Really enjoying your talks and explanations, as you have I’ve Lost two of my best companions in the last year, 14 and 13 magical years with them, got a new pup she’s 15 weeks old springer, tried lots of channels which I’ve not been keen on, found yours love it, as you said we as owners never stop learning can’t wait for the pup training, keep it going your doing great

Tried the throwing treats on the floor stop whistle technique - she got it straight away, added whistle and then tried throwing treats further away - she sits and waits - thank you - first class tip -walking at heel I’m struggling with - any tips?
Hi Georgia I'm new to gundog training and am learning so much from your videos. Thank you. Someone has told me that I need to give one peep on the whistle to tell the dog that a new command is coming. How does the dog not confuse this one peep with the Stop Whistle?
Hello Liz, Thank you so much I’m so pleased your enjoying the videos !! I’ve never heard of giving one peep to tell the dog a new command is coming that’s new one on me!!! You shouldn’t need to tell the dog that a new command is coming when teaching something new, you would just focus on what you are teaching the dog hope that makes sense. ☺️

@@martinhunt6201 hello 👋 Yes they will be coming up down the line after I get couple others filmed and up with the weather at the moment it’s restricted me but once that’s out the way they will be back up ☺️ really pleased your enjoying them !!
i’ve seen a few people do this in field trials. it’s typically used to get the dog to look up so you can give them a direction (go left/right) and it’s a short single pip. the stop whistle is a long single pip and typically means sit and stay because the bird/rabbit is gonna get shot so you need the dog to stop and stay still :] the difference is the sound and length of the whistle, essentially completely different commands
