have pretty graphics but if your cars handle like shopping trolleys and weigh as much then screw your game. I'm looking at you, RAGE, Saint's Row series and about 100 other games..

This. Exactly this. The only game I can think of right now where the cars actually had realistic, heavy weight and handling to them was Mafia II. Just cruising around and seeing every little detail about the cars react to the physics was pure eyecandy.

WOOTinator Yup, I love Mafia II, I could cruise around the city for hours just listening to the radio. They nailed car handling perfectly. The other one I like is GTA IV. The physics and damage model are still awesome in 2014. Currently enjoying amazing tank handling in War Thunder ground forces closed beta. The graphics (tank models, particle effects) sound, gameplay have blown me away. The new Carmageddon: Reincarnation nailed car handling and damage model perfectly as well. Recommended.

I'd like to note that it isn't mad max narrating the trailer. Avalanche has stated numerous times, after some pre alpha gameplay footage was shown, that Max will have an Australian accent. The narrator in the video refers to max as "He" and his car as "his." Max doesn't speak in third person, nor does he narrate. As a matter of fact, he rarely even talks.

Magnum Opus? is that the name of the game or the car? if so, Max would never call his car anything like that, i expect Richard Wagner to call his car that, not emotionally broken and jaded Max Rockatansky. If they were smart enough. they'd change the name to something else. call the game inspired by Mad Max not the whole thing is a Mad Max game. and design the game to be a lot different than the movie. few hints about it here and there. we all know how games based on movies end up.
They're doing something kind of parallel to the movies - it tells its own story using the IP, but its not strictly following the movies.
After seeing this video, this is really TWISTED METAL..
So people are bitching about West Coast Customs making an appearance in the trailer, thinking that it somehow is incorporated into the game itself, here is a tip, go to Google and type in "Mad Max West Coast Customs" they toke the car that we will probably see in-game and what we just saw and built a real version of it. And people seem to not know what genre the game is when it is blindingly obvious, its a "post-apocalyptic vehicular combat with an open world" you know like the vehicular combat parts of RAGE or any other vehicular combat game.
As soon as the trailer voice said "But he built a better one.." I was expecting to see Xzibit to pop up to PIMP HIS RIDE

I think the story is set in America going on at the same time as the Mad Max movies.

Pretty sure the developers said the game is set in Aussie land and will have Australian accents. And not all of us Yanks want to destroy an Aussie cultural icon. I really fuckin' hope this game isn't set in America with American accents, there's no way I'd buy it.

People there is no West Coast Customs in the game. The clips you see here are from an episode of the show where they built a replica of the car. Set the settings to 1080p and it becomes obvious. A quick Google search would help too. The reason this trailer came out was to promote that episode of the show,.
This reminds me of Ride to Hell Retribution. I bet this will be as great as that game... yeah!

I hope they won't mess up the car handling. I hate when vehicles in the game don't have the weight to them. You can have pretty graphics but if your cars handle like shopping trolleys and weigh as much then screw your game. I'm looking at you, RAGE, Saint's Row series and about 100 other games..
This. Exactly this. The only game I can think of right now where the cars actually had realistic, heavy weight and handling to them was Mafia II. Just cruising around and seeing every little detail about the cars react to the physics was pure eyecandy.
WOOTinator Yup, I love Mafia II, I could cruise around the city for hours just listening to the radio. They nailed car handling perfectly. The other one I like is GTA IV. The physics and damage model are still awesome in 2014. Currently enjoying amazing tank handling in War Thunder ground forces closed beta. The graphics (tank models, particle effects) sound, gameplay have blown me away. The new Carmageddon: Reincarnation nailed car handling and damage model perfectly as well. Recommended.
I just want the game to not have driving mechanics like driver cause I freaking hate the driving mechanic in that franchise

I'd like to note that it isn't mad max narrating the trailer. Avalanche has stated numerous times, after some pre alpha gameplay footage was shown, that Max will have an Australian accent. The narrator in the video refers to max as "He" and his car as "his." Max doesn't speak in third person, nor does he narrate. As a matter of fact, he rarely even talks.
This just reminds me of the shitty green light games on steam.

If the physics are really loose and something like what you'd find in Flatout then I might be interested. That's how it looks like based on this trailer but you never know, have to wait until real gameplay.

So they could have come up with a DayZ survival game based in the MadMax wasteland. Instead we have left with Motorstorm mixed who knows what and West Coast Customs.
This just looks like a game about driving cars in a desert.
Im not into racing games so um not buying it but it looks good for people who like racing games the last good racing game I played was motorstorm apocalypse!!

Thank god it's not another shooter, current gen is really lacking good car games ( exept 2 awesome games coming like the crew and driveclub ) and this game has got west coast customs WOW that's impressive

Not a problem as long as you can drive fast and most importantly the ability to customize your car and by shooter i meant call of duty/battlefield type of games (fps that's mostly focusing on multiplayer that attracts a lot of annoying kids like titanfall) :)
If it's just driving around crashing in to stuff then I'll pass.

It is more than that. You need to collect oil and infiltrate bases etc. but yeah, it is a Mad Max game after all :)
