Amit Daryanani, Evercore ISI senior managing director, Angelo Zino, CFRA Research senior equity analyst, and CNBC's Steve Kovach join 'Closing Bell Overtime' with Apple quarterly results.
If you listen to the call Tim says iPhone sales only down 0.8% which he called "flat".
So Sad, shameful and pathetic for Mr. Cook wasting company cash on shares buyback instead of investing in Real R&D and AI !!!
who said this? no change in capex because Apple decided to end the apple car and move everyone to AI all hands on deck. All because they aren't spending more on capex doesn't mean they are neglecting the importance of AI
If you knew even basic finance you'd understand why shares buyback is the absolute best decision that they've made.
@@MahanFan1 please explain more for us mere mortals lol
@@MahanFan1at above 25 pe and with 5% interest rate...not sure it is a wise decision
Truth Social stuff by Apple 🤣
Tim cook knows how to pump a stock. If any other company posted the earnings apple did with there main segment declining it would be in shambles instead tim cook gets preferential treatment. Also a horrible long term decision to spend $110 billion when you could up R&D to re accelerate growth or even get treasurys at like 5% generating over $5 billion of interest income
I agree, why they aren't using it to buy AI firms and get the expertise in, I don't know. This is just a way to pump the stock in light of declining growth.

i am not making a comparison … the entire situation is it’s own future major scandal but 2024 q1 tesla/elon? I cant. My point is, this why the stock market is such a beautiful thing, you can’t lie or bs for long. Madoff did but it was a different time. Today? No shot. Walk the walk. * Edit: Shoutout to Caravana for Walking that Walk 2024 Q1. They did the work. Planned and Executed backed up against the wall. They reported. Stock up instantly 35%. This is how it works.
@@GK-qc5ry actually, they have been doing a lot with Ai, pay attention
Thanks. 👍 I was just at an education conference. Several educators were praising Apple for their efforts to support teachers and students. 👍👍
Sometimes people do buy backs because they know their stock will go down in the near future, giving certain people the last chance to cash out.
Absurd....as in not true
@@valetudo1569 Please explain why this is so far outside your understanding of how the world works?
Tom Lee got AAPL Poots 😂😂😂😂😂
AAPL should have distributed $110B to shareholders as a payout. They deserve it.
Dividend payments are inefficient way to return shareholder value. You reduce intrinsic value and shareholder has pay taxes

I love it
It's the best indicate that Apple has no idea what else to do with that pile of money. They have no other big product in the pipe line
💯 but this is ONE lump sum. They have been doing buybacks for the past 10 yrs instead of innovate. The DOJ and EU lawsuits don’t help
Long overdue slump.
$110 billion share buyback with revenue declining on core segment (iPhone) and company overvalued close to ath that shouldn't be taken as a good news at all! they should spend that money on R&D and get better products out and accelarate on IA otherwise is a dead company which is being launching the same products since Steve Jobs passed away! another magnificient stock which will drop off the list if things don't turn around soon.
They are spending a ton on R&D and throwing more money at something doesn't always fix the problem. You make it sound so easy
